A funny joke the community tells about Toby Fox, the developer of this game, is that he included a game with his music album.
@@smileybones9172 nice profile pic 🥵
Can you react to undertale fan game music named "better start running"?
could react to deltarune megalovania (fanmade)
This is my favorite soundtrack in the entire game. The second drop never fails to make me turn into a bobblehead.
The way Man on the Internet does it in the musical has ingrained itself into my brain, when I hear the drop I can only think of: "FIGHT WITH DETERMINAAATIOOON"
@@Irreverent_Radiation see now I haven't ever listened to it, but I can _still_ picture almost instinctively how that sounds
@@uncroppedsoop It's very long but it's worth a watch, some songs are hit or miss but Finale is so good, overwhelming a bit but in the way that it *wants* to be, stacking and stacking until you can't help but vibe!
I really like this ost cause it totally fits the theme where you seem to be facing an impossible hurdle but as you struggle you realize you are slowly winning.
Same
The thumping is intentionally borderline overpowering since you are still facing down against this giant evil godlike abomination that is still actively trying to obliterate you, but it's just beginning to lose now.
The triangle part is essentially one of the central motifs of this game, heard throughout many tracks in the game. I'd recommend listening to the track "Undertale" to hear it more in depth.
Omg he hasn't heard Undertale yet? He's going to absolutely love it
What i'd recommend is the actual main theme of Undertale called - 'Undertale'. Some of the slower themes like Snowdin's theme you will certainly also enjoy.
4:46 I think it's actually intentional, this theme is for the comeback part of the fight, and you as a player are represented with a heart (your soul) and need to push back harder now that you finally feel a chance to turn this into a victory (I'm avoiding spoilers as much as I can). So listening to something close to a intense heartbeat (or panting) makes a lot of sense
Also because there's a million sound effects going on the bass would've been drowned out if not for its volume
Fair warning: Viewers will likely be a bit naggy about two other pieces that will be recommended for you to listen to. Similarly, you'll want to listen to "Bergentrückung" and "ASGORE" together (A brief fanfare intro, followed by the main song that embellishes on that theme.) Also, "Hopes and Dreams" and "Save the world" which, like Best nightmare/Finale are essentially different parts of the same song. th-cam.com/video/_ScOWN1vzZo/w-d-xo.html This is a version with "last goodbye" also tacked on with those two. The cool part about that is it's Toby Fox, himself, playing the piano at the end.
Anyway, hope this spares you another undertale headache.
Oh it's all good! I knew Finale was important to do as it was part of the original comment thread of the suggestion for nightmare. I'm just having fun 😅 thank you for the links
No problem. While, I have your attention, I'd love to put in my own plug for "Liberi Fatali" from Final Fantasy VIII, if you find yourself in the mood for a nice, edgy symphonic sound later on. Anyhow, love the breakdowns you do! Great stuff! @@DrumRollTonyReacts
Great suggestion@@JBarneche
@JBarneche you forgot about OST 88 - Burn in Despair! A 22 second track that stands inbetween 'Hopes and Dreams' AND 'Save the World'...
I didn't forget. That one, while part of the other two, is more of an interruption that I don't think really serves much purpose when breaking down the "song" from the other two. I left it out because I think it would detract from the video to include it. @@theoakun3635
Fun Fact : the trumpet you hear at 2:52 actually has it's own name, as Touhou fans would commonly call it : ZUNpets, it's a unique trumpet sound that creator of Touhou use in some of his OST.
and Toby Fox is big fan of this guy btw, many of his music is inspired from Touhou.
Also you would be able to hear Your Best Nightmare drum sound in the background at the phase 2 of the ost
Oh sweet. Thanks for that info
You probably had to search "omega flower" for the thumbnail, right? Now you see what kind of monster we are talking about 😅
After the Hell that Omega Flowey puts you through during this fight, finally gaining some semblance of control over your fate coupled with this super energizing theme gets the feels going so good. That's not to say this plays during a restful point, but it signifies that it's time to go as hard as you can and that the odds are on your side. I think the ending of the neutral route sometimes gets left out when talking about this game because of how great the other 2 routes are but I'll never forget it! Super epic well designed fight and songs that reflect the 2 combatants and the situation perfectly.
