As a turkish person I can say this pilav (that's how we write in turkish) is 10/10 perfect you did it with no extra ingredient and not less ingredient even the bulgur you used is perfect!!
I searched for a recipe as I bought Burgul and didn't know how to cook it 😊. As we have great Turkish friends I gave this a try and it came out beautiful!! Yesterday we had guests and my second try at your recipe came out just great and was loved by everyone. Instead of Chili's (not our favorites) I used yellow and red capsicum and green peas for the added colour. The rest as is and I sure will make this now on quite a regular schedule. THANKS a lot!!!
Instead of peas, I prefer chickpeas. Mom prefers lentils. Dad prefers beans. Brother likes plain. Every dinner is all ohh! And ah! S...😅 But all is well. Aunt prefers chicken if possible, if not, she prefers diced carrots, as her grandkids likes the color.
Quest estate a Istambul mia sorella mi ha preparato questa ricetta. Mi e piaciuta molto. Ha fatto i stessi passaggi della preparazione. Mi sono iscritta nel suo canale. Grazie.
Wow! This Bulgur Pilaf looks beautiful! The color is amazing! I've never tried cooking Bulgur Pilaf before. The flavors are just so good with all the seasonings. This is perfect! Big like!🌸🤗
I made this recipe, it was great thank you so much! I'm fortunate to live near a lot of Turkish restaurants (North London) and this is such a good dish. I'm trying to make a bunch of it to have for lunches throughout the week. Any suggestions for things to add to, or have it with to make lunch more filling?
Another recipe saved! I have not made pilaf in over 15 years! Used to make it a lot with the other wife 😶 And this makes me want to start having it again! I will be making this soon! Thanks for the recipe and the reminder! 👍😀
It's mild chilies and the chili paste is Turkish style chili paste, you can find it in Middle Eastern or Turkish groceries, it's called "biber salcasi". If you cannot find it, you can use tomato paste.
That seems to be a staple in your videos, chef. Turkish food with 3 green chiles. 😋😋 Haha. I feel like I see that alot in the recipes. And for good reason! Delicious!
my bulgar always turns out soggy. Do you have any tips? I have always used the same recipe and never managed to get it right so I am going to try your recipe next time. The paper towel technique looks like a good way to draw out excess moisture.
Try reducing the water and the paper towel definitely works. Also make sure the pilaf is rested (steamed) at least 15 - 20 mins covered with the towel.
I made this recipe so many times!! But this time I wanted to stop by and say Thank you!!!! It is cooking right now and cant wait. Extra coarse einkorn bulgur this time ❤️❤️
Not insulting your technique but what do the paper towels under the lid do that the lid alone couldn't do? Does it hold the steam in better or something
It absorbs the excess moisture and to avoid dripping back into the pilaf. It is a widely used method when making pilaf in Turkey and many other neighbor countries.
tried it, my peppers were HOT AS HELL, so i didn't add any other hot spices, but it's fucking delicious, thank you so much, this is actually an amazing recipe! PS: pls taste the recipe as it develops, not all people can tolerate this amount of heat, I can, but still went for a softer version, keep this in mind!
Just a question , I love to eat chicken , expecially cooked and fried chicken . What of if I put every ingredients but pour in the hot water of my cooked chicken into the sauce instead of hot water , Will the test still be the same or will it still be bulgar pilaf
Made this today good recepie, but i used 3 and a bit cups of water instead of 4 cups because of the amount of liquid inside the tomatoes. And I used chicken stock.

We usually eat it with meat and also add braised cubed meat to this pilaf.
Thumbs up before even watching the video because it looks so tasty!! 😁
I Like the bulgur pilaf with the mint and the chili and tomato paste- super easy to do- and very elegant.
Exactly, easy to make and super satisfying :)

Gerçekten de sebzeli bulgur pilavı güzel oluyor
When you say cup or cups of bulgur, how much in grams or millilitres is that
Approx 225 g per cup for bulgur.
I was looking for this since eating at my Turkish restaurant!!! Thank you 💙🖖😊
Glad you found this video :) Let me know if you want to see any other Turkish recipe!

Dankjewel, blij dat je het lekker vond 🙏
I just made this for dinner, and it's delicious! My wife couldn't stop eating it.
This looks amazing! What kind of chillies did you use and also what type of chilli paste?
It's mild chilies and the chili paste is Turkish style chili paste, you can find it in Middle Eastern or Turkish groceries, it's called "biber salcasi". If you cannot find it, you can use tomato paste.
Congrats on an amazing recipe. I wanted to ask you if chili peppers are hot?
So delish love it 😋👍
Bulgur is my favourite 😊

You are right, we use green chilies and onions almost in every dish :)
@@HungryManKitchen
🔥🔥🌶👈 should be green, though. Lol
Can you do a video on Turkish tratziki or let us know what the difference is. 😊.
Yes, that's on my to do list, most possibly a comparison of Turkish Cacik and Greek Tzatziki.
Keep setting that standard even higher. Thanks.
How can we make chilli paste at home please share a recipe....thank you
It's on my list together with tomato paste. Thank you for the feedback!
When do you add the red sweet pepper ?
Healthy Recipe...
Could I transfer the ingredients to a rice cooker when adding the bulgar?
Is this classed as a full meal? Or part of a meal?
Usually a side for meat, but I eat it with yogurt sometimes for a full meal.
“Make that all the time thanks to you.”“I just ate that just today & run out of ingredients my mom has to buy groceries 2morro.”😆😆
Excellent 👍
excellent keep it going
Hi, cannot wait to try this recipe, but 3 chili peppers is way too hot for me... question: no need to wash the bulgur?
The chillies are mild or slightly hot. No washing the bulgur👍
Chillie past spicy / non spicy?
Mildly spicy.

What can be replaced for bulgur
Rice, couscous

Any reason u didn't wash the bulgur?
If it is washed, its taste decreases.
Just a question , I love to eat chicken , expecially cooked and fried chicken .
What of if I put every ingredients but pour in the hot water of my cooked chicken into the sauce instead of hot water ,
Will the test still be the same or will it still be bulgar pilaf
You an also add cooked and shredded chicken into the pan together with the bulgur, then it will become bulgur pilaf with chicken.
Looks better than my grandma's bulgur :)
No way :)
WOW!
yummy
Thank you for the reciepe but I can't manage too much pepper so left out the chillies
Sure, adjust to your taste :)
Yummy 😋
Sometimes I add cumin. Love your channel!)
I will also try cumin next time, nice idea 👍
Looks delucious. But please, how much is "1 cup" in mililitres ?
220 ml
Thank you :)

You dont wash Bulgur??
This is a pretty common household recipe. Anam babam usulü.
İç Anadolu bölgesinde bulgur aşı derler. Biz küçükken yokluk vardı fakirlik vardı az yemedik
What do you like to serve with this dish?
Usually with lamb, beef main dishes and goes well with yogurt or cacik as a side.
why so much chili? that will be so hot! I will make it without chili but with the sweet one.
Bulgur pilavında biz acı biber kullanmayız
