Okay so I just unlocked my Xfinity mobile galaxy note 8 when I switched over to Q-Link wireless. The unlock code Comcast gave me did not work. But the unfreeze code they provided (said to use it if prompted) turned out to be the actual unlock code! I tried it for the hell of it and I was so relieved to have it work. Others may want to take note. They may have a bug that swaps the numbers around.
@@MNMobileGuy No. Nothing like that. Comcast just mixed up the codes. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason for many of the failed codes. I just tried it since it was the only other code I was given. And it unlocked it, using it as the UNLOCK CODE and not an unfreeze code.

@@davidyang2324 Yes you cannot owe anything on the finance balance. I did however still owe Xfinity money for my post-paid service, but they still gave me the code. I never did pay it yet lol. I owe them like $73. It's kind of funny reading their emails saying they were going to cut my service in five days unless I paid promptly, yet my account was already deactivated since I had ported my number over to Q-Link. One hand not knowing what the other is doing it seems.
Question for you. I am thinking of buying a used/refurbished Samsung Z fold 4 from Ebay and it is locked to Xfinity. If I buy the phone will you be able to unlock it? I am asking this because I am not Xfinity customer and I don't meet any of their requirements for unlocking. I will not have an unlock code.
As of the date of this comment, unfortunately Apple doesn't allow 3rd party businesses like ours to place unlock requests for iPhones from that carrier. So the carrier is the only one who can do it

If there was no response, it's because you were messaging outside of our business hours, in which case WhatsApp sends an automated reply saying that we're closed
I'm going to guess that Odin, frija, or SamFirm (frija replacement) Or NV w/r.... or many of the other publicly available programs that effectively use ADB/fastboot one way or another... The phone is rebooting its in or coming out of fastboot / fastbootd. Unless you are working at Xfinity or samsung, you everybody has access to the same data and software... Odin is prioritary Samsung software but it got leaked eons ago and they don't really seem to care too much.... Samsung doesn't care what network you use and for the rest of the world outside of the United States they don't care if you unlock your bootload either but United States that big carrier is it make it so you can't do things to your phone that they don't want you to.. it's kind of like buying a car and then the dealership saying you can't open the hood though... Not officially anyways

At this time, we don't have a method to do it using our computer programs and tools. So we would obtain the code itself directly from Samsung, via the developer account that we have with them. (And if Xfinity gave you an incorrect code, we'd have to hope that the code from Samsung is a different one)

@@MNMobileGuy Ok, will check in with you tomorrow afternoon if Xfinity hasn't resolved my lock out by then. Been waiting for "24 hours" every time I have called since Friday. Two codes sent haven't worked. Now, escalated support tells me they are manually unlocking the phone which will take 24 hours - of course. If your service for unlocking a Motorola is $50+, it would make sense for me to wait. The phone works as intended when on my home network. I've got Google Voice set up so I've got text and voice. But away from home? SOL.
@@WarrenBarnes60 there's no "manual unlock" that they can do, that we're aware of. As far as we know, all they can do is provide the unlock code - if your phone does indeed ask for one, when a non Xfinity SIM is inserted
I was asking if you use samkey program to unlock it, down in mex we have access to many programs, but i learned this one must buy the code, sorry, i think you know what samkey is.

Oh, weird! It was just asking for the regular unlock code, right? It wasn't saying "too many incorrect attempts" or anything like that?

Whether a factory reset is required in order to do the SIM unlock depends on which model it is, and which software version it has installed

It depends on which model it is, but for the most part, the device has to be at least 5 years old, in order for us to do it

@corey Babcock you can try any code that you want - no code will ever successfully unlock it, if it doesn't ask for a code on its own.
