What's the total estimated cost on a build like this? Also what is the capability of this vs a DJI Mavic Pro (aside from crash avoidance tech)? I love DIY hobbies and I have been on the sideline for a couple of years with the drone hobby. Is this something that helps you stay of federal registration or does EVRRYONE register with local and federal aviation registration authorities? Sorry for all of the questions as I said I'm on the sideline and I'm looking at joining in the future.
Total cost of all the links in the description is $408, without the $40 soldering iron and $22 silicone pad it’s only $346, you can find way cheaper soldering irons. This is a great cheap build I’m looking forward to getting the parts in the mail
As a private pilot who doesn't get to hit the aerodrome more than once a year or two anymore and has to compensate flying very expensive drones watching you fling that thing around that abandoned buildings rafters made my blood pressure skyrocket. I'm used to any clip of the blades leading to hundreds to thousands in repair bills. I wish I had the liberty to fly it like it's stolen. :P
8:45 - Feel free to use soldering flux. Its quality will increase. I know that this solder contains rosin, but this is not always enough. Personally, I really like the paste-like flux for soldering SMD components.
Thanks for these videos. I'm building my first drone and I find them very informative. Just a soldering tip. If you use a damp sponge and wipe the tip clean regularly, it will be nice and "tinned" as it's called and will give you better control of your solder points.
Right, I've built this exact drone with exact parts. You sir, are a drone guru. This set up is amazing. 120c 6s batteries. This thing is like a katana blade. That Runham. Looks like a go pro with a fish eye lens colours pop. Smash that vtx on 600 and I swear to god this thing rips thru the air!
I have a love-hate relationship with the VTX you used. When they are good, they're good. But when they're hot , they're bad. Lots of snow when hot. Make sure you have good ventilation in-flight as well as while messing with it in non-flight. Had 2 burnout already. Arghh!!
I just subbed for the quality video that you made! I'm new to fpv and am just playing around with a tinyhawk 2 FR RTF, learning the basics. I'll build my own maybe a few months down the line but I'm glad some people in this community are making educational content for the potatoes out there that don' t know the first thing about soldering or assembling a drone. Something even more helpful would be setting up this build in betaflight. Thanks!
Great video (as always!) Maybe do an updated one for '21 with true long range (eg, with GPS), and maybe iNav? I'm looking to build such a machine myself. I'm older, don't care about flippy-floppy Freestyle and I sure don't race; I just want to fly around and see the sights. (And digital is too expensive; I have only analog gear.) I'd love to see what's recommended for a "long range cruiser" from someone that doesn't seem to be oversponsored...
I missed the link for the xt60 3D printed part. Would you be so kind as to providing it? Thank you in advance, and nice build! Explanations were right on point!🤘🏻🍻😎
I use these www.thingiverse.com/thing:3600008 www.thingiverse.com/thing:3998532 www.thingiverse.com/thing:2995171 Also, if using a decently flexible tpu try looking through the ones for double standoffs. I have had decent luck stretching them out to fit a few of my quads without having to mod the part
Holy crap man... Thanks so much for the great video. Lived my life woodworking but have never had a mentor to get me comfortable with wiring electronics. Diving into drones with my kids and your vid has me instantly comfortable with the challenges and skills required.
You and everyone else has done budget builds to put together the drone itself. The one thing that no one ever talks about is batter packs, controller, and fpv goggles. I've never owned a fpv drone and very interested in getting into it. But whick radios and goggles work with your setup in this video?
Hey man. For a cleaner and more robust build you can run the motor wires on the opposite sides of the press nuts and standoffs. I do It on all my mark4 builds.
I really enjoy your videos and have learned so much from watching them. I am doing my first build over the Christmas holidays so far i have the geprc mark 4 5 inch, mamba F405 MK 2 stack, rush tank ultimate vtx, foxeer t-rex camera and some emaxx eco II 4 cell 2400kv motors and a tbs nano reciever any recommendations on what i could have done better on parts wise?
How much kilometers can you fly? Which lipo did you use? I want build also a longe range copter, have bought radiomaster tx16s with tbs long range Modul with 2w, but I have problems to build the copter...
Finally a build video after a long long time 👍 covering most of the details & nicely put together. But why don't you still prefer the digital video systems? Is it for the price?
The latency is horrible. I have such a hard time flying in my bando when attempting small gaps and time-critical throttle inputs. If you see my Instagram you will see that nasty crash was because of the DJI. I never crash or break as much as i do with the HD Setups.
Is there a follow up to this video with it flying? I am a complete newby when it comes to drones. Before i would commit to buying parts would like to know specs for range and flyability of this drone
Hi just want to ask, the frame, have a fake one, and comparing to the this original 7inch geprc mark4 frame, its different how we tuning it? The model its the same, i dont use any fake one of course
Hello there friend, just wanted to drop by and tell you thank you and to let you know I think you make the best tutorials I've ever seen. And also was wanting to know for example, would a $150 home built drone be equivalent to a 300 and $400 store bought one? Take care Jeff
Made the same configuration, seems ok, but the antenna is too small. It has interference with battery when going back. Changed antennas, increased range from 300m to 800m (may be longer, haven't tested yet).
Hi, have you managed to get a good tune for this quad? I have a very similar setup, and am struggling with BF, Inav is a little bit better. Would you mind sharing your diff file?
Kind of a longshot to ask here but I have a question about my DIY FPV setup. I am running a modified Blade 200QX and was wondering how I can extend my FPV and overall flight range. I am using a Dx4e controller and currently only have about 300-400ft of range. I am wondering which Tx/Rx and Remote Control I need to extend not only my FPV but also my flight range. Thank you so much to anyone that can help!
I need some new goggles because the 40$ ones i have are falling apart. I am still fairly new and want a descent analog pair that wont cost too much. Any suggestions?
Best tip for newbies when soldering, get yourself a small ball of blu tac..stops everything moving around and soldering any wire is simple and strees free.. thank me later..😁
Thanks for a well explained build tutorial with nice camera work, very helpful. Anyway im going to smoke a joint and print some 3D Farts. 😊 Cheers mate 🍻
come late summer with some time free i need to try to build a decent 250g (silly laws) 4k drone. desont need high speed, doesnt need to be that agile, just be a light weight steady camera platform and rth/waypoints because code doesnt add weight...

