    So, I'm curious to know what will happen to outreach organizations that focus on SEO. I guess these are technically called content mills? I've been writing for various companies for almost a year, and I love it. However, one of the companies I write for pretty much only publishes informational articles. The workload has slowed down over the past month, and I wonder if it has anything to do with this. I don't think their job, though, is to pump out super high-quality articles. Their job is to get backlinks on high-authority sites. Since they already publish articles on high ranking sites in Google, I wonder if it'll affect them as well...cause those sites are already trusted in Google's eyes. Hopefully that makes sense. I guess I'm trying to prepare myself also for what may be coming, to outreach organizations too.

    As a travel blogger, I do posts that say“ best things to do in X“. I supply pictures and videos, but Google and Bing may still scrape the best things to do list .. curious how many people would still click the article without knowing that I also had pictures and videos there

      I don't know a whole lot about the travel blogging niche, but I doubt Bard is going to steal much traffic from you on that front. As a user, I would still very much rather read blogs with pictures, videos, and real opinions about where to travel and what to do when I'm there.

    hmmm, I am wondering long term: if all the results for bard are being supplied by people writing articles in blogs and websites and then eventually people generally stop writing articles (because it's not lucrative due to the ai) does the result quality in bard eventually slowly degrade? (like, in a few years)

    • @CorrieWhoWrites
      @CorrieWhoWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting question! I'm not sure I see a grand exodus happening - for instance, news sites and other larger sites are always going to keep producing content. But it will be interesting to see how things unfold.

    Thanks Corrie, so when you do product comparison posts, will you be writing them based on information only, or will you be doing the whole hands on real physical experience thing? Thanks.

      I am planning to get as much real hands-on experience with the products as I can so I can get pictures and other proof that I have actually used the product.

    There have been predictions of the end of something or other since forever. As it says on the front of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Don't Panic. I have been around long enough that I just wait until all the wet hens stop running around and more sensible heads prevail, such as your good self Corrie. It is usually at that point that it turns out that the end of the world is not nigh, not even close, and after a few adjustment we can all carry on on our merry way.
    So thanks for clarifying the situation, it is much appreciated. By the way I like the new look, especially the new AI Corrie. Though how you got a heavy metal lute I don't know.

    And then, in 2024, Google will remove third-party cookies from Chrome so that affiliate sales can no longer be tracked as before. I think a good strategy is to diversify with TH-cam, collecting emails and focusing on selling our own products.

    Do you think law firm blogs count as informational content? I’m just getting established in this niche and have built up a list of about 100 law firm contacts to cold pitch. Do I have to change my niche??

    • @CorrieWhoWrites
      @CorrieWhoWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Conor, as a freelancer, I wouldn't be concerned, especially as far as legal content goes, I don't think people are going to trust and AI bot for legal advice - as well, laws can vary widely from state to state. (congrats on the impressive contact list, by the way!)

      Thank you so much for your answer, Corrie; that makes me feel better. I’m happy to know I can still run with this! Yes, I’m really hoping I can get a client or two with this list of 100 that I have so far! I’m hoping it doesn’t take me a a few hundred emails to land my first client! ;)
      But no matter what, I’ll keep emailing until I have a full book of business!

    I know this is not happening soon but how do you think you can improve authority now? I run a photography business and I started blogging more to expand my business and monetize my blog but I'm in the process of writing informational content.

    • @CorrieWhoWrites
      @CorrieWhoWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Informational content is still good for the foreseeable future, but for the long term you might see less traffic. In general I would target keyword phrases that people will prefer a human opinion on. For example, "What kind of camera should I use for a wedding?" is subjective enough that I think most users would want to get an expert opinion, whereas "What is white balance in photography?" is straight-up factual content that an AI can easily answer. As a photography business, you could also benefit from local SEO, eg. "best wedding photographer in {city, state},"

      Hi Ramon, to be honest, I have zero experience with Google ads, but I highly doubt it will be affected by Bard - Google makes money on ads, after all; it doesn't make sense for them to do anything that cuts back on their own profits.

    When you said you were going to do more review about fitness products, are you talking about products you own, are given to you for review or aggregating what others have said about a particular product?

    • @CorrieWhoWrites
      @CorrieWhoWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Anthony - great question. I have done both in the past but now I am focusing on content featuring my own personal experience with products as much as possible. If I do a "round up review post" (eg. "10 best ____") then I am going to make a point of including at least a couple items that I have personally used myself - it's your unique take and hands-on experience with products that's going to put your blog post above the competition as Google continues to refine their algorithm.

    No need to worry about this, it’ll be years before the impact is felt on the average blogger.
    Sure, maybe scaling back on the info posts might be a strategy. You said it best when you spoke of “buyers intent”. This is somewhat of an overlooked craft.
