That's funnny cause I'm running a SB165B as well, and as I watched your video about sizing, I was thinking to take an S size as next bike. Seeing that you run the SB165 as S, prove me, that it might be a better size, at least for this type of trails. Thanks to make me dream and prove that I'm the problem, and not the bike lol Love your content
I appreciate your willingness to experiment with bike sizes and geometry. I am the same size 5-11 (180lbs) and come from BMX. I am always gravitating toward the smaller size frames, regardless of category. Since about 2013 (when Mondraker came out with its longer forward center geometry) until around 2018 the progression in this area was reasonable but since then it has gotten out of hand in my opinion. Bikes are bikes, they are light and they dance around so you need skills/technique to make them work. Thats the reality. To me since 2018 the bikes have gotten so big as to attempt to somehow get the bike to do the work for the rider. It’s just doesn’t work like that. An oversized bike takes a lot more physical effort to ride aggressively, too much so. Which in turn actually slows the progression of a new rider to gain skills. I guess the bike industry was trying to gain more customers by attracting them to bikes that can get them into terrain they would otherwise not be ready for. In hindsight we can all see now that that wasn’t a good game plan. I hope sizing and geo return to normal again; for all stakeholders.
From the new bikes I’ve seen 433 chainstays are pretty standard now. Just bought a new freeride bike with 424 chainstays (435 reach). Manuals and 360 are feeling super good so far.
That terrain is amazing. Any recommendations on spots to hit out in that area? I would love to make it out there and ride some ridges, but I wouldn't know where to start
So I'm looking at getting a mullet bike for my next bike and curious on how you compare the SB165 and Ibis HD6. Understanding that this Slopeduro setup is a different setup than the HD6 you setup.
To be honest given how different I have the two builds, I don’t really have a good sense of how one rides compared to the other. That said, they are both great bikes and ride well. Overall though, the biggest standout feature of them is their exceptional build quality and attention to detail 🤘🏼
Silly question, but being 5’11, why would a small be your size of choice, especially if the short wheelbase is a con. Just curious as I’ve been looking at wheelbases on different bikes. Super rad riding , thank you!
I use the GoPro Hero 12 with Max Lens Mod 2.0. For more information on my setup I would recommend watching this video: th-cam.com/video/EDGqrEjWiTo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for tuning in to this week’s video! If you have any questions about the SB165, feel free to drop them below 👇🏼 👊🏼
I like how you say your riding solo so you'll take it easy, then sends it!
😂 Guess it is all relative!

Totally agree that a bigger bike can get riders into terrain that they not ready for, thanks for watching the video 👊🏼
Definitely all comes down to personal preference ✌🏼
WILD!!!!
🤘🏼
When i think of 'trail bikes,' I imagine something closer to 130/140 travel rather than enduro measurements.
I tend use the term ‘trail bike’ loosely, but I would say that’s fair 🤙🏻
great looking bike
Thank you!

What bike did you pick up?
Canyon torque 27.5 in size S. Unfortunately, because everyone is buying 29ers they only have one configuration, but it fit my low budget perfectly.
The color is kinda weird too but the geo is perfect.
Nice, glad you’ve found a bike that works well for you 🤘🏼👊🏼
5 11 size S wow :D my stolen 2017 Turbo Levo had a reach of 434, im 6 1 and loved it haha. Had to put saddle as far back as possible though
Dang, sorry your bike got stolen!
That pov looks so good, are you going to get the GoPro 13 for future videos ?
Glad you like the way it looks! Maybe in the future I will get the 13, but for now I’m happy with the 12 🤘🏼

Everything I rode in this video is super easy to find right off the road, and there is tons more. Definitely where I would recommend starting 🤘🏼

Yo, thanks for watching! The frame sizing is discussed at length in this video: th-cam.com/video/9IKUFItahMY/w-d-xo.html
Hope you enjoy!
Why don’t you go to rampage you rip I’m 62 years old and I watch you just to get inspiration you could win son
Love to hear that 🤘🏼 Maybe I’ll try to do rampage one day in the future 🤙🏻
seeing lots of canyons in the backgrounds of these videos, any info on whats going on there?
Just my roommates bikes! Good eye though!
what helmet are you using?
I use the Fox Rampage Pro Carbon 🤘🏼
What go pro settings do you use?
I use the GoPro Hero 12 with Max Lens Mod 2.0. For more information on my setup I would recommend watching this video: th-cam.com/video/EDGqrEjWiTo/w-d-xo.html
@@PeterJamisonok thanks
🤟🏼
That's a trail bike?
Trail bike, enduro bike, what would you call it?
@PeterJamison at 165 mm I thought enduro . My trail bike is 138mm.
That’s a fair opinion, I tend use ‘trail bike’ pretty loosely 🤙🏻
Comment for algo
What a homie!
