I have a post mortem photo of a little girl who was placed on a fainting couch for her last photo. Seemed appropriate to me that this is what they used, giving the fainting couch center stage mainly because it's very apparent of what the furniture is with all the beautiful woodwork found on it.
I have always been curious how they made the low relief carvings or "incisions" on Eastlake furniture. Did they use little drills, maybe scooped chisels? Anyone know?
