krita, csp, or I also like light brush (it's a new one). Each painting software brings something of its own to the table, they are all different in their own good way. Just find which one you like/comfortable using.
@IlgınKoca-g2z You can use illustrator but the purpose of that program is very different than a regular drawing, painting, general art making app. A vector program like that won't share much with what we teach and we recommend something like Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio and programs of that nature.
YES! This is the kind of tutelage I need! The shortcuts section, and using radial menus, as well as the kind of shortcuts a professional uses regularly are the kinds of notions I just never really knew about. After installing the latest Wacom drivers I noticed the radial menu (my old shortcuts were lost during a re-installation), and I couldn't make heads or tails of the radial menu and how best to use it. I just had no idea what to put in there. But hearing about all the skew, transform and marquis tools makes a lot of sense and I hope that I can eventually go keyboardless too (at least mostly anyway). That would allow me to move my kb to the side and have more space for my tablet as it currently sits very low where my mouse pad is, at around waist level ;(
You don't even need a computer to honestly or technically even a drawing tablet. You can literally draw on your smartphone with ur fingers. No pressure sensitivity though so its not the best, but you can do alot with just ur thumb.
Procreate is more full-featured and pretty directly comparable to the Photoshop concepts we'll discuss in this course, so I'd recommend it! That said, Fresco is a great drawing tool too so if you're comfortable using it you definitely can for the time being and decide if you want to switch later.
@@JonNeimeister I have tips and tricks about Procreate I've developed throughout desperation learning how to paint digitally with Photoshop tutorials and translating them to limited functions in Procreate. So he mentioned to do your painting in RGB and then convert to CMYK after you are finished (for printing purposes) .. but does that not mess up your colors?? Anytime i've done that, my color profiles get totally thrown off.. So i just paint it CMYK now. Am I missing something within the conversion?
It depends on the colors you're using; some colors just can't exist in CMYK, usually extremely saturated colors. Another possibility is you're using layers and blending modes that work differently in RGB than they do in CMYK. Try saving a copy of your file, flattening the whole painting down to a single layer, then convert to CMYK. Usually the translation is pretty accurate.