4:08 You may say not playing with big emotions there but remembering this fight and how this part of the game felt gives it that extra punch. Not gonna lie, just hearing this song makes me tear up a little still because the music mixed with the games themes and the things happening at this part make it explode into being more than the sum of its parts imo.
Every time bro paused right before the beat drop, a piece of my souls died
Тоже самое
how many do you have?
I bet you have 6 souls
Your videos are the only ones i refuse to watch without wearing decent headphones, I love picking up on the specific things you point out in your breakdowns, love your work man!
I'm glad to hear that. Gotta hear the little stuff
4:22 IT'S ABOUT DRIVE, IT'S ABOUT POWER, WE STAY HUNGRY, WE DEVOUR...
I actually didn't know they were counted as separate songs. I think I made that same assumption for Hope's & Dreams and Save the World as well.
I really love this track. It's very short but I think it hits specially hard hearing it immediately after the previous one in-game
WOOHOO! I personally love how catchy Finale is. It was one of my favourite OSTs from the game especially cause I dreaded the creepy laugh in your best nightmare.
The great thing about Undertale's OST is that I don't have one favorite song. One week Finale might be my favorite song, another week it might be Death by Glamour, another week it might be Undertale (the song). The OST is just magnificent as a whole and how the motifs build up over ~100 tracks is just a beautiful progression.
IT BETTER BE FINALE EVERY WEEK
This is tied with ASGORE and Megalovania for my favorite track in the game. It's happy, yet sad. It's climactic and triumphant. As far as I'm concerned, it's everything you could want from a final boss theme.
“Your best friend” would be one to listen to for the main melody and motif of “your best nightmare.” Also, Heartache and Asgore if you haven’t heard them,
Hey Tony! I have been watching your channel for many years. I absolutely love anime and OST soundtracks so it has been super fun to watch you break them down. You are a musical genius! Also I know people get on you about rewinding but you actually break down the music instead of listening to it once and calling it a reaction. I'm also a lifetime hawks fan so that's cool to see as well. Anyway, love your content! Keep up the incredible work!
Go Hawks!
Those loud "thumps" that you said were distracting actually make a lot of sense context-wise in the game, it's supposed to sound overwhelming and all over the place because of the events that are unfolding during that moment
Those are sound of heartbeat
(Not being sarcastic)
bro said "enough is enough" and made this video for y'all
xD
😅😅👀
This is the first time I've heard the glockenspiel in the background, it's so quiet and I would never had noticed if you didn't point it out! Though, given how infrequently I listen to Your Best Nightmare & Finale, it makes sense.
As others have mentioned, it's playing the main melody / motif of the game's main theme Undertale, which given this is the Finale, makes sense. Undertale's motif shows up all over the place within the soundtrack, generally in boss fights though some locations also have portions of it. There's also a version of it played by Toby on acoustic guitar.
I have no idea if the glockenspiel is real or not, it's hard for me to tell when things are the main focus, let alone when they're barely audible over the rest of the track hahaha
Time for Undertale: Hope's And Dreams + Save The World
Better to just listen to em together so the Undertale crowd can finally rest in peace on here lmao
You forgot OST 88. - Burn in despair! it's in between Hopes and Dreams AND Save The World. OST 87 and 89 respectfully...
so glad you checked this out!! now i dont have to feel so guilty about forgetting to include it in my suggestion 😅 i think you'd also really enjoy Here We Are and Amalgam, another pair of interesting tracks that go together from this game! thanks 4 the great vids as always 🙏
Yes Tony, listen to the bass *I say as I watch on my phone*
🎧
🎧
I want you to play this game. Because it helps you perfectly capture the mood of the soundtrack and the game.
I mentioned before that I think you should react to the Homestuck OST, but I forgot to mention that has tracks made by Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale. Out of all his tracks in Homestuck, my favorite is "Descend".
oppa toby style is my favourite for sure
Whenever I hear the drop with the "polka" type beat I always think about Kirby music instantly. Love it!
Your best nightmare & Finale is one complete song and should always, and I mean ALWAYS be listened to in this way.
the emotions it evokes in tandem with the context from the game is peak, it makes it one of my favorite tracks despite being fairly simple!
