Hiya guys, I've fished all my life,on the float mostly. Then started watching des,Tommy, and lee and the way they explained things was great, so started on the method and oh my days guys, I'm bagging up every time I'm at a venue,I've never had so many carp in my net and it's so easy to learn and tune the method, the baiting and prep is easy, in my mind it's the easiest and most enjoyment I've had fishing for years, anybody out there watching this video pay attention when watching and right down the tackle needed, go get it watch how to make the rigs (or buy ready made ones) after you've already tried using the method first and get on the bank, you'll have a great days fishing i promise you. and thank you for the videos to guys 🇬🇧 🎣 ✊🏼
I'm 49 and not fished since my teens. My eldest son is now a teen and we have started going together. Obviously we have limited skills. This video,is the best we have seen up to now with regards method fishing. Des was calm, relaxed and thorough in his masterclass. We both learnt a hell of a lot, especially the prep of the groundbait, and size of pellets to use. Thanks for a superb tutorial. Liked and subbed.
Good to see it's not only me putting a wayward cast in, I've sat behind Des in a world championship, a superb angler no doubt, and also sat with a Dutch international Feeder angler ,who's skill and accuracy was on another level.
I spend many hours watching coaching vids by all the top name's des always does some of the best but all the lads seem happy to hand on quality info that really can improve your angling. Thanks
I’ve just started fishing after a 25 year break, I learnt how to use Preston innovations method feeder last week and this weekend just gone, I caught a total of 37 fish which included 13 carp, top weight was 9lb. Not quite near my pb of 14lb 3oz, but I’m enjoying this method so much
Thanks des,Lee and Tommy tried the method today for the first time and really had a good day Thanks for all the tips and advice keep up the good work guys...and tight lines
Hi Des, Great video with some excellent tips and techniques for Method Feeder fishing… just love Fishing for F1s and Carp - Brilliant sport. Regards, Wayne 😀👍
Big fan of Des Ship, but I do find it strange that so many match anglers backwind, when they pay a fortune for a high quality reel? I never backwind, and never seen the need, but each to their own. Well done Des another excellent video.
That was a really helpful video I couldn't really get my head around method feeding because I usually fish with the pole but no I fully understand thanks:)
Like many others I have also returned and using preston products, but fishing on a budget and not using a full bag. So is it possible to make your bags to seal to keep the unused fresh
Great video. Had my first session on Sunday fishing the method on a small commercial 1/2 hour from my house. Took a bit of time to set up but after that I was only having to wait a few mins for bites! Managed to catch my first ever Tench on this method too! I’ve heard good things about the Monster rod too!
Hi John, it's a Quick Release Method Mould. Makes filling feeders so much quicker and easier. Here's a link to them; www.prestoninnovations.com/en/products/quick-release-method-moulds
Great video, thanks Des. Perfect timing as I'm new to the method feeder. I fished Woodland View last week and found the water was very blue. I bought some pellets on site which explained it all, they were blue and gave off a blue mist in the water. Guessing you were allowed to use your own pellets for the film?
Hi Paul, yes we were allowed to use our own pellets for this filming. The water is blue but it is also absolutely solid with fish! We hope these tips help :)
Напрашивается вопрос: если запрос делается под противоположный берег, то почему бы не взять 3м удочку и не забросить справа и слева от себя, тоже самое получится на таком аквариуме скорее всего, и не надо столько дорогущих снастей приобретать?
For first amazing video, i wish asking you one thing. I see you use no stiki pellets. place in water for 10/15sec then rest for 10mins. You don't add any glue? I know sonubaits selling two version to fin perfect pellets, stiki and no stiki.
Hi Benares, Des prefers to use normal 2mm fin Perfect pellets when fishing up to shallow islands. However, he does use the Stiki 2mm fin Perfects when fishing in deeper water.
Hi Des, just started up fishing again and tried float fishing and also using a cage which I prefer (a much more relaxing days fishing i think) but just purchased a method and watching vids on how to use it, When using a cage I get the line tight so I can see the bites, do you do the same with method or do you keep the line slack???
Great video des.... but your using ground bait and I thought the rules at woodlands view were no ground bait. also the pellets you use look like the fin perfect... and again the rules at woodlands are fishery pellets only
Hi I do method feeder fishing and I have the preston x6s series seat box 23 mm square leg it want a but rest but but I don't no witch one to get could you help me or tell me with one to get Thanks
Hello. Can someone tell me whats the second pellet the one after the krill bandum 7mm at 25:10. Thank you, i do not have a good english and i can not understand.
iv done 2 sessions on the method feeder now and caught three carp total, im happy witht he results but i just cant get my head around the fact that my bait is this on the feeder after hitting the water lol. only ever float fished before and the first bite i had on the method just immediately wrapped around. the other 2 were delicate, so i presume its just about learning whats a bite and whats a knock??? the temptation to strike at nibbles is huge also i dont have a proper quiver tip so im just using a pellet waggler lol
Can you please tewll me about new in-line dura u have, i want to use large as i already got mould for it, but undersided if i can use number 8 hooks and 12mm bites with it, because for example in ESP method feeder much more space for the bite, but if you say it's ok with this sizes to use wth large preston dura in-line methos i go for it, please answer, thank you..
The price does fluctuate but no where near that amount Artur. Make sure you shop around to find a better price, or order it from the UK and get them posted to you.
What a brilliant video. Jam packed with information. Thank you. I am thinking about getting my rods out of the shed again. Since we've had children I've not had much free time. I used to do all my fishing on using a float, but would love to give the method a go now. You say you Yiu are using a 30g method feeder here. On your website it shows you produce a large and small. Which one were you using in the session here?
Des ,(Anyone )I just bought a monster 11 ft pellet waggler rod .if i fancied a change and used this method, Could i get away with it using the same rod ?Monies tight atm so dont really want to buy another rod 😊
Hi, Just coming back to fishing so doing a lot of research, I understand about using the reel clip to ensure the cast is the same distance each time but doesn't this then take the clutch out of play? If you are on the clip and you get a hard bite and a run how do you give line to the fish? And conversely, if I cast out and then take the line off the clip to allow the clutch to work and I get a fish that goes on a run how do I find my distance again without having to re-plumb etc? Any help gratefully received. Cheers.
That's the main problem with fishing with a clip. I find it depends on where your fishing and what's stocked. If your somewhere where the fish are only a couple pound you can usually get away with it but any bigger and you risk snapping off. I use a tight elastic band, this does the same thing but if a fish runs then the band will slip off. Or you can wrap your line around a couple bank sticks before each cast, clip then remove the clip when it hits the water
Nice vid, but this looks like packed with carps. Try to do that easy fishing in more wild places.. Probs the end of fishing would be resoulting with 0 fish.

