This figure is so close to greatness. It just needs a ball joint at the bottom of the neck, butterfly joints, and a ball joint at the lower torso. With all those additions it'd be amazing.
Like you said, butterfly joints probably wouldn't do much going forward but it would've helped with some dynamic posing going back. I really think they could've used the standard Power Rangers torso set up with this figure. The cuts wouldn't have been that jarring (at least for me) and might even work in favour of a more mechanical design.
Finally an upgrade to that old Extremis figure we got years ago. It was just too small. My only gripe is the older figure though it was smaller did have a better diaphragm joint than this one. Here's hoping we get a new Iron Patriot and a new War Machine Model 3 (Initiative Armor) out of this
The extremis is my favorite armor desing of all time; including 616 universe, ultimate universe, what if comics, animated series and MCU. I thing it's has an elegant, fine, modern and aggressive desing.
Looks pretty good. I've wanted an update for a while now. Brighter gold and red would improve it for me. I agree with a couple of the comments about it needing a ball joint at the base of the neck and better torso articulation, ball joint at the waist/ab crunch, butterfly joints at the shoulders and a better ball joint at the diaphragm. How can Hasbro design a figure to lean back more than it can bend forward?
I'm a bit on the fence about this one, which is weird because I actually have a lot of nostalgia for this armor. But the helmet isn't exactly like the Extremis armor in the comic because it's missing those flared out cheekbones, this looks more like how the suit looked in Civil War. I don't know why I feel a bit hesitant to jump on this one and it's not because I'm anti Hasbro, just not sure if I wanna get this one.
You're thinking about the Pentagon armor. People mess up the 2 suits alot. Both look pretty similar as they're both designed by Adi Granov, but they do have subtle differences.
It's a rather solid wave, aside of Yelena "go buy a Shriek on clearance and fix me" Belova. Looking forward to see the Ultimate Cap review, I wanna make an EMH cartoon Cap and that looks like a solid base.
Passing on this one. It just looks off to me somehow. I’ve also never been a fan of the helmet design on this armor either. I do like the muted colors compared to the saturated colors of the Mark 70
Ha! I was wondering when you were going to review this BBTS got this wave crazy early. I was surprised how long they were available on the site, I was tempted but ultimately I passed on them . Great review BTW
I think it’s just the angle of the back of the box? Like it’s “shot” on the back of the box at a lower angle making the figure look like it’s looking forward. You can see that the chin on the head isn’t angled away from the shoulder. But idk cuz I don’t have this figure yet
The Extremis armor was meant to be super slim and form-fitting. Tony couldn't find a way to miniaturize the control systems but with the Extremis virus granting him Technopathy, he could control the armor with his mind. This allowed him to easily store it in a suitcase and the armor plates would just fly and assemble over him.
Wow. Totally appreciate this review. For my money, he's pretty underwhelming. It could be the great shading on the classic art. But man, this fig looks flat. The yellow eyes, the chest triangle looking flat. I dig the coloring that is an homage to that classic art, but they needed to add a wash or something to bring out the details and depth. Right now, I'd put this guy next to the green guy suit from It's Always Sunny.
I have one complaint about this figure: the legs look a bit too long and don't work with the rest of the figure's proportions. It just looks off in that department.
Great review Bro… on the video the head looks a bit to small for the body.. how does that look in person? I’m thinking just looks like that on my phone screen.
Because the waist swivel would have been redundant with the diaphragm joint. Waist swivel or ball-jointed waists are better paired with the ab-crunch joint.
Because it would break the sculpt. Honestly, what the Lightning Collection is doing looks better: Ab crunch at the waist, diaphragm joint for rotation.
@@deathgazer22 Well, this has always been a thing with Iron Man in Marvel Legends. If you've noticed, all of the MCU and most of the modern comic Iron Mans use the diaphragm ball-joint. The classic comic ones use the ab-crunch, waist swivel joint combo. Because like Yellowjacket said, it would break the sculpt. I can imagine actually how ugly the Extremis Iron Man would look with an ab-crunch joint.
I guess it counts, but only from a front view. Is this the same suit from Ultimate MVC 3? Edit: I just loaded up UMVC3, and this looks like the same suit in the game.
I'm so sick of Hasbro giving us chunky, unarticulated Iron Man figures. The laziness in the molds for them to be skipping upper and lower ab crunch, butterfly joints, and proper swivels is an absolute joke. I will never buy an Iron Man figure from Hasbro when import companies are doing him 100 times better.
Getting there, but still looks a little goofy. His torso and chest is so small in comparison to his thighs and legs. Almost making him look feminine. Not to be sexist. I hope Hasbro improves their Iron Man figures soon. I’ve just never really been impressed by their Iron Man figs in general and it’s a shame I’d really like to get one some day
No ab crunch messes the figure up and no split legs action . Why do hasbro has such a hard time with their iron man figures .? It's a pass . The modular iron man is still better .
OOPS!! Iron Man Model 70!!!
Awesome!!!
Did you mention Von Struker being the sleeper and that he's painless. On the box he has pins. @mcucollector24
He does? Oh damn he does on the box! The figure is pinless though, I’ve already opened it
This Iron Man figure would be perfect with an ab-crunch and butterfly shoulders.
Exactly! They were sooo close!
Both lower ab-crunch and butterfly joints would've fit right on the design of the suit, it was right there!
The helmet could use the sculpt of that cheekbone looking shape that is commonly seen on the armor. It doesn’t have it
I would have got two if that was the case
That's all I could think about the whole review! Going backwards on articulation.
This was MY Iron-Man growing up. Might pick him up at some point. He looks AMAZING!
Thank you for gettingnit out of the way early. I was doing straight (x) for doubt at that pose
This to me is perfection. The colors like they are right out of the comics! Can't wait to get mine

