I heard this when it was first released and sobbed... It was so powerful. Every time it brings up all kinds of emotions. I love the Hu and Lzzy Hale. This song is rare as it gut punches your heart! Very few songs in my life have moved me so emotionally.

Lzzy Hale has a voice that is unique. Check out Halestorm, they're Hard Rock and her voice is.....amazing. The Hu is a Mongolian Band....Wolf Totem is fantastic. And these two Collab......wow.....Dope just begins to cover it.

Loved The Hu from the drop and I'll be honest when this collab was released on first listen I was not a fan. I thought her vocal line disrupted what was essentially a chant/prayer from the Hu throat singers. But once I "detuned" my ears and tried not to follow any one vocal melody too much it all came together. I think the fact that Lzzy took up her own chant ("every heart is a woman's song") to close the song really brought it all together. The Hu is a force of nature. Explore them.
Without Lzzy's lyrics and vocals it would have been more of a chant song and it also would not have the emotional connectivity

Equality for women is still in some serious arrears. This is powerful, beautiful, and sends out a MUCH needed message. It’s actually about time, and women have been held back for far far too long.
Any time someone will try to “control “ anything- they are doing this out of fear. Almost every culture has had their foot on their women’s heads for far too long. Forever, as we know it.
Women are rising slowly. Most are not out to fix everything w/wars, so it makes sense that they are still “the weaker sex” to many. They usually don’t like the idea of bringing themselves up, because they don’t want to have their children killed, or kill someone else’s kids.
But we rise still.
Mongolian people seem to have an understanding of the value of the women in their lives. Thx for doing this. It’s more important than most people know.

Lzzy Hale is the best female rock vocalist to come along since Ann Wilson -- I shit you not. You should watch some of her band, Halestorm's, stuff. The live cut of 'Takes My Life' (from back around 2006, I think) has a rawer sound and crazy vocals from Lzzy.

As far as how I came across it, I enjoy reactions in general and again big SOAD fan so I tend to watch any that I find, however I jumped on that particular song because so few have done it and that started the rabbit hole.

More about the Hu - a lot of their lyrics contain old Mongolian war cries and poetry. They are throat singers - and use traditional Mongol instruments. (The stringed instrument with the horses head can make the sound of a horse). A lot of their songs are about the rise of the Mongols, who followed Genghis Khan, as their way of life and land were overtaken by the Chinese.

OG is the best but I like the Papa version too it is dancier and has a more pop vibe that will draw in more people to this awesome band

I have seen this band reccomended to me in the past but I always kept scrolling. Never really caught my eye I guess. Then I saw they had a collab with Jacoby so I checked it out. I thought it was great and made me want to hear more. Now I like both versions and the more of them I hear the more I like. Doesn't matter if it's their originals or remixes. But I probably would've never thought about listening to them if I hadn't seen they did a song with Jacoby.
I saw The Hu live last year. If you get the chance DO IT! They were in a small venue and when we went to a Greek restaurant across the street before the show they were there doing the same

Not to be pedantic, but they’re not singing translations, but rather letting the guest vocalists write their own accompanying lyrics and then incorporating those new lyrics into the original song.