You need to release a freestyle drone build kit!
The VTX has options of RP-SMA Female and just SMA Female. Any advice on which one is needed?
Surprised you didn’t use Crossfire for RX. Great vid!

I'd like to see this too
Same. Tricks are cool, but i just want long flight time and range to scout and enjoy birds eye view of nature
Best FPV build videos out there. Love the format and super helpful tips for new builders like me. Thank you!
I just wanna sit on my front bench and zoom around the neighborhood
So glad I found your chnl man!! Just getting into FPV and this is very useful thank you!!
Nice. I built a 7" with this frame.
HGLRC f22 fc, HGLRC pro 60a esc
2407 1850kv motors. Crsf. 7040 bi blades. Cruises all day it seems :-)
Love this frame. I'm just about done buidling the 7in version.
The motors on mine are going to be the weakest link, they're 3BR 2407 -2600s that I will cap off at 50% using motor output limit.
You can use software called eCalc to exactly select the motors, esc and props for the flight speed range and duration you desire.

Hi drone mesh i want to copy this exact build for long range, can i add a gps with this fc? If so which one would you recommend?
Yes recommendations for a stack with Baro and I2C please
Nice explanation! I couldn't wait to build my first drone
Good job...so what flying time you will get with 4s 18650?
That frame is so beautiful. Probably my next frame...
And how long does it fly for?
Holy crap man... Thanks so much for the great video.

Wow great video, im gonna follow ur guide for my first build.
Hi, can you suggest transmitter that is good to go with tutorial?
Amazing video! Can you please link the apps which you mentioned for the FPV community

Hey man. For a cleaner and more robust build you can run the motor wires on the opposite sides of the press nuts and standoffs. I do It on all my mark4 builds.
I do that sometimes but this video took so long I decided to go the normal route to keep time to a minimum.
@@DroneMesh yea I feel ya on that haha sometimes just gotta speed through it. Great build though brother
does anyone know where I can get this frame now in Dec. 2022?
excelente video, saludos
drones and AI. 2 of my favorite worlds collapsing!
I hope i will match your expectations.
Had to fix the typo
Just what iv been waiting for...Perfect.👍🏽
How far can the Eachine TX805 VTx go? Few kilometers? or is it depending on the RTx in the goggles more?
This guide is brilliant.👍 Can you tell max range upto this model will go?
Thanks. I built a very similar quad, same frame, motors.. Would you please post your PIDs?
8:20 why am I holding my breath everytime i see smoke. 😂😂😂😂
Can I build this Setup in the 5inch Frame? Or should i use other Motors or so?
Very nice vid and well explained 👍
whats the best size for long range and best signal? 5 or 7? or else?!

Good stuff brotha. Love the mark 4 frame actually working on a Mark 4 build as I watch this
Yes please do setup guide video also

Great video.. Can i just use any remote controller with this and any goggles or screen?
what is difference between 5, 6, and 7 inch drone frame
which is best for freestyle and long battery life
what connector did you use for transmitter? SMA Female or RP-SMA Female?
Does the iron support all the most common tips? Also doesn't say the temp it goes up to, can it handle much thicker wire for bigger jobs?
Is there a follow up to this video with it flying? I am a complete newby when it comes to drones. Before i would commit to buying parts would like to know specs for range and flyability of this drone
it doesnt matter what wire from the motor to the esc/pb.. you can make it work in the cli of bf..motorswap.
спасибо, это видео придало мне уверенности. 😀
Hello bro what type of video monitoring you use on video transmitter
What reciever did you use? Would jumper r1 plus be suitable? Thanks man I just ordered all the parts and realised there's no receiver in the list!
What battery are you using?
Hello,I am new to drone building, the flight controller you used is not available in my area so will it affect if I change the it
Yes do a video for the setup guide.
would you say tbs tracer is also viable for long range?
The range should be pretty much the same and diversity on the receiver should als help, no?
Hi just want to ask, the frame, have a fake one, and comparing to the this original 7inch geprc mark4 frame, its different how we tuning it? The model its the same, i dont use any fake one of course

Any endurance tests on the quad? I would like know how long and how far it can fly.
Another Great Vid! Bravo-
Minor nitpick, but that solder is 0.8mm
Not 8.
8mm would be around as thick as the tip of your pinkie finger. Maybe a bit less.
Hi, do you have a stable drone not for racing but just for video and pictures
I would change the way you solder to the ESC. From from the inside to the edge.
What flight time does this get?
Hi, have you managed to get a good tune for this quad? I have a very similar setup, and am struggling with BF, Inav is a little bit better. Would you mind sharing your diff file?
