I’ve been following you since I was a fresh meat in Nursing school. Now, here I am getting ready to start NP school NEXT WEEK!😬😬😬 I am grateful for your amazing videos!
OMG, this video literally is SAVING ME. So accurate to my Nursing School! Thank you Liz! I just started my Pathophysiology class! Hearing your words of encouragement literally is what I needed today. Thank you!
I can't speak for every Patho book but many of them (including the one that Liz showed) have a study guide you can buy for like $35- $40 dollar that you can use to quiz yourself to make sure you are ready for your exam, that's what I did. It made me feel a little more confident that I would be ready for the exam and of course, if I did badly on the study guide I knew I needed to study more.
Thanks for mentioning that!! This is what I mean about study methods being different! I had that study guide and didn’t like it because I felt it was too broad and overwhelmed me. But I love that it worked for you! Thanks for mentioning it so it can help others too!!
I am literally ready to cry bc you have given me hope that I can pass this class!!! I appreciate you sharing and being so positive! Your tips, tricks, and resources are SO helpful. Thank you so very much!
I love that you reference Dr. C. I had the privilege of being in his classes at the College of St. Scholastica, and he was awesome-not at all the guy you might visualize him to be. He was a Harley-riding, three-time Hole-in-One golfer, long-haired, and bearded guy from the '60s. And he was the Smartest professor I ever had. He made learning Patho easy! I'm glad to know he has had such a wide reach. I hope others look him up; they won't regret it.
You're just awesome!!! My God the way you motivate people is amazing. The moment you said "you will survive this b/c all these nurses & NP's survived it" I'm sold!! I WISH YOU'RE MY PROFESSOR!😗😗😗 Thank you for calming my nerves!
Oh my goodness! I can't thank you enough for these tips! I just started patho for NP school and had NO CLUE how to manage the info. Your tips about using the objectives as a way to focus was fantastic. I just took my first test (cells, cancer, cell biology, hematology, fluids and electrolytes, and acid-base) and I got 92%!!!!!!!!!!!! You are awesome!
It may seem a little excessive, but I absolutely recommend studying over the summer before the class if you can. I started studying for my patho course as soon as I got my study guide and textbook in the mail (I have it next semester so I can't speak about how much it helps yet, but I can't imagine it will hurt), and I imagine this will make the class a little less daunting for at least the first week. It'll give you enough time to get your bearings while they go through the material you pre-studied before you get into the meat of the class. :) I started a little document on my laptop with all my prep work and a quizlet with new terms, just so I'm not lost when they use them. I totally recommend this approach!
Yes, it is. I study all of his videos during my A&P course and throughout nursing as a refresher! He is amazing and because I am also a visual learner I also view armando hasudungan videos both combine is A+.
Liz, I just found this video and its 2022! SO RELATABLE! and I really appreciated how you broke everything down to be better prepared for this course! Can I just say how much I love you? I started watching your vids two years ago when I went back to school to pursue my nursing dream. I'm in my 3rd week of nursing school now and to see your smiling, reassuring face makes me feel so much better about my decision.
I've been in my program for one week and I'm totally overwhelmed. Trying to find the podcast with Dr. C and it's been very difficult to retrieve. Thank you for all the helpful tips, though. They really do make a difference!
I feel like I can actually do this after watching you video. I did have a freak out moment when you first started talking about how hard it is, but then you laid it out all in a logical way and I feel like I can do it now! Thanks for this video!

I’m just starting advance pathophysiology for my psych NP program and I so needed this positivity that you’ve provided me. I’ll be checking in for the next 16 weeks for studying tips. Wish me luck.😂😂😂
Thank you so much! I just started patho and my professor just reads PowerPoint slides from the textbook during lecture and I've been feeling lost. your tip about looking at the objectives in the book helped give me a lot of direction about what's important to study 😊
Thank you so... so... so... I’ll say it one more time, SO much. Thank you Liz. I bombed my first test. I was overwhelmed and confused. I ordered my study guide and I am So glad that you reassured me that I was not going to read all the content.
Thank you so much. I opened my patho book today and read the first couple of paragraphs and realized I had no idea wtf was going on and wondered if I had made a huge mistake. Until I watched your video. Thanks again.