Dear Desmond,
i have just two words for you: absolutely perfect ! :)
You are my method - hero ;)
Greetings from germany 🙋🏻♂️

Brilliant Wayne glad you are enjoying it :)
Thanks des,Lee and Tommy tried the method today for the first time and really had a good day Thanks for all the tips and advice keep up the good work guys...and tight lines
Brilliant video Des. What is confusing though is when you say take the back wind OFF you are actually putting the back wind ON (enabling it)
As a big carp angler mostly I love fishing for smaller carp big tench on the method.
In an increasingly bigger is better world , totally agree with the ten foot rod comment . thanks des for vid .
I love your feeder fishing videos and preston innovations
Thanks Samuel, all the best.
Really nice to watch and see you enjoying your fishing Des, best job in the world, really good tips thanks Dez 🎣👌👌🎄👍
Hi Des, Great video with some excellent tips and techniques for Method Feeder fishing… just love Fishing for F1s and Carp - Brilliant sport. Regards, Wayne 😀👍
Great video, Des. Gonna be fishing on the Leeds and Liverpool canal tomorrow using method and float.
Big fan of Des Ship, but I do find it strange that so many match anglers backwind, when they pay a fortune for a high quality reel? I never backwind, and never seen the need, but each to their own. Well done Des another excellent video.
Awesome !! What a great Video !! Cheers Des !!
That was a really helpful video I couldn't really get my head around method feeding because I usually fish with the pole but no I fully understand thanks:)
i hope these come out soon on the european market great video like always
Very good video, great commentary, very clear, some great tips there. Well done sir
Great video - which quiver tip do you use with this setup?
des ships videos are awesome
Thanks Samuel, we're glad you like them :)
Great video! Just one question. How much times do you cast feeder before you leave it to sit? Do you just cast every 5 mins in beginning or? Thank you
Great vid, now to get out on the bank with my 10 foot Monster rod on the method and hopefully do the business!
Like many others I have also returned and using preston products, but fishing on a budget and not using a full bag. So is it possible to make your bags to seal to keep the unused fresh

