Completing all main worlds in this game was simply fun. Quite challenging at times, but fun. Though I gave up at the rainbow palace because of how it requires you to play 4D Chess with bomb mechanics. It was unbelievably complex.
For those wondering why there's strange movement in the second and fourth rooms of ice-3, it's because there are triggers there that invert the camera so you're looking at Bomberman from below. The animation is about a second or so, so the skips save about four seconds.
This was my first N64 game and I remember having the damnest time trying to beat it (I eventually did) and watching this speed run melted my brain. It's pretty magical watching someone beat one of my childhoods hardest game.
This is my first time seeing a speedrun of this game I believe. Having played this game as a kid I find this speedrun to be both extremely impressive, and hilarious.
I always had a fondness for Bomberman's bombastic regular hours Japanese voice acting thanks to Party Edition, but this one right here is really adorable. Nice to see this channel is still vibrant as ever, by the way.
This is bar none my favorite tas to watch. Just nonstop shenanigans and creativity. You can tell they had a lot of fun making this. Seldom does a tas make me laugh but this is just so ridiculous. My second favorite is the yoshis island tas. I guess its just better when you can throw stuff.
I remember how neither me nor my siblings ever knew how to do literally anything in this game XD And here we have crazy bomb bouncing... XD And I can finally see what that game was all about.
how frame perfect is the ledge bomb jump trick? that shit is WILD and hella hard looking to somekone who often would try to bomb jump and get themselves killed and never even came CLOSE to getting all the gold cards as a kid.
@@Fargyy right? I was about to say the 1st or 2nd stage of the rainbow palace basically required you do this or not beat the stage basically if I'm remembering correctly.
I'm wondering the SAME thing. Like all the gap areas the costume in 36:50 I remember my friends and I spent literal hours, knowing that is where the costume was but NO idea how to get there. We came back with remote bombs and tried our damnedest to bomb jump across but there's no way to do it casually, I dont think. So many times reloading the room over and over. I just don't see how you're supposed to do it. lmfao
24:16 had the moves put on him, was giving his last regards speech whatever, and then a bomb put behind him before he started interrupted him. And it's even optimal because you need the big boy bomb card. TASs being inadvertently disrespectful >>>>
ngl after all these years and me almost being 30. I never knew there was a true ending because I never 100% the game as a teenager and I felt lied too when I got the normal ending and thought that was it
This gameplay is absurd. How you bumped in falling bombs? The bombs hitting my head, not my butt. And how you do this simultaneous explosion behind you? So amazing run
Watching tas always gives me feelings of inferiority. One of my childhood's hardest games just torn apart. I get that humans cant exactly do this but still
I find it interesting that it can ever do it. kill 30 enemies and finish the hard mode lvl before the timer. Totally insane. Rainbow lvls both beyond insane. I remember how much i struggled there and here it looks like childs play
@@lorenzorios8514 I definitely wpuld not want a Mii Fighter fof Bomberman. Nothing against Mii's, I couldn't see it representing Bomberman well enough. He's an assist trophy for now, I think they're setting up, Hudson has made so many classics.
37:33 Now something that hits me.... Who helps kill that lil shit, after Sirius betrays you? Since I know the bosses before Rainbow Palace, the Remote Control bomb is in a container now, while Sirius's first fight (and some locations around the game) is now an AI of some kind...
I know its never going to happen, but I wish they would make another big bomberman adventure like this.
Hope this game can remake
I would love that. This game is an all time favorite and doesn't get nearly the love it should.
i agree awesome game with awesome ost@@THEMETALISBETTER
I completely agree
Konami says no.

All I can say is that this TAS was a blast to watch.
No pun intended… right?
@@NostalgiaCrunchOfficial ..........right?!
I've learned more about this game in 15 mins than I ever did as a kid playing this lol
Fond memories. Multiplayer was particularly fun.
Always nice to see your memories being deconstructed by a TAS.

Just the picture quality alone makes this the best walkthrough ever 👌👌
Been waiting for a High Quality version of this for so long
Same here

The multiplayer for this game was amazing
such good times with my cousins
Absolute mind blown! Man some of the things you did here, I had no idea possible especially when I was playing this as a kid

The music for this game is so frickin god like. B3
Without a doubt.
IT IS!!
Bomberman Hero’s is better
@@protocetid I like Bomberman 64 The Second Attack the best. Would you agree?
I Hope TerminalMontage sees this
YES he should make a video about it
"Something About Bomberman 64"
Oh sweet love of "Bird Up" yes~
I hope you try foot fungus soup supreme, with lean prairie oister ground beef!
Bump
@terminalmontage
Amazing...no wonder young me couldn't find all the cards!
Here I am, trying to find those hidden costumes and wondering why the cards doesn't sum up
Those SFX brought back so many memories from decades ago...
Ah yes, good old Bomberman 64.
The one game that made the player learn TAS strats to get some of those collectables. XD
For real though!
Back when I had all the time in the world to go for them as well... miss those days..
Learn what?