You held up that textbook, and I slowly gazed over at the exact same textbook sitting on my desk with hatred in my eyes. We shared a moment, Nurse Liz. We shared a moment.

Liz, your video was a breath of fresh air. I'm sure your patients feel that you're a godsend too! I'm starting an undergraduate level of pathophysiology this January and I can't wait to learn! You are a WEALTH of information and I am so thankful for you! I'm a mama of 2 little ones and have made the decision to go back to school to get my BSN in an accelerated program. I have a bachelor's in business and started my pre-reqs for nursing school 10 years ago, but life happened and I put it all on the backburner. I'm excited to go back, but I'm definitely having mom guilt and am nervous jumping back in as an older student who has been out of the classroom for so long. Your videos have given me hope and encouragement that I CAN do this!
Thank you so much for this video. I’m a mom of 19 month old twins, currently enrolled in college, and taking Patho. I’m so overwhelmed when I got my course schedule. This video will definitely help me!
I see that this video is old but I just had to say thank you for sharing this information and your study tips... Especially your tips on tackling the book. I typically set aside about 6hrs a day for patio and yesterday I spent 6 hrs on 4 pages. And I was so defeated because i just kept thinking there is no way I can read this whole book in the next 10weeks and actually learn the material. i haven't even started the actual program and trying to tackle this class has greatly discouraged me. However, I'm going to try your tips and see how that works for me! Thanks again for being here and your overall energy..its motivated me to get out of the bed and get some studying in.!!

I was taking patho this summer but had to drop because there was just too much going on and I wasn’t giving it my all. I’m taking it in the fall and I am so nervous. Glad I watched this video
Thank you so much for creating this video! I just took my first exam in pathophysiology, and it wasn't good at all. It sounds like you learn a lot like I do, so your recommendations will be perfect for me. I can't download the podcast that you'd recommended for some reason -- I wonder if it has to do with its age. The videos that have been helping me (as of a couple days ago when I discovered them) are by Dr. Greg. My older sister is sending me that book that you'd mentioned. I have never felt so stupid in my life that I do when reading the patho textbook, so I will be changing my study methods for sure. Thanks again!
Patho is definitely a beast. But you can absolutely do it! This was my poorest performing class by far so you are NOT alone. One day at a time, hang in there!

Thank you so much for this video! I started NP school 5 weeks ago and I feel so overwhelmed. Been out of nursing school since 2012 so recharging to focus again is so hard! Thank you for your encouragement. I really needed this!
Hi Liz. I am soooooo anticipating taking advanced patho and pharm. I am completing the bridge program, so I am hoping that it isn't going to be a deal breaker for me. I do think that I can get through it. I love your personality and your channel. Thanks!
I'm starting this class next week and I've watched this video soooo many times. I'm really nervous, but keeping my fingers crossed and will definitely follow your tips. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! You are so awesome! Taking Patho and feeling better after your video! It’s been 20 years since I went to college! Yes, this too shall pass! 🙏🏼❤️✝️💕
Professor Fink videos have been really helpful. Thank you sooo much for adding the videos to your site. I am taking Advanced Patho and it’s been a struggle.
I looove dr. C podcasts! I’ve studied medicine in Russia and been listening these podcast since 2012 I guess if not longer! Now, it’s as comforting as watching “the Office”, lol!
@@luzmarieramirez5369 you can download them all via archives of St. Scolastica university! It is well worth the time! Also, some still work on “podcast app” (it is blue, not original apple podcast app). I believe, “aging” and “embryo” still are available on your normal podcast app on iphone
Thank you so much for this! I just started NP school and this is one of my classes. I have been thinking of leaving the program because Adv Patho is making me feel like maybe this isn’t for me. Now I feel better, thank you 😀😘
THANK YOU FOR THIS. I just started my fall semester and I’m taking patho, foundations of nursing I, and health assessment and I also start clinical and I’m already DYING. This video gave me such peace of mind❣️
I need this. I’m in my first week of advanced patho. These lectures are crazy. I’m also fasting for Ramadan and I can’t focus. I’m grateful for the study guide, but I won’t know until the first exam how true to the study guide it is.
