Good video, I think Guitar reviewers should extend way more about describing the neck, how it feels, how thick and wide it is, how it feels the back of the neck, frets, etc etc, because the neck is the most important aspect of the Guitar, the sound clips are just relative, you can always get the same pickups, and the sound can be so manipulated with amps or gear we do not have.... but the neck is everything and I think more info the better, also compare it to other necks etc, so we can relate more... thanks.
Hey Max! I've played the 7 string version of this beautiful guitar. After playing the Sun Valley Super Shredder for almost an hour or so, I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money at that time. But that Schecter felt amazing!!!!
I just upgraded my Jackson Soloist that has a Floyd Rose Special. I put in Graph Tech saddles, titanium string lock bolts, titanium isolation bolts, titanium inserts, brass fine tuner screws. a big brass sustain block, heavy duty noiseless springs, titanium spring claw an brass claw screws. Once I composed myself after the heartbreaking chocolate-peanut butter pie story, I realized that the Shredder 3 is a much better deal than the HM re-issue. That one has a the same HSS configuration and a Special on it. The Shredder 3 is $400 cheaper. I'm not a fan of active's but I'd get the Shredder 3 before the new HM. Great playing as always. Thanks for the demo. MK
As much as I was excited when the HR was announced, I agree. Better floyd, better pickups, substantially cheaper (although being made in Japan inflated the cost of the HM).

I just realized this man's guitar playing really is a cross between Phil Collin (Def Leppard), Paul Gilbert, Ross the Boss (Manowar first 6 albums) John Sykes and John Christ of the first 4 Danzig records. As an 80s Rock and Heavy Metal fanatic no wonder I enjoy this channel. Needless to say some EVH and Randy Rhoades in there as well.

I have the 7 string version . I have had for about a year and it's a great guitar . One of my favorites . The pickups , even though being active , witch I'm not a fan of active pickups , but , they sound and respond more like a hot passive pickup . That I'm good with. Not only that , but , the single coils are actually useable in a high gain setting as well . I play on a mesa dual rec , so , normally a single coil would not be an option . These emg retro active singles have given me a new tone on high gain that I can use without a massive amount of noise . I consider that a win in my book and this guitar is one of my go to guitars for almost anything . Great review Max , you will love this guitar the more you play it . R.I.P. to the peanut butter chocolate pie as well . It will be missed , but forever in our hearts . You should really seek some counseling to deal with your loss as I have .

Wondering if it plays as well and if the pickups sound as good in person.
Just ordered the same one, but in blue skyburst. I have another Schecter with Sustainiac, but a floating (headache) bridge. You play very well and we need to have a guitar bättle, but when you play I most likely will drown you out with power chords(lol)Anyway Great Video and Thank You :-)
My problem with most sub - $800 guitars is the hardware, so props to Schecter. I was baffled when Fender went with cheaper Floyd’s on those $1200 reissue Shred Strats
I have the 7 string version of this guitar and i love it! Great guitar but my biggest complaint is the emg retro active neck pickup. It is soooo under powered. I know it's more of a vintage sounding pickup but man a little bit more output would of been nice hahaha.
Love your cat. How do you keep it from shredding, i.e. clawing up, your equipment, especially your cabinets? Or does that count as relicing, relicking, reliquing, or whatever the infinitive form of relic is?
How is the volume change going from single coils to humbucker? On a typical strat it's usually a big change but was wondering if the emg actives had any preamp compensation?

I really love the Charvel because of the rolled fingerboard edges and the craftsmanship that comes out of the Mexico Fender plant, but this looks like a very similar guitar.
I'm hoping they upgrade the SVSS to roasted maple for 2021, but this is a guitar that you can take off the rack and go on tour as is. Amazing value.
I have the 7 string version of this guitar and i love it! Great guitar but my biggest complaint is the emg retro active neck pickup. It is soooo under powered. I know it's more of a vintage sounding pickup but man a little bit more output would of been nice hahaha.
Ah jeez! That pie story broke my heart. Few things bother me more than a middle pickup, though.
I'm with you on not digging the middle pickups. Fortunately this one can be adjusted down, to keep it out of the way.
Awesometastic ..
How come you still ain't selling CD/VINYL Albums on Bandcamp
Love your cat. How do you keep it from shredding, i.e. clawing up, your equipment, especially your cabinets? Or does that count as relicing, relicking, reliquing, or whatever the infinitive form of relic is?
How is the volume change going from single coils to humbucker? On a typical strat it's usually a big change but was wondering if the emg actives had any preamp compensation?
We love for you to review that ESP LTD Mirage Deluxe '87. I wonder how it would compare to the Schecter SVSS. Price is around $999.
