This run of Bomberman 64 achieves 100% status, which means earning 120 gold cards and all custom parts (alternate costumes for multiplayer modes). To acquire the prime "gold parts", players must obtain 120 gold cards within three hours of in-game time on hard mode.
Watch zvsp ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/zvsp ) blast through the stages and collect the cards very quickly. Many bomb-stacking glitches are used to skip areas. Some cards require killing a certain minimum number of enemies, so you'll also get to see Bomberman blow up lots of enemies. Also, the player dies on purpose several times, for deathwarps and as shortcuts for some cards in hazardous conditions.

All I can say is that this TAS was a blast to watch.
No pun intended… right?
Completing all main worlds in this game was simply fun. Quite challenging at times, but fun. Though I gave up at the rainbow palace because of how it requires you to play 4D Chess with bomb mechanics. It was unbelievably complex.
Fond memories. Multiplayer was particularly fun.
Always nice to see your memories being deconstructed by a TAS.

For those wondering why there's strange movement in the second and fourth rooms of ice-3, it's because there are triggers there that invert the camera so you're looking at Bomberman from below. The animation is about a second or so, so the skips save about four seconds.

This was my first N64 game and I remember having the damnest time trying to beat it (I eventually did) and watching this speed run melted my brain. It's pretty magical watching someone beat one of my childhoods hardest game.

Finding some of these secrets as a kid was so damn exciting.
My brother using "z bombs" to find pieces of armor in the very first stage was absolutely mind blowing for me as a kid.
This is bar none my favorite tas to watch. Just nonstop shenanigans and creativity. You can tell they had a lot of fun making this. Seldom does a tas make me laugh but this is just so ridiculous. My second favorite is the yoshis island tas. I guess its just better when you can throw stuff.
Finally, a 60 FPS version with no emulator lags.

I remember as a kid I wasn't able to get past the 1st boss on the road stage. The TAS just jumps right over it. XD

This is a long game to play, even with tas it took an hour to complete 😅
Its pretty short compared to the second attack. It's only long if you go 100% and this tas just blazed through it.

how frame perfect is the ledge bomb jump trick? that shit is WILD and hella hard looking to somekone who often would try to bomb jump and get themselves killed and never even came CLOSE to getting all the gold cards as a kid.

I'm wondering the SAME thing. Like all the gap areas the costume in 36:50 I remember my friends and I spent literal hours, knowing that is where the costume was but NO idea how to get there. We came back with remote bombs and tried our damnedest to bomb jump across but there's no way to do it casually, I dont think. So many times reloading the room over and over. I just don't see how you're supposed to do it. lmfao

This One was even weirder. You could Jump and throw bombs with the hands.

Then you haven't seen a good bunch of them. There's Jetter's, Generations, Hero, 64, 64 Second attack, the Gba games.
The ones that did something new with the formula were always the best

I find it interesting that even the TAS run can't do some of these levels in one go.
I find it interesting that it can ever do it. kill 30 enemies and finish the hard mode lvl before the timer. Totally insane. Rainbow lvls both beyond insane. I remember how much i struggled there and here it looks like childs play

They're playing with an emulator filter. It sucks the soul out of it, I know.
@@sameash3153 I don't know that it's even any filtering, just that you can render at any resolution you like.
@@BagOfMagicFood it’s definitely not filtering, it’s just internal upscaling of the game to 4k resolution. We’ve done this for every N64 and GC/Wii TAS.
Even official emulation of 3D games on later systems can have the resolution bumped up!

@@lorenzorios8514 I definitely wpuld not want a Mii Fighter fof Bomberman. Nothing against Mii's, I couldn't see it representing Bomberman well enough. He's an assist trophy for now, I think they're setting up, Hudson has made so many classics.

WTF Is this? The Guy Is basically Flying. Bomb powered Jump and Flying.
24:16 had the moves put on him, was giving his last regards speech whatever, and then a bomb put behind him before he started interrupted him.
And it's even optimal because you need the big boy bomb card.

I may be wrong, but maybe lightly drop a big bomb off the roof onto the platform, then it should be hanging over the gap for you to bounce on?

@@Stiv64_ intended way is to drop couple bombs to get on house, the walk to the card. Just drop down. Then do big bomb to break the house and then jump down to house again
@@Stiv64_ there was also a way, bit i cant remember from where. Drop a bomb and there was 25 percent chance that card will fall down on that side where the house is and you could collect it while it was falling
