i like so much that remix, i turned it up and partying Sunday morning =D btw great review , im looking like reviews different options from basic manufacturers like Man- Freud- To =D
I hope they plan on attending. I just realized that you could pull the center pole, mount it upside down, and have the camera hanging from the bottom. Huh.
I finally purchased a TC6 and video head and couln't be happier. I've never had a tripod with a bowl head before, but always wanted one...but with a center column! Finally have what I need, before dumping my video rig over trying to adjust the old tripod legs to get a good level. Glad I saw your review back in February. I hope Curtis finally got one as well.
I just bought one of these from your affiliate link. This tripod literally solves every problem that I've had with my previous Tripods. When you unscrew the center bar to get that low angle I almost peed on myself.
Manfrotto included that clip as well, at least used too for tightening the clamps. My 4 Manfrotto's are all older the 10 years old built like a tank as well. No plastic. Haven't tried any of the new ones. I agree though the IFootage looks like a superb piece of kit. If an when I need a new pod would definitely look at this product. Thanks.
Thanks again for this video. I watched it before thinking that I'd buy one of these eventually which suddenly became now since my crappy Amazon Basics Tripod blew a leg and almost crashed with almost $2000 worth of gear on top of it if I hadn't caught it in time. I just bought this one through your Amazon Affiliate link.
Help, I took out the center column and it won’t go back it. There is a plastic ring, that I can’t seem to get it. If I place it back the column sticks. Any help appreciated!
Thanks for this overview. But I was pretty surprised when you said that you'd never seen the included key for tightening the clasps before on any tripod. Any manfrotto tripod I've bought has had one of these.
I get your point about the cheap plastic crap-pod, but there is some logic in buying one if you have never owned a tripod. When I started in photography I bought the cheapest tripod I could get. I knew it wouldn't last me for more than a week or two, but it allowed me to get more idea of what I did want. I still have the second tripod I bought (along with about a dozen others now). If I had spent more on my first tripod in the hope of getting something that would last a long time, I would likely have bought the wrong one and had less money for the second one. P.S. Good luck with the music career Rapper Kevin.
Why do people hang things from the bottom its just a sail catching wind.... But I love the look of these just waiting to see one then this is high on my list.
Hmmm. Shake as in what conditions? A lot depends on the load you put on these. A rock solid tripod is pretty $$ and you'd be looking at maybe a Satchler or something.
Manfrotto makes good stuff. It depends on what you’ll be mounting. No matter what you get, make sure there is a return policy, or at least a credit policy, and check out the tripod fully extended and loaded as soon as you get it
@@BasicFilmmaker I actually went with the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 and MVH502AH. However, if they suck, I can always blame you! Just kidding. I'll return them, click your link again, and try out the TA6. Cheers!
I am with you, on quality Tri-Pod Makes all the difference in the world. I invested in my Manfrotto 055 last year, and It to comes with the same clip on tools as well.
@PRIVATE In my humble opinion, I believe it is safer to pay a little extra and get the brand name. That is why I went with the Manfrotto, when making my investment. With the years they have been in business they have built a reputation on quality products. Obviously no company is perfect, so if you happen to get a bad set of sticks you have a much better chance that the Brand name will replace without hassle. That said, the Gazelle set shown in this video, look like they will stand the test of time.
TechSavvyDaddy Agreed. Benro, Sachtler, Manfrotto, etc. If you've got the money, you've got a piece of gear for your lifetime. If not, at least you've got something to learn on until you do. :)
Name brands do not equal quality. I have had 2 Manfrotto tripods break on me; although, I still like their fluid heads and monopod. As for the cheap (replaced) tripods, they serve well as static microphone stands for room tone, capturing actor movement and foley.
On an indie feature shoot and all of a sudden my gazelle TC6's legs won't lock up properly, I tried using the attached tool to tighten the clamps to no avail. To be clear I don't mean to fault ifootage or anything, as it certainly has gone thru some abuse. Have you or anyone else experienced anything like this and find a solution? A bit of masking tape at the top of each section has been our temporary solution, but is certainly not ideal and adds precious seconds to setting it up for a low angle on a small set. (as you know every moment counts on set, heck there's not time to read anything in parenthesis for that matter!) Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
Huh. The tool and tightening didn't work? I would think an email to the iFootage guys would be in order, as they'd want to know that, and probably have some great ideas to fix. I had this happen to a tripod once on set, and happened to have these clamps amzn.to/2DZjKyy so just clamped the offending tripod leg - worked great!
Hi there Kevin, I was wondering if you could tell me the adapter you used in your IFootage TA6 review. It’s the adapter you used in the area below the tripod head to refresh your memory
If you're talking about that little pin? It's sometimes referred to as a baby pin for lighting. I like mine to be threaded. Here's one" amzn.to/2yeWBYP
I like the video (great content and high quality style as always). However, the title is a bit misleading. This is product review. Although a very good one. Within tripods, there are various purposes: studio, location, travel. A minor criticism: you used the word "sucks" - below my expected content.
Neewer makes a "knockoff" of that model that is absolutely incredible for the $80 or so dollars that it costs. Functionally, it's identical. I'm sure it's not quite as sturdy, but it holds my 15lb rig no problem. That's a really great, convenient design. Massive height range, quick to adjust, good stability, and ultra lightweight... Jackpot!
@@BasicFilmmaker No problem at all. I'm all for the tripod. China designs and makes a lot of great stuff. I support your video. You thought I was sarcistic didn't you? I'm not. It was a note to self when I saw the label.... another great product from China.
@@dyong888 Actually, I wasn't sure which is why I asked. I get all sorts of comments and sometimes don't understand it, so I ask. They prooved me wrong. :)
I'll be the odd one out here, and say this is dreadful! Repetitive, with numerous distracting and worthless pop-up boxes, peculiar language, and time-wasting ending. Thumb down from me.
Geez Arthur that's a bit harsh. I think Kevin provides a really thorough and detailed descriptive review. He's got great presentation skills. And it was free. Hope the rest of your day went well :)

Wow! How interesting that this comment JUST NOW shows up for me after 9 months. Sorry I missed it. Thank you!
Thanks BFM, great coverage! Super timely review! I'm in the market to replace one of my older tripods. I definitely want to see this in person at NAB.

Naw. I love showing off gear I think is great. They deserve every bit of sales they may get off this.

Oh man I figured it out I had to reseed the ring . That was annoying
Can that accommodate a blimp and shotgun mount?
I see no reason why now. Thanks!
It's actually very cool looking too. I applaud their color scheme. Ending music vid was hilarious!
Thanks Todd. I think when the tripod people saw this video and got to the end, "music video" their brains exploded.
