Be honest. People tuned in for this, & Tom Slick, whenever George of the Jungle was on. At least I did. Fact, my disappointment in the Live Action movie of George of the Jungle, opposed to live action movies of Tom Slick & Super Chicken?? Immeasurable
Bring back Saturday morning and Sunday morning cartoons on free over the air television! They can make extra free tv channels for cartoons and all other purposes!
Oh Yeah, Getting up at dawn on Saturday, turning on the TV, waiting for it to warm-up, and then watching the test screen until the cartoons started!!! Usually after the National Anthem. Then we'd roam the neighborhood gathering up pop bottles for the deposit. Ya could get enough to pay for the manatee and a candy bar...!!
Expect for 1 thing, Bill Scott was Super Chicken's voice, Wally Cox didn't do any voice over work for Jay Ward. Cox was Underdog's voice, that's true but that was made by Total Television.
It would've had to be Lodge's son (or was he his grandson?) - the Lodge who ran as Nixon's VP candidate in the 1960 election and the same Lodge who, subsequently, became the US ambassador to Vietnam/Indochina. Anyway, all those pesky details, aside, I doubt Jr. (Lodge) was watching Super Chicken - but, hey, you never know, do you, huh? heh-heh.
Henry Cabot Lodge's family was also the inspiration for the Lodge family in the Archie comic books. Veronica's first name is from actress Veronica Lake.
Jay Ward was different, but just as great in his way as Walt Disney! Too bad very few remember Jay Ward. I'll bet he inspired Spongebob Squirepants! I am going to be Super Chicken for my next Halloween party!!
'I must get grid of Super Chickunm 'Bisleah, get me a 7 pounds wadurmellon' 'Super Chickeumn welld' 'If you had any supervition you woudn't be standing on an X waiting for a wadurmellon' 'That mhuhuhu Whatuh Mellon' 'Aha! by plan worked' 'That whatduhr mellon hitted to the chicken in is one weak spot' 'his memorieh... is gum' 'Exacleah' How much I love these guy's fake accent my my
How much laughs and cheerfulness this cartoon brings to my childhood 💚!
I still remember this cartoon, an oldie but great when I was a kid.

I used to burn lots of sugar when seeing Superchicken!! He made my Saturday mornings!! LOL
Top fave from my early teens. Especially loved the episode when Rhode Island went missing. If you have lived there, you'll get it.
On radio at “oh dark thirty” - while getting ready for the day at Ft. Benning, this was on the radio, better than breakfast.
I watched this cartoon when I was a teenager in the late 1960s. My sister told me it was very popular with the college students. :D
Quality art
LOL 4:23.... "say, aren't you Roger Wilcox?" ..... what Fred says EVERY time Super Chicken tells him to get the plane.

Stephen Holloway I would like to know if Henry Cabot Lodge knew he was renamed Henry Cabot Henhouse III in Super Chicken?
