The sausage with the ground beef was absolutely delectable. The sausage really gave the dish an extra somethin. My 97 year old mother raved about it too! Everyone should try it. This recipe is a keeper. Thank you Laura for sharing it.
Hi Laura, I JUST FINISHED the chili. I bought the best quality of product and ingredients. I followed religiously every of your step. All I have to say is THANK YOU!!!
As much as I LOVE chili, I honestly, never thought I could or would make my own, but I believe I'm gonna have to try your recipe. It's looks BANGIN!! I esp appreciate how you explain why you use certain ingredients, when to put them in, how you let the chili sit for a bit between layers of ingredients, so when all the ingredients are finally together and cook for few hours, the end result is just DEEE-LI-CIOUS!!! Thank so much for sharing with us. Arlene
Using this recipe with a couple small tweaks for a chili cook off this weekend at church. Is that cheating? Laura has never led me wrong with her recipes. They’re always a hit at all of our gatherings.
We just made this. It was honestly the best chili we’ve ever had! We used breakfast sausage instead of Italian. Ended up with a subtle sweet flavor we loved!
I watched this yesterday, and made it tonight! Holy moly!! Soooo good!! I didn’t have a Lager, so I used a brown ale and it came out awesome 👏🏻 best chili I’ve made 😋😋
Amazing looking chili, Laura. I won a chili cook-off using a similar recipe, but I am definitely going to tweak mine to follow your changes. I like how you reminded us that some spices are oil soluble and some are water soluble. Your pizza dough recipe, as well as your vanilla scones recipe are standard rotation in this household! Thanks
Looking forward to making this soon! Your original Chili recipe has been my go to recipe for years, but I love your Three Bean Chili even more, so if you've tweaked that recipe as well, I know many of us would be interested in that being featured in a future video.
I use fire roasted tomatoes with garlic and I chop up a chorizo. Drain well. I like new Mexican red chili, cumin , Mexican oregano but I'm from New Mexico
I made the chili last night and it was sooooo good! Thank you for the recipe Laura. This is a keeper and so easy. Bringing some to my 95 year old mom today.❤️❤️❤️
Hi Laura, I just made your chili recipe. It’s still on stove but it’s awesome already! I made a few medications such as adding a poblano along w/2 jalapeños from my garden. I only used ground beef bc no sausage on hand. Love the spice combo and addition of beef broth and lager (I used Sam Adams 👍) and about a tsp of chipotle chili powder. I’d like my chances in a chili cook off with this!
I know this isn’t a “fashion” channel but I’d love to know where that awesome shirt came from? Camel is one of my favorite neutrals and that’s a perfect tone.
Good tip re the jalapeños...I did not know that...Love your videos. I just recently made my butternutsquash soup again and I referenced your video in combination with Food Wishes recipe. It was delicious! He melted butter and sage together.
Awesome as always! Thanks again, had to look back at your awesome recipe ,given this time of year .. awesome that we have such a talented chef at our fingertips. Thanks again! Take care !
Laura I can't!!! I been watching you forever!!! And it was something new when you said no peppers!!! I don't know why lol I'm always here for something new and you brought something new!!! Stay at home mom here always looking for new thank you ♥️
It's wonderful how simple and easy all your recipes are Laura. I will definitely be trying this recipe out in the near future. This looks so yummy. I love love LOVE your channel! Always amazing. 🙂
Lovin' the simplicity of your version the worlds best comfort food. - Thanks! Chili has so many faces from so many different places. My son throws bacon and some kernel corn into it to make it a bit more Tex-Mex.
Making your chili for NFL Championship weekend on Sunday for the games. I Can't wait!!! I made your other version chili last year so trying your new updated recipe.
@@peggyleekight1563 @ Sarah Growing up, my Mom would serve it over boiled potatoes. As an adult, I’ve never served it that way but am curiously hungry for it ! 😋👍
Making this tonight. Never done it with sausage so I'm excited to try this. I also didn't have ground beef so I'm using a steak. Everything else I have. Can't wait!
I made this today. I used a little cayenne instead of the Jalapeno and 3/4 cup red wine instead of lager and cannellini beans instead of kidney. Not a big difference but this was THE BEST CHILI I HAVE EVER HAD!!!
Chili is definitely my favorite so I'm going to this one a try 😄 Also you should start a series where you recreate recipes from your old videos-- just an idea 🤣 Love you Laura 💝
Looks delicious, I like it better the next day, the flavors are more alive, also my Grandmother sometimes made mashed potatoes and put a few spoons of it on the bottom of the bowl, and put the chili on top, it’s good that way to. 👍❤️🦋
Im making this chili right now as we speak 3 am so its ready for tomorrow Football Sunday.. Thank you so much. Oh and I would love the recipe for how you managed to live 11 years and still look as though you haven't aged a day..
I’ve been told I make good chili. Two ingredients that believe are difference makers. First, I freeze fresh sweet corn off the cob from the fall harvest and use that. Second, and this is the most important, a large spoonful of peanut butter.
Another good video, thanks Laura. I recently made a big batch of your chicken chili and basically lived on the stuff for a week, it was that good. I also added two fresh Jalapeños - spicy good but not over the top. I agree - leave out the bell peppers. I’ll bet we would enjoy your take on Texas Chili (with brisket) as well.
Do you think there's some kind of difference in removing the cooked meat with a slotted spoon then sauteing your onions and garlic in the rendered fat? I realize I may be splitting hairs but my goal is to not overcook the meat yet get that flavor into the O&G.
I was thinking the same....the meat looked dry by the time she added the spices. I also follow Jenn Segal on "Once Upon a Chef." She suggests adding baking soda to the meat and using the slotted spoon method you suggested. The baking soda raises the pH of the meat, helping to lock in moisture and keep the beef tender. Not criticizing Laura...God knows how much I love her...but, if you can improve on something, why not? 🙂
Loved watching you for a while now. Just for clarification, the chili seasoning used in the recipe Is it chili seasoning as in the ready made spice combo for chili, or is it the chili seasoning from dried chili pepper?

I made this for our Halloween party tonight. My son in law texted and said he can't stop thinking about the chili! It was so good!

Chili with avocado chunks, cheddar and some good tortilla chips.
And a cold beer.

Best mid afternoon snack. A bowl of chili. 🥘 Best midnight snack. Good for a snack or main meal anytime of the day.
It's currently 39 degrees outside. And I feel like chili would be the perfect meal, on this chilly fall day. So definitely will be making it today. :)
I love chili! My Dad is coming for Christmas and I will be making this recipe along with my jalapeño cornbread! 😍😋
Thank you Laura, you’re the best!

Hi! Did you use regular oregano or Mexican? I only have oregano and can’t find Mexican. Hope it’s fine!
@@nicolegalasso1050 I used regular oregano.
Makin' this!! I'm so glad you noted you were using Mexican oregano. I find there is a significant difference in regular and Mexican oregano.
@Maleny Luna
The company is called Staub. The enameled cast iron pans are made in France and very pricey.
Iove watching you cook. The chili is on my to do list tomorrow. Thank you
This is terrifically good. When I make something great for dinner, I often want it again at breakfast. I'll see if that happens tomorrow.
I needed this!! Thank you so much for sharing 💕
This is by far the best chili out there. PERIOD.

Is there a huge difference in taste between "regular" oregano and mexican oregano?
