Frontwoman Brittney Slayes says about "Soulbound" and the music video concept:
"This song is what we call a 'quick-banger' in the UTA camp. It's short, fast, catchy, and never lets up. We always have one of these on every record; the kind of song that makes you want to turn the dial up to 11, maybe drive a little faster, perhaps even stand up and headbang by yourself in the middle of the room. This track re-introduces the four sons of The Matriarch as enslaved, unstoppable, half-dead beings that won't give up until The Immortal is destroyed, and we feel like it can stand on its own while not giving too many of the album's secrets away... Get out your air-guitars 'cause this one is blistering!"
The video was shot by Runegate Studios in Victoria BC, Canada and uses two very different environments to differentiate between the world of the living, and the world of the 'Soulbound'. The bright, white, indoor scenes portray a reality much like our own, while the dark, rain-soaked, outdoor scenes take the viewer to a visually stunning reality that will give you goosebumps and make your skin crawl! In this dismal place, The Matriarch has complete control over the Soulbound, and she can compel them there whenever she desires, no matter how hard they may resist."

Hey Hunterz.
Just saying that once I started learning the lyrics in the whole Abyss album, I realized something: Brittney always finds ways of keeping people in the fight. To keep them from giving up.
Which is why I love this song -- because of these lyrics:
Soulbound, endlessly forever
Locked between the darkness and the light
Dont drown, in the swarming, blackened rising
Hold on to humanity and fight
For me, this is the reason I listen to Soulbound -- because it keeps the darkness from engulfing me, and keeps me fighting. Keeps me flying. Keeps me living.
And I cannot thank them enough for it.
Do the entire Abyss album, it is breathtaking.
Wind That Shapes the Land and Afterlife have no video's but are likely the album's best tracks.

Slaying those vocals from the start! Three octave leaps!?... Cinematography and the "corpse" make-up! I loved doing cas-sim (casualty simulation) to train paramedics... and to freak out High School music and drama teachers! LOL!

I believe (Unreal) was the word you were looking for
From a guy that the last years is DISAPPOINTED from the metal scene in general (the reunions of old classic bands are pathetic and make me feel OLD), this band here is propably the only one that gives "that feeling" in the heart of a man that grew up with and learned about metal in the late 80s (heavy, glam, thrash, prog metal etc). I'm not their biggest fan, I like few songs of them, BUT THAT VOICE of Brittney and the top shelf quality and ability of their technique in the guittars and drums is beyond far away above from every HYPE SHIT that mass media serve us nowdays as "the big thing" (babymetal for example is just an abortion for eyes, ears and an average metal heart). Its a band of 00s that "speaks" to the metal heart of 40-50 year old metalheads. That simple. BUT their management must suck big time cause they deserve to fill big arenas AND NOT ONLY CLUBS. Also their band name is way too long for a succesfull trademark.
Love them.