I love playing this on the N64. I had such a hard time with the bomb jumps though that I couldn't get everything even with a guide.
Finding some of these secrets as a kid was so damn exciting.
My brother using "z bombs" to find pieces of armor in the very first stage was absolutely mind blowing for me as a kid.
This is by far one of the best TAS and the mechanics in this game are one of a kind, a complete underated game. So good, fun and yet so difficult
I always had a fondness for Bomberman's bombastic regular hours Japanese voice acting thanks to Party Edition, but this one right here is really adorable. Nice to see this channel is still vibrant as ever, by the way.
I'm literally just sitting here with my jaw open for half this video. This stuff is amazing!
First time I've seen the true ending after many decades. Thank you

The current thumbnail is a good metaphor;
Me: Bomberman
Life: A giant goddamn fish coming at me to ruin me
18:36 The bomb at the very end, lol
Finally, a 60 FPS version with no emulator lags.
This is a long game to play, even with tas it took an hour to complete 😅
Its pretty short compared to the second attack. It's only long if you go 100% and this tas just blazed through it.
So glad this got reuploaded to get rid of that lag. Thanks for that.
Dude the bomb bouncing the timing for bombs on bosses this is insane FANTASTIC JOB!!! Also the movement bro I swear your faide from apex.
I remember how neither me nor my siblings ever knew how to do literally anything in this game XD And here we have crazy bomb bouncing... XD
And I can finally see what that game was all about.

i always had bomberman 64 still have but to this day i wasnt able to play the second part....
TH-cam algorithm has do it again!
Splendid TAS~

@@Fargyy If had not rented it and played in some random dude 100% save I never knew it existed as a kid tbh.

So even after watching this, I don't understand how is anyone supposed to get half of the gold cards without TAS strats? lol

My siblings and i 100% this game but it took us years… everything is doable without TAS but sheeeesh back then you were in the lab
They really pushed what you needed to do. To 100% this game you really needed to fully understand the game, its mechanics, and its physics.
as a kid I couldn't even pass the first lava stage and the second ruins...seeing the machine trivialize this game drops my jaw xD
I remember as a kid I wasn't able to get past the 1st boss on the road stage. The TAS just jumps right over it. XD
my jaw dropped when I saw that. I never beat that guy either
I had to remind myself that you must have played other games well before Gems of War came into existence.
24:16 had the moves put on him, was giving his last regards speech whatever, and then a bomb put behind him before he started interrupted him.
And it's even optimal because you need the big boy bomb card.

I didn't even know that final secret stage til this day. Damn. All my life I thought that black Sirius was the end already.
As a kid i loved the funny sounds Bomberman made when laying or kicking a bomb.
This tas was stunning!
I'm astonished that a TAS had to replay levels to get the reward for time.
No wonder this game was difficult when I was younger, it's obvious now that I just needed to do a few 'dozen' frame perfect tricks to beat the game.
I remember making bridges and stairs out of bombs in bomberman 64. Good times
Ah the memories of when I was a kid playing this
ngl after all these years and me almost being 30. I never knew there was a true ending because I never 100% the game as a teenager and I felt lied too when I got the normal ending and thought that was it
Well what do you know. I thought I was the only one. LOL
Now way this is a guy playing this. Has to be programmed.
It's a TAS bot that's programmed to do these runs. All for fun, obviously.
To those who can't understand some characters' names in Japanese:
Artemis = Kapera/Capella ("Drop dead.")
Leviathan = Revia/Levia
Orion = Hauto/Haut
Hades (Orion's Mobile Suit) = Supuriggan/Spriggan
Regulus = Regurusu
Mantis = Rippā/Ripper
Sirius = Shiriusu
Drago = Drako/Draco
Altair = Arutairu ("You must die!")

WTF Is this? The Guy Is basically Flying. Bomb powered Jump and Flying.
Wow, I can't believe how much time the credits take up
It's weird to see a Bomberman game that isn't a maze puzzle
Also for N 64, there was a "Bomberman Hero".
This One was even weirder. You could Jump and throw bombs with the hands.
Was fun, tought.
Then you haven't seen a good bunch of them. There's Jetter's, Generations, Hero, 64, 64 Second attack, the Gba games.
The ones that did something new with the formula were always the best

Why sakurai didn't put Bomberman as a fighter in smash

ive never been able to play this game using emulation. i havnt played this since i owned my n64. anyone know a good emulator than can handle this rom
It really depends on your OS capabilities.
How is it you have a run 9 years ago and it was 1:01:36 even then? Is it just that perfectly optimized?
I’m wondering if like all these bomb stacking jumps would even be possible in a non TAS run
やったことある人なら分かるだろうけど、このゲームは異次元レベルにむずい。3Dのギミックも凝ってるし、ボム積み上げて飛ぶのは配置すら難しい。ガキんちょ時代によくぞこんなんやったなぁ…

Let's be honest: Bomberman should JUMP here!
Only in Japan game
Not really.
I played it in English.
Bomberman's voice was different, albeit still high pitched.
