  • What's Up, Anglers!?!
While I was trout fishing in Utah targeting tiger trout, I had broke off a nice fish! I'm 100% sure it was a tiger trout that I almost caught! Trout fishing can be exciting and fun, using jerk baits to catch trout is as awesome as it gets! Trout like the tigers and brown trout are very aggressive and territorial. Throwing a true bait fish imitation to catch trout is next level! I'm stoked if you find this video informational and help you catch more trout!
I was humbled by this presumably tiger trout that broke me off something fierce! I enjoyed fishing for trout on the jerk bait and plan to do more of it!

Check out the G Loomis TSR Line. That’s my preference for throwing the jerk bait for trout. I fish the 6’7 and the 5’2…both have a ton of backbone but still soft enough tip for the right action! Get made!!

That “BlackChrome” would work well for jerks. I believe with a 2000 series reel because my experience the 1000 seems to twist the line up and wrap around the pole once in a while depending on retrieval speed …

I actually was thinking that! I used the 9’ for pyramid but have an 8’2” I think would work. I was also thinking of the Feather from Phenix too. Hmmm…Gotta test it out!

@@TroutMadeAnglerCo I feel u bro 😎 … the 7’ 9” was legit for whatever I was tossing … Iron feather is good too for sensitivity; however in my experience and opinion I’d rather use the BC for the jerks, jigs maribu 1/4 & 1/8oz so I can load up during strikes… love both rods tho tbh best I’ve had hands down

Yeup, I dont mess with the light braid, I go with 10lb braid and either 6lb floro or xxx izorline smoke mono just like at Pyramid in Nevada, med light 6lb rod and a 1000 size reel.

That’s what I’m thinking too. Definitely have to upgrade to work this technique and land some fish!

Oh man. I hate losing lures. Someone will catch that fish and get your lure as a bonus...haha. Yo. Thats the 2nd time I've seen you breakoff. Braid has zero stretch and you swung for the fences bro. I fish for the Hooksets. I have gotten to really love setting the hook. Thus I use a Pline which has some stretch. I can set it hard with no issues. I was getting ready to try some braid but I may just stick to Pline and have a hardy Hooksett. I guess there pros and cons.

You’re right Super! Man it’s tough the braid hasn’t really been good to me, I’ve used it without flipping it on a new side, and didn’t re-tie but still, definitely need to figure it out. If I did straight line it’d be Izzor line but I had issues with the 6# test, too much memory. I’ve used PowerPro braid and Phenix 10# braid work well. Thanks for watching my man!
