Hi Victor! On a cross country flight like this one, I like to switch to the aux tanks as soon as I can (typically 45 min into the flight) and run them empty. Why? 1) I need to wait 45 min so there is fuel emptied from the main tanks as the excess fuel from the aux tanks is fed back into the main tanks. 2) In the event of an engine failure and the need to cross feed to maintain general weight balance, you cannot cross feed from the aux tanks - only the main tanks. Thus, the fuel in the aux tank on the side of the failed engine is no good to me (about 45 min worth for 20 gal at cruise). Hope this answers your question.

Thx for the compliment! Gives me good energy to make more videos. Regarding the fuel consumption, it depends on a number of factors (e.g. leaning rich or lean of peak, power setting, altitude, etc.). With stock engines, the C310Q manual notes a combined 26.5 GPH burn @ 71% power when flying at 7,500 ft based on standard conditions (32 degrees F, no win). Note - Manifold is at 22", RPM is at 2,450 and TAS 214 mph, gross weight of 5,300 lbs. This plane has an engine upgrade to the Continental IO-550E which increases typical fuel burn to about 32 GPH when leaned 50 degrees rich of peak.