OMG I love this! I seriously wish I knew about you when I took pathology in 2017 😂... this class made me question why I went back to school! Haha 😆 nonetheless I did survive!!! It would have been nice to split it up but taking NP school online was a different animal for me.... I honestly prefer in class/on campus... but online was just a better choice with a family 🤷🏻♀️.
THank you so much for the encouragement!!! I actually had started doing exactly what you said (focusing on the objectives and youtube video lectures). Haven't had my first test yet and Im scared to death but you helped calm me down a bit. Its good knowing Im NOT the only one feeling this way!!!. Ok, back to hitting the books...uggg
Hi! I love your channel. You mentioned Prof. Fink....I’m in LA and I think you’re talking about a gentleman who teaches at a Los Angeles Community College. He’s amazing! I almost took a class with him but it conflicted with my schedule. But he is so respected and sought after here in LA. If we’re talking about the same guy...what a small world! LOL. Cheers!
Thanks for the video !! My pathophysiology instructor is not clear and neither is his power points 😩 however, did buy the patho made easy book. Thank u !!
Though I’ve taken this class 2 years ago you are SPOT on. And to top it off my professor made us present case studies online in front of the entire class. Fuuuun.
Hi Liz. I thank God for you, girl! I love your informative videos and sense of humor! I will be entering nursing school in the Fall of 2021. Liz, thank you so much for alleviating my anxiety over Patho. I dropped this course 2 semesters ago due to the difficult and heavy course load. This is the only course preventing me from moving ahead at the Bachelor's level and it's been stressful to think that I have to prepare to take it again very soon. I too, am a visual learner and do study by speaking aloud in order for me to remember, so thank you for the tip on the Podcast which I have downloaded already and "Picmonic." Thank you.

Oh my! I just started advanced patho this week for my NP program. Yikes! So much information. Thanks for the video. It is helpful.
You can do it! One day at a time with that beast of a class
Thank you ! Did you happen to save the Doc C audios ? They are all gone from the internet and Apple Podcasts 😔
NP student and this is exactly how I studies in undergrad and how I study now. The formula works!
Thank you so much for this video! I started NP school 5 weeks ago and I feel so overwhelmed. Been out of nursing school since 2012 so recharging to focus again is so hard! Thank you for your encouragement. I really needed this!
Hang in there! The beginning is so rough as you re-enter the school mode and find out how the program is going to go.
Hi Liz. I am soooooo anticipating taking advanced patho and pharm. I am completing the bridge program, so I am hoping that it isn't going to be a deal breaker for me. I do think that I can get through it. I love your personality and your channel. Thanks!
I just started my level 2 Patho class today, thank you for making this video!!
Jill H you’ll do great!
Thank-you Liz I am in advanced patho now, this was terrific, thank-you
So glad it was helpful!
Lol “They’re EVIL and assigned it anyways” The most true statement ever said about Patho
I don’t understand their logic lol
I'm starting this class next week and I've watched this video soooo many times. I'm really nervous, but keeping my fingers crossed and will definitely follow your tips. Thanks for sharing!
One day at a time! You got this!
Can i have the link for the podcast please
Thank you, Liz! In the beginning of this class with the first exam next week, so appreciate your advice! ❤️
Hope your semester goes well!
Thank you so much! I was freaking out after my first day of class but this gave me some hope!
Thank you! You are so awesome! Taking Patho and feeling better after your video! It’s been 20 years since I went to college! Yes, this too shall pass! 🙏🏼❤️✝️💕
you got this!!
the fact that I searched this book and ordered it right before watching this video. lol. glad it's going to be useful.
Thank you!!! You are soooo encouraging! I'm in week 2 of this class and this video is everything!
You got this!!!
Professor Fink videos have been really helpful. Thank you sooo much for adding the videos to your site. I am taking Advanced Patho and it’s been a struggle.
You're gonna rock it!
I looove dr. C podcasts! I’ve studied medicine in Russia and been listening these podcast since 2012 I guess if not longer! Now, it’s as comforting as watching “the Office”, lol!
I tried listening but they say they are unavailable... any tips for accessing these?
@@luzmarieramirez5369 you can download them all via archives of St. Scolastica university! It is well worth the time! Also, some still work on “podcast app” (it is blue, not original apple podcast app). I believe, “aging” and “embryo” still are available on your normal podcast app on iphone
@@luzmarieramirez5369 *scholastica, sorry
Im two weeks in and needed this SO much. thank you thank you thank you!
