I just love how she has this wide vocal range that she can actually sing in. Not like most that just do exclamations. She actually has great control over her extensive range and I love her!
I am happy you gave importance also to the low register... usually people consider only the high notes, but I find her low voice so SEXY and beautiful, full of emotions :)
I think is her best C#5 and her best belt ever !! (along with the D5 in Underneath The Stars - Daydream World Tour in Tokyo Dome, 1996). The ressonance, the vibrato, the control, the effortless, everything is perfect.
i luv mariahs voice, she has the almost exact range she's had for 20yrs, her voice is just not as strong and rich as it used to be but still give the younger divas a run for their money.
I like how you use videos not a lot of ppl have or have and they just don't use them. I also like that you have a few clips of I Want To Know What Love Is @ Stripped NYC and no one else has it. Major Props!!! This is by far the best live Mariah Carey Vocal Range video out there...you cover all of her live notes. THE BEST!!!
Whenever I feel too lazy when it comes to vocal control, I watch this video. It keeps me motivated. Even though I'm a mezzo-soprano and I'll never hit most of those notes hahah!
I really like your video it has a lot of clips that most people leave out and included newer clips. Thanks for using migrate its one of my favorites and was unexpected.
@broadwaybaby2409 I know what you mean, although it's not squeaking lol, she is producing those notes from her throat and has absolute control over them they aren't unmusical screeches they are melodic, her whistle register is a phenomenon and it's part of her vocal range.
You wanna know a great way to tell when Mariah, just Mariah, isn't singing fully live? Im not dissing her, every artist lips, backtracks, and dubbs here and there. Mariah is my queen of voice. I watch a ton of live videos of her, you can ask other Mariah youtube trolls.... they know me. When's she's singing live and belting she has never, that I have ever seen, held her arms, either side, up across her face. Mariah's hand movements when she is belting are as identifiable as her actual belting voice. To me, it's an almost sure shot way to gauge if shes live or not. Just an observation. Not trying to argue or be mean. Just something I think she does. She's still my inner voice, my passion. : )
+Maryah Watkins Productions mmmmm actually I've noticed that when Mariah over-exagerates her hand movements is when she's actually lip-syncing. When she's dubbing she's in fact a lot more fluid on stage because she has to actually sing live for the audience, instead of lip-syncing in which she usually tilts her head to the side, kneels or does a LOT of hand movements lol
wadah itil as a singer, the dead giveaway (which she is horrible at) is shaping her mouth properly for notes. I know when Mariah is hitting a note because there's a certain your mouth just opens and has to be positioned, but she lips she starts smiling sometimes or her mouth just doesn't seem to be properly shaped to accommodate the note she's hitting. Also Mariah does have struggle face so 95 percent of the time whether she's in the 90s or now she looks in pain when she's hitting a note and that's not a bad thing it's just how she is sometimes. Other than that you just have to be observant in tonal changes or if you can hear a change in fluidity and range. It takes time but eventually you just hear when the back track goes in because IT NEVER MATCHES HER VOICE. Which, girl yo ass can at least update a few of yo back tracks
humm...i wished she could showcase her head voice/falsetto more often...also in her album she also is very safe...she needs to let it all out on her upcoming Ep which is said to be Bluesy With Rock N Roll soo hopefully she impresses me vocally on that Ep I Recently Watched MC You and I and i felt like my heart melted and curled up in a corner...it was soo amazing! :D I still cant believe a singer like her exists..beyond a goddess
Bye Bye @ GMA!! I love that exact moment, You really outdid yourself with these:VH1 divas F#5, Rockin Eve, Boy 106&Prime, America The Beaut, SNL (I wish you had Touch My Body from SNL, I have it but am too afraid to post it b4 they cancel me) , Shining Through Rain, and the choices were so different like Soul Train, Even have Mid Chest & Extensive head voice. I really could go on.. Lovin this vid
ouch..why haven't i ever seen this before? this is the best vocal range demonstration of her entire 5 octave. most of the other vids on this r repetitive but you chose different performances/ notes frm different eras. NICEE
@Shazni1409 Because it shows that she can execute these notes in both registers unlike many people who skip notes and have incomplete vocal ranges. In her prime I believe she could have belted a C6 and her vocal coach says she went higher than the piano (C8+) so she could have easily have/had 6 octaves. Hope you subscribe :D