By the way, the creator of undertale Toby Fox made almost the whole game himself. He made 90% of the sprites, 100+ songs and scripted the whole thing. It took many years so uh, props to him I guess.
Subscribers: watch Blues clues theme song
Tony: "Okay well do it, f*** it"
LMAO
So much of this ost builds off of songs and themes from other parts of the game so the more of it you see the better you'll probably appreciate it
I was actually hoping for Finale, nice
Do bergentrückung and ASGORE!! It’s a boss fight where you fight against the king of the underground!!!
At this point in the game, this music is in the moment in you called help for all the six souls of die before you, all souls give you the power for defeat the omega flowey, turning a terror music in a music of hope.
I recommend, I was born for this by Austin Wintory and The London Symphony Orchestra. Such a beautiful song and Austin has a video of the performance recording on his channel.
I read the comment telling you to react to this one on the last video and I didn't think it would happen so soon
omg my heart skipped a beat and I thought this was the FINALE to music director reacts
oh shit, hahahha. I should have made a different thumb. Didnt even think of that
Ooooo ironic unintentional click bait
@@DrumRollTonyReacts it's a really good thumbnail though. I can't even think of any alternatives you can change it too. If anyone watches the first couple seconds, they'll see everything is fine.
Love the Pochita shirt, nice!
Most people don't pick up on the Glockenspiel bit at the midway part, nice ears man!
This song is so perfect for the battle of the 6 souls of the death children and yours vs. Flowey. I love that it has traces of Your best friend and His theme (Asriel's soul still wanting to exist somehow)🩷😊
am i the only one in wich this song brings tears to my eyes?
I didn't watch the video yet, I know already I need MORE!
I genuinely think it's one of the hypest most motivating songs in RPG history.
ost 71 "undertale" from Undertale is perfect in every way shape and form you gotta react to it
5:10 Welcome to the bass section. I'm pretty sure that's the tuba.
Try Ultrakill soundtracks such as Altars of Apostasy or Order, Hakita uses a lot of leitmotifs and the music is basically top notch.
100%. all of ultrakills sountrack is amazing
“ *Flowey’s DEFENSE Dropped To Zero!* “
I think that i've just witnessed one of the best thing internat could ever give to one
I think you would appreciate a pair of albums called Animusic (and Animusic 2), two iconic early 2000s prog rock fusion albums by a musician named Wayne Lytle
Ah i love this theme
HOW did no one recommend Hopes and dreams???
You need to see how intense the fight is in the game when the music is playing really intense fighting Omega flowey and I haven't even fought him he looks horrifying like a horrifyingly hard I don't think I can get that far before after reset over and over and over
You really need to do Hopes and Dreams/Save the World
“Floweys defense has dropped to zero”
this plays right after "your best nightmare"
Really enjoy your reaction breakdowns.
If you want more from Toby fox Spider Dance (Undertale) is my favourite from both games.
I also really like Hopes and Dreams, Asgore, Core, Waterfall, Ngahhh! followed by Spear of Justice, Bonetrousle and Undertale all from Undertale.
Field of Hopes and Dreams, the World Revolving, A Cyber's World, Pandora Palace, and Attack of the Killer Queen from Deltarune are also really nice.
This part of the Undertale gave me some really weird feelings. I have never seen a game break its own structure so hard, but at the same time bring some hope that something good is actually happening behind all this crazyness
yes it is in fact playing with your emotions. in game.
oh yes PURE GOLD
Without spoiling the game, the last song is supposed to convey despair with a glimpse of hope (with the cut ins). Now that hope has shone through for the player and you’re supposed to feel like “oh shit, I can actually beat this guy”
At lest that’s what I felt when I played the game
I would love to hear a reaction to Hopes and Dreams, ASGORE and most importantly, the song Undertale from Undertale, the emotions in that piece are amazing as well as the composition and layering, has to be my all time favourite Undertale song
fun fact: the bells actually play a different song in the ost "his theme"
I recommend playing the game, mostly because you have more context and enjoy the music more with the combat.
That song in the battle make strong feels it's "determination"
I recomend u the ost's of papyrus disbelief Interestelar Retribution
One of the best songs, Toby is a F genius.
