    www.visacoach.com/cr1-spouse-v... What questions are asked at the final consulate interview before a CR1 or IR1 spouse visa is granted? Over the decades while helping couples achieve their dreams of spending lives together in the USA, after the
    interview is over, I always ask the couple to tell me about what their experience at the
    consulate was like. And I always ask what were the questions that were asked. As time has gone by, this has allowed me to compile a detailed and accurate list of sample questions that are actually asked. I use these to prepare VisaCoach couples for their interviews.

    Fiancee or Spouse visa, Which one is right for you? www.visacoach.com/fiance-vs-s...

    CR1 Spouse Visa Timeline www.visacoach.com/spouse-visa...
    Green Card /Adjustment of Status www.visacoach.com/green-card/
    And now, you can review these too.
    But first, let’s review the basics. If you are the foreign born spouse of an American Citizen
    or a Lawful Permanent Resident, the final step before your visa is granted, before you can start your new life in America will be an interview at the US consulate. There the officer asks questions about you and your spouse. You must convince him, that you have an honest and genuine relationship. Only then, will he approve your visa.
    The official is tasked to look for fraud. This is the last hurdle before the visa is issued and the last chance for US immigration to catch any irregularities that were not spotted before. He plans to determine whether in "his opinion", you are of good moral character, and if the relationship is genuine. He is seeking to trip you up to catch "sham marriages" by couples who fraudulently marry solely for the purpose of obtaining entry to the USA.
    During the interview it is ESSENTIAL you are calm and poised. That you don't stumble over
    your answers, or take too long to answer, or give too many "maybe" or "i don't know" responses. There should not be any question the consular officer may ask that surprises or finds you unprepared to answer.
    The following questions should provide you plenty to talk about with your fiance and provide you
    the opportunity to get to know him or her much better. I like to call this playing "Relationship Trivial Pursuit"
    The interview is a stressful time. The way to minimize the stress is by preparation. Not
    only to prepare for the interview itself, but to prepare at the start of the process. Prepare EARLY by hiring VisaCoach to guide you safely through this journey.
    Normally VisaCoach clients have a very short interview: 3 to 5 minutes only, with only a very few
    easy questions asked. This is due to the high standard that VisaCoach applies to preparing
    for you a "front loaded" application, The VisaCoach "front loaded" application anticipates what
    red flags the consulate officer might find, then answers them positively using your evidences
    and photos.
    First we make a good "first impression" that satisfies the officers doubts and suspicions,
    then the interview starts, leaving only a few of the friendlier, easier questions
    to be asked and "your visa is approved, welcome to the USA"
    If your application was not crafted to VisaCoach's high standards, expect to have a less pleasant interview. The weaker your original petition, expect more questions, tougher
    questions and a longer interview. Hopefully things may not be so bad as to turn from interview into interrogation, but that has happened. Especially if a poorly prepared petition, reveals red flags and raises more questions than it properly answers. This is when couples who prepared their own petitions, or hired budget"form filling" services, really get into trouble.

    • @Visacoach

      If a case looks sketchy, but the officer is really trying to help out, he/she might make a call to obtain clarity. Most officers don't go this extra mile and "if in doubt" simply take the easier course and deny.

      That is the discretion of the consulate. I reommend my clients to contact the consulate a few weeks prior to the interview and ask permission. If granted you attend with your fiance. If denied, at least you have confirmed your support for the case.

    After the Oregon judge put an hold on presidential proclamation on immigrant health care for those that are going for interview abroad, my question is can our family abroad still need to go to the interview with the proof of health care insurance or it’s not necessary?? Please can somebody share his or her thought on this please.

    I like your questions ... they really get to the point.
    Assuming that all your answers are based on knowledge and not guessing, you really should know 75% of this in a few weeks if you are serious about her.
    YOU don't marry just YOUR spouse ... you marry the entire family.
    Your spouse's family should be as familiar as your own ... before getting married.

    Hi, My wife and I both currently live together in the UK, she was able to get clearance to live here a year ago. We are now both wanting to move back to the US, but we are unsure of the process as she lives with me here. Is it different than if she still lived in the US?

