Modified concrete by My own recipe based on a lot of experiments and ingredients I have a detailed guide about it on my patreon more info - instagram.com/stories/highlights/18006497210190599
Not if you use non-shrink grout (or NS grout) as the base material for your mix. Even without a non-shrink mix, the volume is probably small enough that the amount of shrinkage is negligible. You should be able to find NS grout at most hardware stores in as a pre-mix bag.
I think you can use latex paint to color concrete, it has to be water based. There is specific concrete coloring products that are available. Oil based paint will probably ruin the concrete, when pouring concrete foundations they use oil as a release agent on the forms.
Needs strain relief on that wire. Tie it in a knot on the inside before it gets connected to the socket. That way, pulling on the cord just pulls on the knot instead of the electrical connection to the socket.
LED light bulbs like they are using in the video put off very little heat. The drivers get warm, but far from the 60c that PLA deforms at. I have similar LED bulbs and mine have been on for hours and the drivers are maybe in the high 30c temperature range. If they were incandescent bulbs then sure you'd be right, but LED bulbs won't likely cause any issues.
@tonyborrill1789 led bulb are colder, but the shade is printed in vase mode, so the melting point temperature is lowed down. If you turn on for 5 mins is ok.
Great to see how luch you manage to communicate without saying anything on the vídeo... Well done!❤
This video made me feel light and nostalgic for music. great work
I had no idea you could reuse silicone like that, such a smart idea.
💪🏻
Seriously ?
I love the concrete colours. Lit!
what a genius of you to repurpose silicon for molding
Good job, came out great!
You can make the dome in only one piece. Justa add 45 degrees chanfer inside, right before the screw part.
But if it is printed in vase mode, it will be weak.
Ahhh that’s how a plumbus is made
What paint is that for hiding the layer lines? Thanks!
primer
beautiful job😍
Im sorry, how long have you been using plastic for making lamps? Have you noticed any deformation due to temperature in an enclosed space?
it's been tested, it's okay. no any deformation
How many products does one silicone mold make?
200+
@LaO2 that's impressive. Great videos. Keep them coming. 14k subs in 3months and 4vids is super, well done
Is there a particular reason you add the color to the mold?
mostly for beauty
Would it be quicker to use scissors when cutting the silicon into little pieces?
maybe
Maybe a forbidden cheese grader?
just mince it like garlic. so it will reach every corner.
Nice! Doing something like this soon. What concrete do you use?
link to concrete in the description
Thanks, looks good.
But white version could have better seem alignment (randomized or on the edge)
Did you use a special kind of concrete?

is there much shrinkage in the concrete compared to the 3D printed master?

concrete has no shrinkage
Make a course for us mere mortals!
ok
Where can I buy this wonderful lamp?

1:30 what colouring agent are you using? can i use oil based paint?

@ no i mean for the silicone mould
use abs petg or pla ?
pla

Muito top!
I noticed the concrete part had layer lines. Why didnt u make the 3d part from abs and then used acetone vapour?
because it's a prototype
The shade will melt easily.
you know better from behind the monitor.
@LaO2 I know better couse it's 10 years I'm into 3d printing 😉
