I ❤ your channel!!! You look amazing!!! I’ve been vegan for over 30 years now and I love your emphasis on plant based foods that are not processed. I’m over 50 now and really need to focus on that! Thank you for sharing!
I didn't like tofu before going plant based, but now that Iv learned howz to manipulate it ,its one of my main sources of protein I love its versatility, I made the pasta salad from the last vid and wow, its def not traditional but I realized that's not the point, that salad was satisfying, nutritious 👍🏾 & guilt free!
I'm watching you on my television and was so stoked by the vibrancy and detailing of your video especially the parts where you talk to the camera that I had to look up your camera gear section. Thank you for your recipes and for sharing your camera details. I appreciate you! ❤
Loooove your turmeric latte recipe so much! My dietician swears by their anti-inflammatory powers too and suggest I incorporate it into my diet daily (with a dash of black peppers too as you included, of course!). Your channel is such a joyous and calming space, thank you always. 🥰
I can’t eat soy, but just yesterday when I answered my nurse practitioner about my plant-based diet, she immediately tried to warn me that it was bad to eat much soy. I told her I was allergic, but then had to educate her about the estrogen thing. 🙄 I swear, they have no freaking nutrition training yet still try to advise patients.
This came right on time. My blood work came back with high inflammation and I was looking for ways to reduce. I was vegan for about 4 years, vegetarian for a year, then pescetarian for a year. Unfortunately, I am back to eating meat. I had to stop eating vegan because my blood -work was coming back indicating malnutrition. I am older and my body doesn't absorb nutrients like it did when I was younger. I have followed you for some time now, it is great how you have been able to maintain this healthy way of eating. I start changing my diet tomorrow, after the holiday, lol. Wish me luck.
My favourite uses for lentils are: dhal (of course); lentil and bean chilli (I make this so freaking often and usually have stashes of it in the freezer too) and lentil "shepherd's pie" 😍. I really feel you on the love for lentils
I used that kind of answered in my math homework and my teacher gave me a zero! 🤣🤣 you made me laugh so hard and I enjoy your passion for cooking with healthy ingredients. thank you!💗💗
Lol....when you talked about how much tofu you eat was so funny. For a long time I was not a fan of tofu but now I love it and I can eat half to almost the whole block myself and lentils omg I love me some lentils. Great video! Thanks for sharing
Great video,! I enjoy tofu and soy milk I'm new to vegan eating and are trying hard to stay focused. Yes i would appreciate you doing a video on soy. Thank you
Thank you for this video. Lentils are my favorite. I make a batch of lentil taco meat and have it a few times a week store it in the freezer. Can you make a video on to consume flaxseeds everyday. I use them in my yogurt and baking.
i love soy! 😊 soy is so beneficial for your health!! In fact, studies have shown that the consumption of soy isoflavones can reduce the risk of breast cancer
I'm not vegan, just vegetarian, but I can't stomach tumeric lattes. I do put it in food as a spice though. It's great in pea soup, sweet potatoes, lentil stews, pasta salad, etc! I also follow Dr. Greger!
Love your channel so much! And can't express my love for lentils. They are so nutrious! But...when cooked they contain less protein then dry. The package says it contains that amount of protein but that is for the dry product. When you cook lentils, they soak up liquid and contain less protein. Still a good source of protein though💚
😂 I suck at math even though I took calculus in high school! But …. number of servings x protein per serving = total protein in the package. Divide by half if you’re eating that much and you’ll know the protein! (label experience from past years of stupid dieting) Yep, allergic to soy. And oats, even gluten-free. Oh, and wheat intolerance. So my diet is vegs, fruit and beans. Period. 😞 But I def don’t eat enough lentils so off to see more of what you’re doing with them!! Not here often enough - gotta fix that!! ❤
I really enjoy your videos and all the information you give. I’ve been 95% vegan for over 8 yrs as I still have fish 5 times a year. I find that I only have time with my work schedule to eat 2 meals a day and I definitely do not drink enough water when I work as sometimes it’s impossible. I really need to get my eating plan in check as I think my metabolism is messed up. Any suggestions?