Wow! Thank you for your suggestions. Listening to Dr C now and waiting for my “patho made ridiculously easy” book to arrive. Thank you!!
Isn't he super quirky and adorable? Hope they help!
Oh gosh, thank you.. I needed to hear all of this. Currently taking patho and pharm.
I love this! The objective tip is such a good idea ☺️ just started patho phys and excited to use this method.
Hope your semester goes well!
Thank you so much for this! I just started NP school and this is one of my classes. I have been thinking of leaving the program because Adv Patho is making me feel like maybe this isn’t for me. Now I feel better, thank you 😀😘
you got this! I think the point of advanced patho is to make you want to drop out lol. at least thats how it was for me
How did it go. I applied for NP. 1st class Advance Pathophysiology. Scared
THANK YOU FOR THIS. I just started my fall semester and I’m taking patho, foundations of nursing I, and health assessment and I also start clinical and I’m already DYING. This video gave me such peace of mind❣️
I'm so glad! What a course load! You can do this!! One day at a time :)
Omg thank you so much! I was so overwhelmed by the amount of reading and panicking! I will try these tip. Very helpful
I'm so glad! It is definitely a lot to take in, but you can do it! One day at a time
This helps. Thanks so much. I am just starting with my core MSN classes and keep getting overwhelmed by the enormity of the whole thing.
You can do it! One day at a time!
I'm about just drop my Phato class. I wish I had found your video when I first started the class.
I love your energy. You made me feel so much better 😃
I need this. I’m in my first week of advanced patho. These lectures are crazy. I’m also fasting for Ramadan and I can’t focus. I’m grateful for the study guide, but I won’t know until the first exam how true to the study guide it is.
Oh gosh I can’t even imagine the fasting with trying to tackle patho. Hang in there!!!
Nurse Liz I’m trying. :)
Giiiiirl, I'm loving your uploads lately! haha thank you so much!!!
Thanks for following along!!
OMG thank you thank you 😭 I’m definitely going to try this! I’m only in week 3 and I’m struggling already! I’m going to try these techniques!!
Patho is evil, but I am sending you all the vibes! I hope this helps!!!
Thank you very much for your help. This tips are really going to be helpful for me !. Have a blessed day
so glad it was helpful!
Its almost 1 AM and I'm belly button deep into a patho powerpoint and this made me feel so much better!
Hope you are done with that evil class soon! I'm glad it helped!
You got this!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for your first exam!
LOL. Cheers!
Interesting! I don’t remember where he teaches out of but it likely is the same! That would have been so cool to be in one of his classes!
Thanks for the video !! My pathophysiology instructor is not clear and neither is his power points 😩 however, did buy the patho made easy book. Thank u !!
Ugh that's so frustrating! That book is a lifesaver!
Nurse Liz yes it is 🙌🏾
My school combined patho and pharm so I’m currently taking both in one class and it sucks 😭😭 it’s overwhelming
Oh my gosh that’s evil! You can do it! Just think of what smooth sailing you’ll have when you are done with this beast of a semester 😳
Sounds like my school - Walden
same here, now in part 2...part 1 wasn't too bad...how do you study for advanced diagnostic reasoning?
Omggggggg! I wish you the best!! You can do it!!
Omg how was it? My uni does the same!
Though I’ve taken this class 2 years ago you are SPOT on. And to top it off my professor made us present case studies online in front of the entire class. Fuuuun.
Ohhhh man. That is the worst. So glad its behind you!
Hi Liz. I thank God for you, girl! I love your informative videos and sense of humor! I will be entering nursing school in the Fall of 2021. I've been hearing A LOT of scary things about pathophysiology from other nursing students on Y-Tube, so I appreciate all of the study tips you've shared with us. Thank you so much! You've just got another subscriber! :-)
you got this!!
I too, am a visual learner and do study by speaking aloud in order for me to remember, so thank you for the tip on the Podcast which I have downloaded already and "Picmonic." Thank you.
you got this!! Patho was also such a struggle for me.
Thank you for this!!!!! I needed it!