Love the pellet wetter
Great video Des. What was method feeder gizmo you used when you loaded the feeder? Tia
Hi John, it's a Quick Release Method Mould. Makes filling feeders so much quicker and easier. Here's a link to them; www.prestoninnovations.com/en/products/quick-release-method-moulds
it fantastic des shipp i use both and got banjo feeder and method feeder way forward great tip aswell cheer des u are professional one
Great video can you tell me what reel your using cheers
It was a prototype reel we had on test Steve.
great vid but do wish you had not used keepnets when not in a match , Love the fish
Des why do you always seem to use the 2mm pellets? Do you use 4mm in summer when carp are feeding confidently to get through the smaller fish
Des great video as always👍👍
Just a couple of questions
What hook size are you using and what reel is it you used.
Cheers and
How long will it normaly take before a pegg starts to get going with the method feeder?
Hate watching these videos, i get to see stuff i havent got or even thought of like the pellet wetter. Fantastic idea!
Wow des those casts with the cage feeder were about 10 feet apart! ;)
Always a good idea to spread the bait out ;)
I didn’t see him cast a cage feeder??🤔🤔
Forgot professionals dont know what they are doing! Lol....... obviously done for a reason. This guy has helped me improve my fishing over the years!
@@UKprestoninnovations So is it a good idea to spread out or not?
Great video, thanks Des. Perfect timing as I'm new to the method feeder. I fished Woodland View last week and found the water was very blue. Hi,nice vid mate.I notice the rules for Woodland View say no groundbait?Does this not count on the method,as I notice you were using it?🙂
Quality video.
Напрашивается вопрос: если запрос делается под противоположный берег, то почему бы не взять 3м удочку и не забросить справа и слева от себя, тоже самое получится на таком аквариуме скорее всего, и не надо столько дорогущих снастей приобретать?
how long will that half of a bag of pellets last when using a feeder??
Hi im new to feeder fishing do you keep it clipped up all the time if not how do you get it back to the right place thanks
If it’s Woodland View why are you not using their blue pellets ?
Des... what is the recommendation for groundbait on the feeder for carp in open water? 👍
the f1 green is this the Sonubaits Supercrush F1 Green
So is he using the groundbait or the pellets on the feeder? Or is this all just sales?
What feeder are you using?
when's best to know when to use a small or large feeder please Des ??
Most of the time Des uses a Small Method Feeder, however if he is targeting very large carp he will use a large feeder.
Hi .. have you got a link for the ics inline tube and bombs ? Thanks
Hello what is the terminal tackle? Like brand etc. As I love the quick change system from the bomb to the feeder and would like to purchase it!
Preston ICS system
So your rod points towards? I thought it had to be in line with the shore.
HI Des, why do you use a keepnet when pleasure fishing?
We wanted to use a keepnet whilst filming so we made it as close to match fishing conditions as possible.
What reel size are you using with the 10ft feeder ? Cheers
For first amazing video, i wish asking you one thing. I see you use no stiki pellets. place in water for 10/15sec then rest for 10mins. You don't add any glue? I know sonubaits selling two version to fin perfect pellets, stiki and no stiki.

Des likes a small amount of tension in the tip. Just a gentle curve.
Great video des.... but your using ground bait and I thought the rules at woodlands view were no ground bait. also the pellets you use look like the fin perfect... and again the rules at woodlands are fishery pellets only
What band ems are they. Sinkers or floaters. Thanks
The band Um wafters from Sonubaits
Just curious, in this video you're fishing the far margin, would you recommend using the same tactics in your near margin?
Once the weather warms up, definitely.
I've some questions about how to connect the line on top of the preston elastic hybride method
Hi I do method feeder fishing and I have the preston x6s series seat box 23 mm square leg it want a but rest but but I don't no witch one to get could you help me or tell me with one to get
Thanks
Nice video , very helpful !
Can anyone help me with the name of the location .
Cheers
Do you mark your line or are you leaving it in the clip the whole time?
Leave it on the clip, when you get a fish on you have time to reel a couple of turns on the reel.
Too videos man love it.

Hi, yes the large Dura Flat Method Feeder will be perfect for your requirements.
Ty bought it already 2 weeks ago test it only 1 time and catched carp 4.5kg)
I have questions why the method feeders so expensive in Europe in Poland price is about 4£ ?in uk I was pay 1.8£
The price does fluctuate but no where near that amount Artur. Make sure you shop around to find a better price, or order it from the UK and get them posted to you.
i reckon someone could make a killing selling them to the US
Feederowym Szlakiem z Arturem Rodakiem . In Latvia they cost 1 € . 1 € is about 0.90 £
Good vid
What reel is des using?
A prototype of the Inertia reels which have recently been released.
Super !!!

Waggler rods aren't designed for casting heavier weights such as feeders. It could lead to a broken rod

new reel ????
If you want to cmfish on the other side of the pond just go to that side ...... instead of casting 20 meters you have to cast 5 meters ...
CRACKING VIDEO , BUT DIDNT THINK YOU CAN USE GROUNDBAIT AT WOODLAND VEIW
Further you are away, less chance of spooking the swim
Bravo
Why do you put the Desgorger up your hat ?
So it's always at hand.
i can find this vidéo in french ?
Don;t worry Michel, we're working on getting this translated
Preston Innovations Merci thanks you could you send when is Will finish
PCR 4000 ? or?
whats F1 ?
It's a type of fish, a carp essentially.
Thought it was a hybrid of a Crucian and a common?
method feeders are not allowed at woodland view fishery
groundbait is not allowed either
Nice vid, but this looks like packed with carps. Try to do that easy fishing in more wild places.. Probs the end of fishing would be resoulting with 0 fish.