    • @Visacoach
      @Visacoach  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was an expat myself for almost 20 years, and so understand you and your spouse's situation very well. We can work together and apply while you two are in UK, and then once the visa is approved you can travel together to your new homes in the USA. The USCIS office is still open in London, and for as long as it remains open, instead of submitting the petition to USCIS in Chicago we could submit directly to London. This would save about a years worth of processing time, and your visa would probably be granted in under 6 months. For further details on how I help expat couples please reach out to me at info at visacoach.com

    Hi Fred . Thanks for the video. can someone file i130 for a spouse if they originally got their green card through (previous )marriage or they have to wait a certain time period before filing i130 for the spouse.

    • @Visacoach
      @Visacoach  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no simplistic rule of how long. What this is is a red flag that the reviewers will notice and be concerned about. What overcomes red flags is abundant evidence of a bona fide relationship. That is the area I spend most of my time working with my clients to prove.

    • @AJ-ve6pc

    • @Visacoach

    Thanks

    • @Visacoach
      @Visacoach  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Approved CR1" means the interview has already taken place. If you mean "approved I-130 by USCIS" under normal circumstances assuming an applicant submits the proper materials to NVC about 3 to 8 months later. Under Covid, depending on whether the consulate is open and for how long determines todays timing, For some it is a year or more.

      The most important suggestion was to hire me immediately after your denial so that I could have guided you to correct the issues that caused the denial and to reapply doing a better job. Sorry, by this time, the "die is cast". Your approval/denial will rely on what was or was not done long before, not affected by anything you can do, last minite, in the next 30 days.

    I am 70 and my spouse is 29. We've been together for 3 years and have lots of supporting documentation, including photos, etc.. I have 2 questions: firstly, will the age differance be a problem? Secondly, my income is my SS, which is a little over $2000 per month, which is above the threshold, however, due to deductions I am below the threshold required to pay income taxes. Since I don't have any taxes due, I also don't have to file a tax return. Therefore, I have no tax returns to submit with my documentations. But I do have proof of income, both thru printed pages of my monthly payments from SS, and a letter from SS stating my income. Will this be a problem? btw: I am American and my wife is Filipina.

    • @Visacoach
      @Visacoach  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Will this be a problem? Maybe. Significant age difference is a red flag, but usually can be overcome with time spent as a bona fide couple. If IRS does not require you to file taxes, then immigration won't require filings either.

    What are the most frequent but tricky questions encountered at the USA embassy on spouses interview?

  • @blackwaltz3135
    @blackwaltz3135 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    alot of these questions are really weird and i cant see them being asked
    for example knowing my mothers maiden name??
    whats near my house??

    • @Visacoach
      @Visacoach  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This list is made up of real questions that have been asked. Sure some might sound weird. The weirder it is, the more demonstrative it is that your partner knows everything about you and that the two of you share a bona fide relationship. Having said that, if your application has thoroughly demonstrated the sincererity of your underlying relationship, usually the questions actually asked at the interview, are usually simple. My philosophy for all the cases I prepare, is to tell the story clearly, back it up with solid evidence, this is what I call "front loading". What happens is that the officer upon his review is already comfortable with approving the application, so doesn't need to ask any tricky or weird questions. Having said that, I like my clients to be overprepared for their interviews, that's why I provide them with a comphrensive sample list of questions. In practice, since we do a good job in frontloading, it is very rare that any of my clients are asked more than a few simple, easy questions. Best practice is to be prepared. ie: bring an umbrella in case of rain, but don't mind if it remains sunny.

    If they really ask my spouse “why are you only seeking an American spouse?” I will not tell them my opinion directly...
    My opinion is that’s rude & disrespectful!!
    One: it is accusing that they only want American.
    Two; it is saying they own foreign country from the US is not good enough.
    Three: the truth is we both never thought we would marry a quote on quote foreigner. That was just the way God planned our union.. end of story.
    Just my opinion that is it I hate that question because of the level of disrespect to a legit marriage that the lord blessed.
    I was curious to see what my wife would be going through on her interview. I appreciate the work our government in the US does. Even with the year+ of time waiting and finds ways to grow together with the distance. It is beautiful has it’s hard moments too. But still I feel sad at how many people yearly have to expose their relationships nakedly to strangers that hold a family’s future based solely off their opinions (the person handling the case interview).
    Lastly we have to remember to swallow our pride & cooperate because we knew this would happen from the start! So know people it will still be alright because in the end the time that was wasted being a part because of this beautiful process that has a beautiful reason was worth spending the rest of your life’s together!!!
