      Awesome. Which adapter do you mean? The one I said you don't need, or the mounting clip?
      This is what I used to use when there was only a 1/4 20 and I wanted 3/8 amzn.to/2MGSJDo Now I don't need it anymore.

I was listening to this in the car on the way home and I had to check right away to see if mine could do a similar mini tripod feature. Right - ON TARGET!!! I was in the market for a quality monopod and narrowed it down to two. Sirui and iFootage. Only looked at Amazon but decided to see if I could get some reviews of monopods on TH-cam first. Saw your video and... Bam. You sold me on this monopod AND the Komodo fluid head. I'm getting both. What really sold me on the monopod was your demo of the twist to extend or retract feature. That to me is a game changer compared to other models. I already have an iFootage tripod and already knew the quality of their products is top tier. So no sell job needed from that perspective.
    Thanks for the video. I'm glad I clicked on it and saw it before making any purchase. Cheers. 🥂

      @@eatermckinnon4644 My order is currently on its way to me. I ordered both the monopod and the fluid head. I'm not a tall person so I think with the monopod extended fully and with the fluid head and camera attached, it should be a great height for me. If you're taller, you might want to consider ordering the extension piece that iFootage sells or as you said, wait for them to come out with a longer version, maybe. Can't wait to start using this new equipment.

    Excellent monopod review, sir! As a stills landscape and product photographer, I'm thinking of a monopod to complement my tripods, and am considering either the IFOOTAGE Cobra C180-II (with a Leofoto VH-105 tilting head)....OR a Sirui P-324, but have heard of the following possible issues. Any thoughts on these alleged “issues" or which monopod is more robust?
    "The Cobra 2 has a "plastic" ball joint at the base, and the 1/4 3/8 threads don't completely retract for mounting".
    "The Sirui's ball joint at the base gets dirt/grit easily, making cleaning necessary more often."
    Thank you!

    How stable are the feet? Would you be happy not holding the monopod itself with say a Sony A7III on top? I currently use the Sirui P-204S which does a good job but noticed recently it's starting to lean a lot more and I feel less sure on it's stability.

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The feet are super stable, but I would be worried about leaving any camera on it. I've done it for sure, but someone could easily tip it over by bumping it and there's a lot of money at the end :)
      When do you usually find yourself doing that?

    • @ThunderboltNick
      @ThunderboltNick 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechGearTalk I do it a lot at weddings. Not to necessarily leave it unsupervised. More to stop there being any camera shake/movement in the footage. I sometimes have to fit in tight spaces at the front and a tripod wouldn't really be sufficient. So I tend to set up and let go. Still in reach to grab it.
      Although I have been known to leave it unattended to check on another camera quickly but only once everyone is sat down and not moving.

    Telescopic vs normal lock mehanism? Im not sure how will telescopic behave in 3 years, thoughts?

      That's a fair question, and one I can not honestly answer. I can tell you that it's well built. But I have only had it for a few months now. I've had my normal lock one forever and it still works.

    Hey Tech Gear Talk great video! one question: Does the Ronin-s quick release plate is compatible with KOMODO K5 Fluid head? Thanks

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had never tried that so I'm not really sure. My guess is that it would fit, but I have not confirmed this. I am letting someone borrow my ronin-s but I will try to remember to give it a shot when I get it back.

    I have to wonder if you’ve tried out the Sirui monopods. They blow this out of the water with some features and they had that game-changer feature 6 years ago. Their base locking system is the best and the feet are the longest and strongest.