I'm gonna buy this and ad them.
Yeah I’m actually surprised by how good it looks. Shame hasbro had to fuck something up as usual.
*actually prefer the paint on the old Terrax wave extremis, but glad this one exists*

The only figure I’ve been most excited for the most of the entire wave.

Feel like we're moving backwards in terms of articulation. I know the old lower torso cuts were ugly but they gave really great ab crunch.
Prometheus armour next please, marvel.

Will the gamerverse atmosphere armor tony stark head fit on this?
Looks good, just needed an ab crunch.
I was wondering if those side disks were supposed to be uneven. Thanks for mentioning it lol!
Passing on this one. It just looks off to me somehow. I’ve also never been a fan of the helmet design on this armor either. I do like the muted colors compared to the saturated colors of the Mark 70
Once Again! An action figure has been found months before release by you! How do you do it? Great review.

I'll be getting it for my Hall of Armor.
I really like the new Marvel Legends figures, but I can't believe they don't have a waist swivel.
A double ball peg neck could've made that superhero pose possible 🤷♂️
I hoped you review the ultimate captain america puff adder baf figure next my guy
This one looks very thin also, ow can a person fit in it? 🤔

It's supposed to be more form-fitting, but yes, it could stand to be a bit bulkier.
@@collegerebel That now comes down to personal preference and artist specific depictions.
I needed a iron spider comparison with the new iron man
And 20th anniversary Captain America for Civil War. Maybe Maria Hill too if it’s not too inconvenient
Thanks for the reviews. As always very helpful for making an informed purchase.
only thing i would change is his eyes, make them match the arc reactor, i might need to get some white paint.
Awesome figure and great review cant wait to be able to get❤❤🤩🤩👍👍👍👍👍👍
Another Iron Man for the Hall of Armor. Great looking figure, just needs ab crunch, it practically has none going forward.
I have to quit preordering from HasbroPulse I always get mine late 😭
Same, how is it that the main company ships out their items last compared to 3rd party sellers? 🤦🏿♂️
Definitely a solid release, da sh** can’t move 💀💀💀💀
Cool but I'll stick with my Model 70 and Age of Ultron Mk XLIII.
Looks like there is still room for improvement with this figure....Eh.... Maybe in another 10 years we'll finally get a great Extremis Iron Man lol
24.99 for an extra pair of hands, blast effects, and no an crunch 🤔
Sure looks cool. Leaves alot to be desired in regards to Function. What a shame.
Would love to see this guy compared to the Modular Iron Man (fav version). Great review. Glad he's not as skinny as the original.
I think that the Terrax BAF wave Extremis Iron Man looks way cooler than this new release?
Puff Adder. Puff Add ya. 🤙
Wow. Totally appreciate this review.

"For the most part" and "pretty close" sounds like a no to me.
Awesome man really looks cool.
Nice!!! It looks so good
Wow looks like theyre going to be out now.👌
Tonys unmasked head in this suit had a unique headpiece which would have been a nice inclusion.
Looks like it got pulled right off the cover of civil war
Great review Bro… on the video the head looks a bit to small for the body.. how does that look in person? I’m thinking just looks like that on my phone screen.
It’s not too bad, it’s more the shape of the helmet that makes it look small
@@MCUcollector24 I got ya .. thanks bro .. I figured it’s just the way it looks on camera or on my phone 🤙🏻
The colors on this look like it could almost fit as an MCU figure with a head swap.
This figure isn’t much better than the Extremis that came out 10 years ago..
Looks like Hasbro intentionally matched the color on this one to match the desaturated colors of the Extremis comics.
Looks like he is wearing a corset rather than armor like Mark 70. But it’s a taller figure so yay.
Hasbro! Why are they starting to take out waist swivel these days? 😡
Less effort means max profit 👍

This figure has really weird proportions. The shoulders are puny and the lower legs are freakishly long.

i dunow.. the head and face looks kinda..
It's the closest ' ground pound ' that hascrap has put together for anything.
i don’t like the helmet, it doesn’t have that sharp cheekbone shape sculpted into it
Get ready for an Anthony’s Customs review where he fumbles around with the figure like he’s on an infomercial desperately trying to prove his point.
Torso articulation is extremely disappointing.
Another common fumbled by Hasbro. 10 years waited for a renew.

The red needs to be painted - still too plastic looking.
Damn this is a disappointment