I remember I watched this video back when I was in school. that was about 2010-2011, and I was just debuting myself to be a lamb back in the day. thanks for this great video! added: you were 16 in 2010? we're in the same age then 😄
Only MC can go from a D7 to an Eb7 for I Want To Know What Love Is xD @10:40 - Why is there no video? Mariah's low notes are phenomenal. I got to see that Elle generous interview thing
Since 9:43 is a transition..the one with Mariahs hair up is Obsessed....and the one with the curly hair down is her covering Bringing on the Heartbreak by Def Leppard on her album "rainbow"
Great vid - your best yet i think love how ya used the G4 i used in my vids and all the other clips that most dont use...and that you started at F#4 :)
Guys, imagine Mariah's baby's range. Genes are normally passed on to become bigger and/or better than their parents' genes. So if Mariah has a 5 octave range, what if her baby has a 6 octave range????? NEW LEGEND ON THE WAY!!!
@khmerAZNet The number of the note determines how high or low it is, the bigger the number (of the note) the higher the note e.g. a D7 is a very high note however a C3 is a low note. A note in the second octave like a B2 is a low note. An octave scales from a C to a B, B being the highest note in the particular octave e.g (low to high) C2 C#2 D2 Eb2 E2 F2 F#2 G2 G#2 A2 Bb2 B2. Hope that helped.
@sentfromupabove Please excuse me for butting in.... i think the city is Tokyo, japan, P.S. ALL of your videos are absolutely remarkable i hope you become even more famous on youtube.
@TheDeathsAdvocate No her voice was no less than average that day. Her belting was clear and she has lots of agility and flexibility in it. She also had alot of resonance in her belt that day with no too much rasp. Her lower range was brilliant as usual and her head voice was bright and agile. Also her melismas were on point that day incoporating elements of jazz into them
OMG!!! Ijust tested myself and I can sing those exact notes even the last ones!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!OMG!!!!!!!!!!AHHHHHHH!!!!! I'm so excited!!!! I'm gonna sing all day now!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
@BlackLightning20101 Mariah has gone lower in the studio so I know she can and her vocal coach claimed she went higher than the piano in the 90s so I really wouldnt be surprised if she had 6 octaves in her vocal prime. But this is her official live vocal range.
The whistles she sang in obsessed are in the actual track, if you listen to the last 20 seconds of the song, you have to listen into the background though.. But they are there :)
@sentfromupabove she do it in studio!! Live just one G#2 with speak voice and touch one G#7 so fast, never could do this live again!!!! now her range is around 4,2 octaves, C3-Eb7
Hey guys check out my acapella cover of Butterfly by Mariah Carey th-cam.com/video/6Eabr_Plwt0/w-d-xo.html
Perhaps the best female vocalist ever..
Behind whitney yes.
With Whitney
Davon Fryar Nope, IN FRONT of Whitney.
She's not in front of whitney
Chris Houston Yes, she is. In mine, and many others' opinion, she is.
the greatest vocalist ever. i dont care if you think otherwise!
Spill
I just love how she has this wide vocal range that she can actually sing in. Not like most that just do exclamations. She actually has great control over her extensive range and I love her!
Some corrections: The G7 is A7 the G#7 is really Bb7 and the first Bb2 is really F#2 so her live range is F#2-Bb7.
reminder you forgot to fix the G# issue in the title fjfkf it's still G#2 instead of F#2-Bb7
@@MIXANDMTCH it's not supported so I don't really care lol
She has a f2!
@@rosimeireramos8255 yes she did that in 2014 this was uploaded in 2010
She's done a B7
Her whistle register is incomparable!!
Thanks to her sound engineers
@@ulradeja5380No lol
I just love her whistles in H.A.T.E.U they are so beautiful
Mariah's ability to sing is almost superhuman. She's been blessed with a wonderful voice that's touched millions.
I am happy you gave importance also to the low register... usually people consider only the high notes, but I find her low voice so SEXY and beautiful, full of emotions :)
She's a songbird!!! Y/Y
She really killed that C5 in 2:35, she sustained it and everything
I think is her best C#5 and her best belt ever !! (along with the D5 in Underneath The Stars - Daydream World Tour in Tokyo Dome, 1996). The ressonance, the vibrato, the control, the effortless, everything is perfect.
@The Flop of a Generation yaaassss! 100% MSG Mimi girl slays!
queen of vocals
This is great! I didn't know she could go that high. She must be part bird or something.
+Steven Perez I laughed without realising it hahaha!
Dorian Wilde she can also go very low
Her vocals are strangely beautiful, I really enjoy her classics.

