- Magazine articles often publish unrealistically light empty weights for aircraft. In this video I show real world Cessna 310Q weight and balance examples highlighting what is possible using actual empty weights from the fleet. Wondering if you can get your family and stuff in a 310? Watch this video and find out!
The wing lockers are amazing. you can fit so much stuff in there. Small duffel bags are the key though. Forget about standard suitcases!
You illustrate the effectiveness of a nose baggage compartment...solved in the “R” model.
Very interesting👏🏼👏🏼🤔
Great information on weight and balance for the 310Q.
Do these numbers apply to the 310R with the nose luggage compartment?
I’m assuming it would be different but I wanted to clarify that. Thanks!
No the R model will have slightly different numbers. R has more HP but is also heavier.
Hello, thanks for sharing !!! Do you do the spreadsheet by yourself?
Yes I did make that spreadsheet. However I now us Foreflight for my W&B.
Great video. In the last slide, pilot + 5 pax, 3.5+1 fuel, wl bags - how much runway do you need to take off and land at sea level on a std day ?
Thanks for the question. Around ~2,300 feet.
What are the blue pipes in the engine locker for?
Lol😂 That’s the tow bar Andrew. When are you going to come visit!?
So as long as you don’t overload the airplane you can just toss bags onto the inboard baggage area?
As long as you don't exceed the weight limit for each individual baggage area, AND the overall weight and balance envelope,...the YES.
@@flyboy98 okay thank you
How much do those third row seats weigh for those of us who would want to fly without them installed?
Honestly I’m not completely sure but I guess they are 25 lbs each.
Loved the jackass pic. Lol. Nice video.
R model is so much easier to balance
I used to haul cheques in a P and Q. Was always a challenge. R model nose baggage is the ace in the hole.
Agree! You can see from my video the nose baggage compartment does wonders for CG. I can see why Cessna added it now.
