  • Hey everyone! welcome to the video. Today we are back on the youtube yacht road project using Dirt Perfects Kubota SVL 90-2 skidsteer. Just trying to get everything sealed up and the edges cleaned up and ready for base rock. We also installed a redneck version of a french drain and hauled in a load of stone with his GMC C8500 tandem axle truck. we did a before and after mavic mini drone shot to really show the progress we made in a short day.

    Your access is really looking good and with time, good weather you will get it done but like most things in development, we always have to tune up and fine tune things after the fact. Great Job, look forward to the next one...hope the stuck skidsteer doesn't create a big problem for you. PS I started watching your friend Dirt Perfect. Liked his trough for increasing the volume of dirt that can be moved... definitely apprentice here....economy of motion right!!

    on those 'lonely' trees close by the road, did you consider taking some 5ft tall tree trunks and stand them up around the base of those trees in a circle, then tie them up with some natural looking Manila or Hemp rope? This would make a protective post barrier around the actual tree and any vehicle deciding to get too close will first take out those posts instead of damaging the actual tree. It might also create a little scenic design and deter vehicles from getting too close to those trees as they travel the road.

    Captain nice job on the road I don’t know if you know just an FYI when you’re grading like that I know you were moving material!!!!!!!! but the last part of your video you were dragging the road,,,,, Way back when a guy told me this years ago always have a bucket full of material in your bucket...... when you’re going to grade a area it knock down the high spots,,, it prevents the bucket from bouncing and helps grade the road just an FYI,,,,,,,(((((( Mikey dirt perfect man)))))) may have already talk to about that. Take care keep up the great work junkmando

    If you can’t fill those ruts at the Crap Meets Crap Culvert you might want to hand dig some small channels to allow the ruts to drain. At least they won’t continue to hold water allowing the road base to stay saturated.

    If you were to buy a skidsteer for homeowner type work in the future would you only consider one on tracks or would you consider one with wheels? About how far will this site be from the river? Are the barges loud enough to hear so you know if there is one coming you want to watch?

      Ahead and salt the shit out of it. But never in the country.

    • @CaptainKleeman
      @CaptainKleeman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      kevin neel well in my experience any stone that has lime mixed in (or some kind of fine material that packs) works the best. BUT, the key to a road not washing out is having good crown and good ditches. If the water stays on the road all the way down; it will always wash out regardless the stone that is used. Have to get it off the road and keep it off. Hope that makes sense and good luck!