I WISH I COULD HEAR THIS AGAIN 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Eleventy-hundred goes hard
best undertale music ever
Also by Toby Fox I’d be really interested in hearing your reaction and analysis of « The Lordling ». It’s not from the Understale OST but you’ll recognize a little something from « Your Best Nightmare ». Definitely one of my favorite from Toby Fox. Great video!
Do Deltarune ost next (Deltarune is the sequel to Undertale). I'd recommend "NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A" or "THE WORLD REVOLVING" but you could pick whichever
he HAS to react to the orchestral version "this is undertale"
Bro whenever I hear this I just go slap battles mode
Can't wait for this dude to listen to Amalgam
You can see Flowey's fearful eyes, its time to strike =)
TODOS UNIDOS JAMAS VENCIDOS
You should definitely react to the Night In The Woods OST, it's really beautiful
I think you would love Undertale - Amalgam soundtrack as well...!!! :D :D :D
You should definetely hear Death By Glamour The Most articulate one could be perfectly
Well you did🤭 loving it why did i not get recommend it
I hope you enjoyed It human =)
😆
Imagine becoming a photoshopped god with the power to load and save the entire world. And then after everyone just does reactions to your theme song.
@@etheethepunmaster2802 well, at least they appreciate my themes and my popularity still remains with them and myself.
Hi. I really like how you explain the technicalities of the music. I was wondering if you already heard of TUYU? It's a Japanese artist, and I would really like you to react to some songs from them. Stay safe, and may there be more nice content to come from you 😊
I dont think I have heard of them. thanks for the suggestion
great vid, but you HAVE to do the kakegurui op for season 1
What i'd recommend is 椎名もた(siinamota) - Young Girl A / 少女A, it is depressing but a good song :)
i wish mr.tony listened to my request this quick 😔😂im joking lol. heavenly delusion op, innocent arrogance by Bish 🙏
Don't worry
Much like the main character in Undertale, you are filled with DETERMINATION.
Another day voting for more Risk of Rain
That is a good vote
Hey Tony! You would really like “Let Me Carve Your Way” from the Strive OST, not to mention strive fans go absolutely nuts for their music so it would get a lot of views.
Although a video breaking down that song might take a while lol. I’m not one to request, especially in a yt comment section but Strive theme reactions are so popular that it’s crazy to me how you haven’t done any!!
He's done 3 from Strive:
Smell of the Game
Necessary Discrepancy
Testament's theme
@@vigorouslethargy character themes. Not just OST
@@Silverado-pq6xe
2/3 of those *are* character themes...
Plus I'd like to see some Xrd music as well. Diva of Despair, Jack a Dandy, Bao Babel Nose, Juno, Original Bet are all really really good.
@@vigorouslethargy oh you’re right, i couldn’t tell from the videos cause it’s not the video everyone else uses. Either way he did like the least popular ones lol
Do "Its raining somewhere else"
The only thing that could be better was if this track had an actual resolution
You should do Interstellar Retribution next
Yo tony have loved your videos for a while- both changed the way I listen to and appreciate music. Can you please do an analysis on black clover op 10 (song called black catcher), never watched the show but my favourite OP of all time
So funny story. I actually did all the OPs for Black Clover and it went on TH-cam. Shortly thereafter it was blocked ❌by TH-cam LOL
It now lives on Patreon under the 'Blocked Content' section.
What you're missing is the context. If you think that some of the stuff in the music is chaotic and overwhelming, you should see the boss you're fighting. 🤣
Idk if you will even see this comment but ive noticed you have done some Destiny reactions, one i think you should definitely check out is Journey from the Destiny 2 original soundtrack
You can't not listen to the track literally called Undertale. It is by far the best track and Toby himself said that it was the track that took the longest to make. Amazing to see you're still reacting to songs from this game so please keep it up!
Bro pls try hearing "close to inevitability"
Pleas, i begging u, HOPES AND DREAMS
Did you know Toby Fox did an entire orchestra of all the Undertale songs?
Judging by the comments I suppose Tony has to play Undertale and then just listen to the entire soundtrack. 😂 That’ll be a loooong project.
