Love it! Somehow your version made me realise that S;G is even crueller than I first realised, as the 'default' worldline has very little effect on Okabe initially - he doesn't know Kurisu. But through his machinations the default becomes unacceptable. No idea how I just realised but thanks

It's even crueler than that. Because he jumped world lines, he kept moving to worlds where small things changed or major things. Eventually he either has to lose Mayori or lose Kurisu. But Kurisu knows he cannot choose so she chooses for him. After he got back. The world line was normal but ended up having to go back and kill her while Mayori and Suzuha sacrificed themselves so he will go back and fix it. His entire story is based off of others sacrificed of others for his happiness. Faris lost her dad. Ruka lost his chance to be a girl. Kurisu lost her life. Mayori and Suzuha lost their lives. Just so he could be happy. Not even knowing if it would work. Some would say that it's based on him saving them. But he was being a selfish, lonely, mad scientist who fell in love....
@@jasonjohnson6593 and the thing is the whole thing that started it all was an accident with the dmail. He didn’t even do it on purpose, which makes it crueler because it was all the choice of Steins Gate for him to go through all the heartache

Steins;Gate is one of the few shows that makes me emotional knowing I can never watch it for the first time and this cover made me feel that. Amazing cover.

Eh. Production-wise yes, albeit I would imagine Chiyomaru Shikura wouldn't quite be satisfied with the lyricswriting.
@@SeralyneYT I don't think there is a way to make an english version of this song to make it sound nice and be true to the original lyrics. That cover was as close to the original as it could and I appreciate it as it is.
@@zetsu8635 I mean yeah. That doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. A few weeks ago I rewrote a line that nagged me (should still be singable, but also isn't perfect, but it hits the accuracy better):
"And in this moment I'm flying and crossing between - a new worldline every single blink. And I'm doing it all for the sake of protecting your cute smile"
The reason for the change is primarily because "worldline" was broken up, which... doesn't really work. And just "world" makes me think of Anonymous;Code (another entry into the series).
This is still better than most other covers I've seen, but it also doesn't have the particular level of attention to detail that this series commands in-terms of song-writing.

Nah Tyers version is in my opinion the best.
Just wished we had a full version of it though.
It follows the rhythm, the lyric translation, and the story very well.
I feel Nate and Amalee lately are relying a little bit on the electric boosts if that make sense.
Someone educate me the musical terminologies.
For example Core Pride is rock and has a small deep tone voice to it.
Nates second version made it electronic and his pitch was higher than before.
Hacking to the Gate is by far one of my most listened to anime openings, and im SO freaking excited to hear this from you Amalee

This is really solid! Easily the best English cover of Hacking to the Gate I've heard, both in terms of lyrics and performance. The lyrics fit pretty well to the original meaning, whilst also maintaining the rhythm of the song, whilst you can also feel the energy of the song in AmaLee's performance. I hope she covers other Steins;Gate (and Steins;Gate 0) songs!

I'd kept playing this every time I'm a step closer in time travel research.
The emotions and the meaning of the lyrics really did hit home where I remember the story so clearly from my memory. I almost cried listening to it at the second half and knowing what those lyrics mean't. I really did missed the show itself and I'm glad they adapted Steins;Gate 0 and showed how much of a precious series the 1st one was to 0. This really brought alot of good memories back and just reminded me how much of a masterpiece this series was. Thank you for making this.

Okay so, here’s why this means so much to me personally:
Every day that I work out, I always finish my cardio listening to Hacking to the Gate, increasing the volume every time the chorus is about to come on, and going first at 80% of my full speed for the first chorus, 90% for the second one, and 100% until the last chorus dies down.
As such, I listen to Hacking to the Gate 5 times every week. I’ve been looking for a cover, English or otherwise, that captures the overstimulating energy of the chorus, especially its first few notes, and I’ve consistently failed to find one until now. I’ll be listening to this about 100+ times in the coming year.