No because her second prime was amazing (late 2001-early 2005).
i luv mariahs voice, she has the almost exact range she's had for 20yrs, her voice is just not as strong and rich as it used to be but still give the younger divas a run for their money.
this is great. anyone who think they can outsing MC can look at this video and follow the notes. the last notes are amazing.
My God.. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, can match her!
Amazing video.
To me, this is the best video you've ever done! Very detail, and very enjoyable to watch as well!

Amazing video, I love the fact that you included Head Voice Notes as low as C5! Great job!

That was amazing!!
it gave me chills, its a pride to be mariahs lamb!!!
Congratulations sentfromupabove! Its was awesome!!!
omg I have a vocal range of only three octaves and she has FREAKING FIVE LIKE I'M SO SHOOK RN SHE'S FOREVER THE ONE AND ONLY QUEEN 🙌🏻
she has 6!! F2 - F#8

EXCELLENT!!! This woman is SENT FROM UP ABOVE!!! :)
I'm sure Mariah has like a 6 or 7 octaves range, cause she did that G#7 so effortlessly, she can go much higher!
the first A5 give me life like seriously i love that note
I can not have Christmas without this gal!!!❤❤❤
@broadwaybaby2409 I know what you mean, although it's not squeaking lol, she is producing those notes from her throat and has absolute control over them they aren't unmusical screeches they are melodic, her whistle register is a phenomenon and it's part of her vocal range.
My favorite singer.
Im not even sure if my ears can pick up on her vocal range, thats how good she is, perhaps maybe the best singer that ever walked on earth
the best 'vocal range' video EVER!!!!!

You're just proving my point more. Lol. Lipped/dubbed whatever.. That's aside the point of my observation
***** You are still missing the point. OMG.. I'll edit my comment. Duh.

Great vid - your best yet i think
love how ya used the G4 i used in my vids and all the other clips that most dont use...and that you started at F#4 :)
4:43 I'm not referring to the singing, which is absolutely perfect, but the shortness of that clip makes it seem kinda funny...

In the old videos she used to use the whistle register sooo much better... Without all the dangerous air she puts in now.
one of my favorite videos ever!!
thanks for sharing :)
I love Her Range it is soo connected. That is why she will forever be the best singer in the entire planet forever
@sentfromupabove Please excuse me for butting in.... i think the city is Tokyo, japan, P.S. ALL of your videos are absolutely remarkable i hope you become even more famous on youtube.

Her Whistles start in Eb6
@calvin999999999 The A5 belt. It is live, that whole performance of 'the one' is live, she was having a really good day that day.
this video is awesome!!!!!!
OMG! I'm almost 100% that the G#2 goes down to G2 on the fifth 'low'
Yeah it's G#2/G2
That last "OH" and 4:42 was pure magic.
@TheDeathsAdvocate No her voice was no less than average that day. Her belting was clear and she has lots of agility and flexibility in it. She also had alot of resonance in her belt that day with no too much rasp. Her lower range was brilliant as usual and her head voice was bright and agile. @Conner526 Yeah it does because the vibrato of that note fluctuates between a B6 and a C7 at 9:29
OMG!!! Ijust tested myself and I can sing those exact notes even the last ones!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!OMG!!!!!!!!!!AHHHHHHH!!!!! I'm so excited!!!! I'm gonna sing all day now!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMAAAZING!!!!!!!!
amazing whistle tone!!!!;)
very beautiful ...
Amazing Freak of Nature
@BlackLightning20101 Mariah has gone lower in the studio so I know she can and her vocal coach claimed she went higher than the piano in the 90s so I really wouldnt be surprised if she had 6 octaves in her vocal prime. But this is her official live vocal range.
@LandOfMarcos Thanks that note was from a performance of 'Hero' in Madison Square Garden (1995).
The whistles she sang in obsessed are in the actual track, if you listen to the last 20 seconds of the song, you have to listen into the background though.. But they are there :)
@RaciouS91 this is a live vocal range video lol i am more than aware she does an F7 in the studio version.
Studio:
F2-Bb5-B7
Live:
F#2-G5-Bb7
@sentfromupabove she do it in studio!! Live just one G#2 with speak voice and touch one G#7 so fast, never could do this live again!!!! now her range is around 4,2 octaves, C3-Eb7
so her full vocal range evrybody(updated): F#2-Bb7.that is 5 ocatves and 2 whole steps.
amazing voice
no one can beat mariah
even if i am a number 1 fan of xtina
Does 9:29 peak at C7? It's for like a millisecond.
Anyway, wonderful video! Love the rare clips! :)
@iiAmitx3 No its an F5, Emotions was lowered by 2 keys on MTV Unplugged.
