Wonderful job as always. Ghost has made me fall in love with music again. Never thought I could feel the same passion for music the way I did in my teens until discovering Ghost.
Snap! Lol. I thought the days of waiting for the release of new music were behind me. I came to Ghost a little late. Not tiktok late, about 2018. I've been sucking up every ounce of information and lore, collecting merch, and buying vinyl for the first time in over 30 years! Love them 🖤🖤🖤
Told you, this dude can write such catchy pop-hooks into seemingly dark heavy rock/heavy metal, and the lyrics have a sharp wit, Tobias is brilliant and his following grows by the day; great band to see live, highly recommend, the audience are so focused and into it and it's actually like a family friendly environment, (parents bring their kids, with hearing protection of course, and the kids love it!) It is pure theater, it's pure schtick and it's works perfectly, not to cover up lesser musical ability but to amplify the entire experience.
Ghost has so much depth in each and every song; therefore, a detailed analysis, slicing it into pieces, is really great. If you decide to cover "Kaisarion," I recommend that you include "Imperium" in front of it. That's the way it was meant to be heard and also the way the concerts begin. Keep up great work.
You're in for one hell of a journey. Judging by your Rammstein videos, you know your stuff. And the fact that you're open to new music, i bet you'll get people requesting stuff for a long time to come.
More Ghost! Happy to see your journey. :) You have so much awesome Ghost songs to discover, for example He Is, Cirice, Dance Macabre etc. Ghost is an awesome journey and they are absolutely amazing live. Best show i've ever been on. :)
I got here because I'm ghost fan, but i stayed because i really really enjoyed your, i guess i could say, breakdown of the songs, makes me enjoy them more! Glad to see you enjoy them too, amazing video!
8:36 The bridge part - I don’t think the bass drop out, it is still there but plays in a higher key along with the guitar so probably sound a bit masked by it. I think what really drops out is the power chord guitar.
What the bass is doing at that part is joining the lead guitar & synth organ playing the main melody. Its just playing it up at the 12th fret to where its in the same octave as the guitars' tuning, rather than down in the bass octave. It adds an emphasis to that melody so when the verse starts & the bass goes back to the roots with the rhythm guitar palm muting, it enhances that change from bridge to verse. Thats how I see it at least lol
I love to see people find Ghost. May I recommend "From the Pinnacle to the Pit"? One of my favorite songs, but also just the fact that these two videos seem to belong together. th-cam.com/video/6A-IoOEPbUs/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction. I love your insight, and deep dive into the various aspects of production. I think one aspect about the chorus is there is an (Hammond-style?) organ mixed in with the dual guitars. It sounds like the organ is a bit distorted, and sent through a phaser or chorus - to give it that low end swirl. Ghost (Tobias) is one of the best song writers working right now.
You got a subscription from me since the Call Me Little Sunshine video, and, now… Honestly, am I living or just waiting for your next Ghost video? Their quality is superb! I love your analysis, I love the points you highlight, and I love your explanations, especially because I play guitar, so my listening is kind of biased since I automatically tend to focus on the guitars first (not that I don’t pay attention to the other elements of the song, but I might be missing things you, as a producer, for example, understand better). Also, I feel like talking to a friend about my excitement for this band, like, sometimes I catch myself exclaiming “I know right??“ to the stuff you say (that happened a lot in the Spillways video) 😂 Anyway, thank you for dedicating your time to these videos! Now, let me start this one, it’s one of my favorite songs from them ❤ I’m excited to find out details I’ve been missing while listening to it.
Great reaction again! You mentioned in your written comments during the song that Tobias looked worried. He certainly would because a square hammer were used in the Catholic church to smash the forehead of a deceased pope to make sure he is really dead (not sure if they still do, though). Quite radical, I think! While Tobias is a papa (anti pope in this context), he should be worried for having his forehead smashed during sleeping! 😀
Thank you for for doing a reaction where when you listen to the song you actually LISTEN to it at least all the way through once snd don't constantly stop. Pause and re star it having to immediately say something.
So for this one Tobias really wanted a powerful statement that would go over like gang busters live, and I think he succeeded on all levels. For this song I think he borrowed from two great ones; Blue Oyster Cult's "Burning For You" and KISS' "Unholy," both well worth your time.
Watcher in the sky (studio) next please!
Love the clue for the next frontman. The Red Cardinal😊

Another good reaction and analysis ❤
two songs I can highly recommend are "Hunters Moon" and "Darkness At The Heart Of My Love". Seriously, two of the best songs they've put out IMO
