Agreed! I've notice TH-cam doesn't do the bright guitar colors justice. They look way better in real life. Jackson's Slime Green and the Baretta Special purple are also good examples.
I got this exact guitar in lefty and have reviewed it on my channel. It is sooooo fast. That neck is thin but a little narrow compared to an Ibanez wizard. It is my third most expensive guitar but I play it more than any other.
I have this same model arriving next Thursday. Can't wait. Awesome review, I'm sure I'll love this thing just as much. I was a St style player my whole life, sold my gear, bought a Tele style and a Gibby style and they just don't feel the same. I wanted another Strat style and came across these and reviews are off the charts.
My schecter I have came free floating tremolo bridge and who set it up did it right when I bought it at guitar center didn't have to adjust anything on the axe
Hard to go wrong with Schecter. Incidentally folks, these are made in the same Asian factories as ESP/Ltd, a division of World Music, Inc., so you'll see some design features that are familiar and similar or identical. Maybe a bit pricy compared to usual fare for this channel but great quality for the money and super well-built and finished. I own a nice Schecter with Floyd that I've been happy with for decades but now in my fixed-low-income retirement years I would opt for the Leo Jaymz in a new one. They're probably made in the same factories. Thanks, Mike!
@@FultonStreetBeats Right on man. As usual, I appreciate the quick personal reply. Btw I'm waiting at home today for a 'new' used amp (LIne 6 Spider III 120W w 2x10 Celestions) to be delivered and it's on the way right now. My second L6. Haters, say what you want! I have other amps but these old Line 6 amps work for me with everything I want right inside including effects and even a not-bad onboard noise gate and very good tuner. And they're loud as f**k if you need/want that. My next-door neighbor will probably be hearing it tonight. Ha! Have a wonderful day.
Beautiful axe brotha. Schecter is one of the most underrated companies out there. No one does a strat better...hell schecter used to build fenders custom shop guitars before going in business for itself. Keep up the awesome videos
The Guitar is AWESOME Killer Color... The Schecter is awesome but so is LEO JAMZ - Tempest... I personally Like the Locking Systems Rs or WK both work well.. Cheers 🍻🥃🥃 🎸🎸🎼🎵🎶🎹🎶🎵🎻🎶🎶🎵
I like a floating bridge I set my bridge to be clear of any tension except the perfect level tension of the tremolo I make sure it is rock solid straight and free floating this was done on my rg Ibanez 80s axe
Can't go wrong with Schecter, at least in my experience. I own an Omen extreme 6 FR, and have played multiple different models in stores and they're all fantastic quality. Great vid! 🤘🤘
I have a Super Shredder Schecter in surf green with dual EMG Hot 70s. The Floyd Special on mine is the best Floyd i have and I have a couple high end Floyd equipped guitars. Best playing and sounding guitar I own. I also have a 7 string hard tail Schecter that looks like a strat shape Les Paul. Its a monster. Schecter is quality
That is a killer looking Schecter and I love the light green/yellow color with the black hardware! I gotta say that Leo Jaymz Tempest looks great next to the more expensive Schecter.
I almost got the lambo orange version of this but without the sustainiac. Crazy low price on those things if you buy em used. I ended up grabbing a used Exotic Ziricote version of the SVSS and it's outstanding. I hate floating tremolos so I've blocked it to dive only like the rest of my trems and put the Tone Vice detuner on there and it's great. Only real gripe is that the neck pickup is a bit too soft for my liking and I personally prefer a 3 way switch like on these compared to the 5 way switch on mine. I don't need or want all the split coil sounds the 5 way switch does so I'm going to put a 3 way switch in place of the tone knob.
If there are tuning issues I think it's more likely the technique for how it's being tuned. The nut can play a role in binding the string but it's often overstated how important that is, and if the pegs are locking or not doesn't make any difference. You gotta dive with the bar before you check to see if each string is in tune. Diving with it will raise the pitch when it returns to balance because it gets caught in the nut so if you tune without doing that using the bar will make the strings go sharp. If you tune to how the strings sit after a dive bomb you can dive as much as you want and it'll always return to how you tuned it.
Actually this is false. Winds play a crucial role with tuning on a guitar. The more winds the less stable the tuning. This in fact is the exact reason that locking tuners hold tune better. No windings.
@@FultonStreetBeats yeah, been gigging my Alvarez scoop with Floyd. Need one set up in drop d for or 1/2 step down for some stuff. Saving my Pennies lol How does it stay in tune?
I've been having my new Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder PT FR-S (Tele style) for a few weeks now. I love it !!! I had the Epiphone Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul on backorder, but canceled it to get this guitar. I figured that I already have 4 Gibson guitars now and I wanted to try something different and I'm thrilled that I did. I found out later that the FR trem is Korean made and not the better quality German made trem. But it works fine and if I have any problems with it, I can always upgrade to German made FR trem later. I'm not crazy about the seafoam blue color, I would have much preferred the white model with the pearloid pickguard, but it didn't have the Sustainiac. I would have probably chosen the Ryobi green and black over the seafoam blue as well. The PT FR-S is a little lighter at 7 lbs. 14 oz. I paid $949 for it and the Schecter case was $199. It is worth every penny for what you get with this guitar.
That's my plan too. So far it works fine. Also, it's my first guitar with a floating FR trem. The only other guitar I have with a FR is an EVH Wolfgang Special, which is dive bomb only.@@Riverking1
@@jameslanclos568 I have read the Gotoh 1996T is a better alternative to the lower cost FRs. It may or may not take some drilling of the body if the current FR posts can't be used. I wouldn't drill into my body and risk breaking out wood, it's thin in that area already. If existing posts couldn't be used I'd just return it and replace parts on the FR Hot Rod.
Shame about the Floyd Rose Special bridge, I don't know how much the stainless steel "hot rod" thing helps the fact that the rest of them is made out of cheaper metal. At least the good thing is that it should be a fairly easy replacement with an OFR?
Nothing wrong with the floyd special as seen here. The weak points are the screw in tremolo arm, thin block and cheap metal locking screws. Schecter upgraded all of that. I have the Floyd 1500 on my Schecter Exotic SVSS and feels every bit as good as the Gotoh 1996 Floyd on my Charvel. The actual base plate of the floyd special/1500 are perfectly fine.
The base plate is steel just like a OFR. The upgraded parts makes it just as good as any other FR. The name on the plate means nothing for playability.
@@FultonStreetBeats Yeah but you haven't owned the guitar for 20 years to be able to say if it will last. Somehow, I just doubt it would last as long as my 1000 series, but who knows, maybe the upgrade is that good. It's good to hear it doesn't have immediate issues at least. Personally, any Special I've used before either didn't last longer than a few months and started having tuning stability issues, or even had stability issues out of the box.
I was just looking at a brand new B-stock LTD M-1000 for the same price I'd take over this. Set-thru neck, Pegasus/Sentient, stainless frets, original Floyd. And it's not neon. You're pimping a costly guitar when you look at other things you can get for the money.
I would still take this. But to each their own. It's what fits you. Personally, this pickup set up suits me the best over Fishman. And so does the neon. This is a guitar that may not appeal to all. But it also does too many. Plus Schecter has some of the best QC in the business. We all have to Rock what we like. This was a personal purchase and not sponsored. So I bought exactly what I wanted. LTD makes fantastic guitars for sure. But the M-1000 is not my flavor.
@maidenthe80sla i was surprised when i got mine also. But thankfully, it's just the baseplate. Everything else is the tremolo is top notch. It feels great, and holds tuning very well.
