    The Bose Sleepbuds have a phone free mode which means that when set up with the sound and volume level you CAN just take them out of the case and put them in your ears, you only need to return to the Bose Sleep app if you want to change the sleep sound or the volume.

      Oh really?! That's good to know! I knew it had a phone free mode but i never tried it. For some reason I thought you had to use your phone to get it going first then turn phone free mode on. Thank you for the info!

      @@NickBorsellino Hi Nick…. Sorry I think I’ve mislead you / you missed what I said. You do have to use the app on your phone initially to set up the sound playing and volume level you want the sound to play at but once you’ve done that and set the sleepbuds to “phone free mode” in the app then you don’t need your phone to be nearby anymore. You just take the sleepbuds straight out of the case and they start playing. Still trying to decide if they are for me! They do help as I work night shifts. Thanks

    In all the reviews about these buds I do miss one thing. They are all meant for people with smartphones (not only by you, but by all the youtube-reviewers).There still are a lot of people who do not own or want a smartphone, because they are to complicated for them. However these buds do work without a smartphone. The Bose too. It has a Phonefree mode. If somebody without a smartphone gets a little help from a friend or familymember to configure the buds with the right sound and volume (and with the Bose buds the phonefree mode) they can also use the buds without it having to connect to a smartphone ever again. They only have to open the box and insert the buds in their ears. (And keep the box connected to a powersource.)

    • @NickBorsellino
      @NickBorsellino  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you're right. I didn't even consider the fact that some people don't have smartphones. The QuietOn3 are noise cancelling earbuds for sleeping that don't connect to your phone at all they are a standalone unit. But they don't play noise, just eliminate it. I found them underwhelming though and I don't think they are worth the money...

    I have both the Bose and the Amazfit Buds, I prefer the Bose for really one reason, the battery life. I found the Amafit would run out of battery life around 5 hours. I want the “noise” on all night, my wife snores and if they are set to turn off when I fall asleep and my wife starts snoring it wakes me up. Having the Amazafit turn off after falling asleep was the only way I could get the battery to last through the night. Thanks for the review!

    • @NickBorsellino
      @NickBorsellino  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very interesting. I had the Amazfit set to turn off when I fall asleep automatically but they would always turn off while i was still awake so I changed it to 3 hours and it seems to work for me. Although i do with that it was still playing if i wake up during the night so I might have to change them and test it out.
      I do notice that the battery on the case of the Bose isn't very good. If i charge them and don't use them the battery drains so when I go to use them they are dead (if they have been sitting for a couple weeks) but the Amazfit hold the charge in the case. Not sure what that is about.

      I just bought the zenbuds and am having a lot of problems with their connection. After connecting them 3+ times and upgrading the software (the app showed an update was needed), the battery went from 98% to 76% in this time. The white noise died in the left earbud 5 min later. They lose connection even though I'm right beside my phone. They also don't record my sleep data, which I assume is due to this. I fell asleep before the right one turned off so I'm not sure when that happened. I think I'm going to return them, or sell them because the return might be tricky from Canada. They were hard to get, I had to order off HiFiGo. Amazfit doesn't ship to Canada.

My only issues it is the app sucks, very hard to used, for tracking your asleep, and the connections, I have to disconnect and connect my Bluetooth every time I used the app, that is my only concern about the app, but other than that Iove this sleep earbuds, I wish have the money to buy the real boss and compare them in person! What’s the actual difference between active noice cancellation and noice masking?

    • @NickBorsellino
      @NickBorsellino  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i don't know the technically mumbo jumbo but noise cancelling somehow takes the outside sound and negates it so you have complete silence. Noise masking is basically just adding different sounds to cover up the outside noises

As you mentioned in the video, I also find Zenbuds more comfortable and lighter, but SB2 does block out a bit more sound for me. Hey Nick, Thanks for the reviews. I got the Bose sleepbuds 2 for Christmas from my snoring husband. I was sooooo excited!! Unfortunately I can't sleep with them. I find them too uncomfortable. So I began looking for reviews on other types of in ear sleep aids. You have reviewed several that I'm interested in. I particularly like the comparison between the Bose and the Amazfit. In your comparison photo, it looks like the plastic part that actually goes into the ear canal (the part the soft squishy tips fit onto) is a bit shorter on the Amazfit. Is this true? I think that is the part that is causing my issue with the Bose buds. Also what is the lenght of that part (the part that goes into the ear canal without the interchangable foam tips) like on the Quieton 3? And when will you post a review of the Quieton 3 after actually sleeping with them? Thanks again. Keep up the good work!