Yes, please share more about soy because I was hesitant for so long after reading that too much soy is not good for us and it’s linked to breast cancer. I had a feeling that that wasn’t accurate, but I couldn’t find any studies that refuted the articles I read. I absolutely love your content. ❤❤ you were the first TH-camr I watched when I decided to go plant based almost 2 years ago. 🙌🏽
It was the meat industry that created the false narrative about 20 years simply to boost their sales. There is a difference between plant and animal hormones. This, they failed to clarify consequently, consumers were frightened. I did the research and realized there were two different types of hormones that vary significantly in their chemical structure and response in the body. Plant based hormones are referred to as phytoestrogen, which are totally different from animal hormones.
@@rasil4u thank you so much for this information with me. I will be sure to do some new research on my end to confirm what you’ve said. Have a fantastic week
Nice! Yes phytoestrogens are excellent at regulating estrogen. Flax seeds also contain this .Make sure when you grind them that you use them immediately as they will oxidize and lose nutrients. (I like to throw mine in a smoothie or make some flax seed crackers) Love your channel! (Oh and I'd love to see a soy based video...sounds cool!)
You look awesome and very very healthy! Initially, I was vegetarian for roughly 15 years, and switched to vegan about 15 years ago. So I have been plant based a very long time and love it. Do you ever watch Tabitha? Great recipes as you and others have created.. I learned about the soy lie many many years ago, It was the meat industry that created the false narrative to not only scare people, but to boost their sales. I absolutely loooove ur channel❤️❤️❤️ It has helped me a lot in my vegan journey. Plz share with us ‘All things soya’. Also how can I make tofu from my own kitchen🤔 Thanx💋
There are some studies indicating that the curcumin in turmeric is only bioavailable when fermented with black pepper. Super easy to do this too. Its great in berry beet smoothies.
I love your videos and have your first book. Have you always included salmon in your diet? I saw it pictured in your video twice. Thanks for your enthusiasm!❤️
Love oats but latey oats have flared up my. Tummy I’m not sure it’s due to IBS or anything else going on currently awaiting testing I get this burning inflamed feeling in my stomach I’ve since layed of oats and have been eating tofu/lentils/ beet juices chickpeas to make my meals but deeply miss breakfast with oats … love your work thank you for sharing theses great insights by the way I agree just because it says vegan doesn’t mean it’s vegan 🌱
Great info, I hope you get a million subscribers! (I eat lots of sweet potatoes, and even their sprouts.) My biggest fear of soy products is GMO's and their effect on intestinal flora, though I have heard the man-boob theory pushed a lot. Subscribed!
Your body will tell you if soy is bad for you or not. Initially I had no issues with soy. It wasn't until I started eating soy protein bars (processed soy) that I started having problems. Had I just stuck with tofu and minimally processed soy milk, I probably would have been ok.
@@ginal2643 The most painful bloating of my life (literally doubled over in pain), abnormal period, there was a weird growth on my thumb that I couldn't figure out what it was. It looked kind of like a pimple or bug bite or cyst or something, but looked too small to be able to do anything with. It stayed on my thumb for a while, but went away after I stopped all soy. Never had anything like that before or since. But again, I never had any of those problems just eating tofu, tempeh, or soymilk.
Try eating an amount of soy that doesn’t exceed 25g of soy protein per day. That may help with tolerance of them. If I eat more than that, I get gas. At or below that level, I don’t. 66g of soy curls is 25g of protein, for example, so I eat 66g or less per day.
Do you find you have excess gas from eating so many legumes? I've tried soaking them overnight as well as, adding in kombu. But I still find my gas is so bad.
I like to pair my legumes with other things to take away the likelihood that I'll get gas. For example, I have to eat beans with rice or something else so that it's not too much on my system. Sometimes simply eating too much at one time also can give me gas/bloating, so I try to be mindful of that and not overeat, especially before bed.
I definitely would LOVE a video on soy and soy based products. I'm always having to defend my love of tofu to people when they ask me what I eat on a plant-based diet.
I would definitely watch a video about soy products. I love soymilk. I don't drink almond milk because it can cause your blood pressure to go up. Loved the video as always ❤️

Do you take any supplements as a vegan
For iodine b 12 , d ect
@@aleeshahennaahmed2531 B12 is mandatory for vegans and vegetarians. Even meat eaters are often B12 déficient.
Shii-take contain all three forms of cobaltumine e.g. b12
