How about trying stuff not mainstream? Like eg Collide - Soul crush Aesthetic Perfection - The Siren Echoberyl - A Prey Katatonia - July Android Lust - Intimate Stranger
This song is so important to Ghost fans. Especially young ones who feel they don't belong. Thank you for doing it. The section where he reaches out to the girl is replicated live. He can't touch anyone's hands anymore as they reach out, the venues are too big, but he still singles out someone who wants the attention, and the gestures are the same. It's called being 'Ciriced'.
Yeah, this song along with spillways really resonate with me. I grew up with a lot of religious trauma from growing up in a very strict Evangelical Christian household and the lyrics behind both this one and spillways call out to me and they both make me feel seen and validated.
It's been fun watching this band evolve over the last ten years or so, I do remember the buzz around them early on, seeing their stage personas I thought they were much heavier, faster, more aggressive like thrash or black metal then hearing them and being pleasantly surprised, it reminded me of late '70's, early '80's hard rock and metal like Blue Oyster Cult, Uriah Heep and Sad Wings/Sin After Sin era Judas Priest. Of course this was intentional and by design, it's just refreshing hearing that approach after decades of metal bands all competing to be faster, heavier, darker; metal had reached a point where that direction had become like hyperbole and even cliche', bands just trying to out-Slayer one another for the sake of it. Anyways, cool reaction and analysis, they are a great band live, saw them live in 2013 and knew they were on to something, after seeing them twice on the recent Imperatour tours they have come farther than I imagined, Tobias has a brilliant vision for the band and is actually a very good songwriter.
Thanks again for a very great breakdown and analysis on a really great song. I can say that the title shall be pronounced "siris" (the girls name as you hear in the beginning, called out from her mother, says Cirice) but the word is actually an old word for Church and is pronounced something like "Chiriche". Ghost songs has very often double or even triple meanings. Tobias has said about this song that it is about manipulation. It could be manipulation from a person, or a religious society. "I can see through the scars inside you" may in that case be a manipulators words to their "victims". Thanks again and as a recommendation I can give you the band Sabaton. A band writing songs exclusively about war history. The songs are very well done and they are meaningful and storytelling. Try out "Christmas truce" or "Last stand". They have a lot of great music but these are great starters if you are new to them.
I’ll always be happy for anything Ghost. But if you want to try something else, I’d like to recommend Sonata Arctica. Some suggestions: Juliet White pearls, black oceans Fairytale Closer to an animal Take one breath Don’t say a word
I would love to see you react to some Judas Priest (night crawler is a personal favourite) or dragon force for some epic power metal and guitar solos (fury of the storm is a classic)
as a producer. do you know the reason why nearly all musicvideos on youtube are (sometimes drasticly) poorer in sound quality compared to the original audio? the loudness is maxed out with no headroom, but the original-audio still sounds mich louder und fuller. i dont get it. :/
to stay at ghost, compare for example this both versions of square hammer. video: th-cam.com/video/VqoyKzgkqR4/w-d-xo.html original-audio: music.th-cam.com/video/M6n0XBJqLfM/w-d-xo.html

I really love how you "get" Ghost: our guy has a point of view, he is fearless, unapologetic, unwavering. And the music is just ..So..Good..
Awesome reaction! Would love some more ghost, any and every song, but maybe faith, ritual, or Griftwood

If you listen to the Organ part it sounds very much like "Iron Butterfly". That just can´t be with no reason. For you who is tonedef can´t hear it.
You really should also react ro Battle Hymn by Manowar. It's a masterpiece. And Rats by Ghost is phenomenal.