    • @NickBorsellino

      Hi!!! After using all the different brands the Amazfit are the most comfortable in my ears. Something to do with the shape as you mentioned. As for the QuietOns, I find them to be TOO QUIET and I just can't sleep with them. I can hear the blood moving in my brain and my heartbeat as well as my breathing. It's just too quiet for me.... I did do some quick tests with my girlfriend fake snoring and the QuietOn cut out the most snoring, the Bose came in 2nd and the Amazfit cut out the least snoring. So that has to be taken into consideration as well. Unfortunately none of them win in every category. I have been using the Bose more recently and gotten used to the eartips. I got a new phone and for some reason couldn't connect the Amazfit to it and I've heard many people complain about connection issues with the Amazfits. I should probably make a video recapping all of what I just told you and more. I hope this helps somewhat and I wish there was a clear winner! It used to be the Amazfit for me but since they no longer work they have lost the lead. Also, I don't have snoring to compete with so that wasn't a concern for me. I'm just trying to cut out walking in the hallway and doors closing when I go to bed earlier than my family. Happy New Year!!!

      @@NickBorsellino I think the connection problems has to do with the bluetooth connection. Turning off the bluetooth on the phone for a second and turning it on again will help connecting the Amazfit. It's not what you want, but it works (at least with my phone). I do prefer the Bose for a couple of reasons. I wake up every night a couple of times. When it's all quiet because the Amazfit has stopped (because I fell asleep and it turned of because of the smart mode or if the battery is empty when turning off the smart mode) I do really wake up. With the Bose the sound keeps playing and I fall asleep again real easy. Also the Amazfit plugs make noise on my pillow with every move and the Bose does not.

    I recently bought the Bose Sleepbuds 2 and I like them except for one thing. They don't go loud enough in my opinion. I didn't expect them to go real loud but if they could go a little louder they would be perfect for me. Does the Amazfit Zenbuds go louder than the Bose Sleepbuds 2 ?

    • @NickBorsellino
      @NickBorsellino  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well i think they are intentionally designed to not be too loud to cause issues with hearing loss or disturbing your sleep. I will try to remember to check them both tonight and see if one goes louder than the other

      @@NickBorsellino Thank you! I don't need them to be a whole lot louder but just a little bit would help. I have a neighbor with a dog that on occasion barks late at night and the Bose almost drowns it out. If it were a little louder it would probably work.

      @@bryanthompson4323 well i just tested them both on full volume and there is no way i could sleep with it that loud! The Amazfit seemed slightly louder but the audio quality got a little crackly on full volume. I tried them both on ocean waves noises. What type of noise are you listening to, that might help as I'm sure some are louder than others. My favorite is warm static though

    Curious if you have had any issues with the bose after some time? I have been extensively researching both of these models and I have read that Bose discontinued their sleepbuds because of ongoing battery and performance issues - have you experienced any of these? I want to purchase one of the two but it seems both end up not working after a certain point in time. thanks for your help & opinion.

      I think that was the original version and they actually recalled them. The version 2 i have not heard of that problem. However I have noticed that if i don't charge the Bose regularly, the case doesn't hold a charge long-term. The Amazfit i can not charge for weeks and then decide to use them one night and they are still charged. A few times I've gone for the Bose, they are dead, so I use the Amazfit. I've had some weird connection issues with the Amazfit but they always work in the end

      Hmmm. I'll reach out to quieton and see if they will send me a pair. The last ones I purchased myself and didn't like and I had to pay to return them which was a bummer. Not sure I like the noise cancelling now that I've got noise masking. The old ones were so big and hurt so bad I wonder if they have made them small enough to not cause pain
