I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing the AANP test last month she passed and I failed 😣, I asked her how she did it , just found out she got her help from Mrs Brenda..
I'm taking this course now and I'm not the most hopeful, but your video has given me some much valuable advice and inspiration. Thank you. I hope I make it through.
Thank you so much for this video!! I just finished and passed Pharm. I have felt like a complete failure since the class ended because I feel like I truly don't know enough about medications to be a good nurse. I have honestly been contemplating quitting nursing school. Your video was a complete encouragement to me! Not only did you give me great study tips, but you calmed my fears!! I feel very capable now to take the summer and really get a handle on some specific medications before the next semester starts. I DON"T NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING.....there are plenty of helpful tools for me to utilize when I am actually practicing as an RN!! My mind is so much more at ease after watching your video!! THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much for the picmonic discount link! It really helped me to afford it. I just was so hesitant to spend the money if it wasn't valuable to me. With your link I bought it! I will be starting Pharm in July and this video has helped me feel a lot more positive and prepared. All your videos are so encouraging but still honest. I love and appreciate your candor. You're awesome!
My cousin who is 2 years away from finishing her doctorate (and also doing 4 additional years to become a maxilofacial surgeon) said that you don’t retain/memorize most of the stuff you learn in nursing/med school. We had a funny conversation the other day that I was asking her for studying tips since I start a BSN program in Feb2023. I asked her the same thing you asked that doctor “is it possible to memorize all those meds?” “how in the world am I gonna do that?”. Then I asked her “do you remember all the meds from pharmacology?” She laughed and said “no, I did pharmacology on my first year, am on my 5th now and I only know the meds I use when I practice on patients”. She said that schools prepare you to enter the field but your truly learn everything once you start practicing it in real life. I was super nervous and scared but after talking to her and watching your video I’m more confident and ready for what’s coming :)
About to start my advanced Pharma for DNP. Thanks for sharing your view on this class. I’m a bit nervous since we’ll do phatophys at the same time. I’ll follow your advice, especially on the not waiting til last minute. Loving your current content as well. Go Liz!!! 💕💕💕💕🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Starting pharmacology in three weeks. I have been stressing about it so much. Thank you for sharing this. It made me feel so much better. I always think how am I gonna remember all the drugs!
Thank you so much for this video! Honestly, I really enjoyed A&P lab. I had an awesome professor. Half way through my first semester, I started going to open lab on the weekends to look at the models again. My grades improved so much. I got high 90s on quizzes and lab practicals. My professor let us take pics of the models and videos after we labeled things. It helped a lot when I got home.
Omg, thank you so much for this video!!! I'm currently taking pharmacology and I've been so overwhelmed that I contemplated giving up : ( but after watching your video I feel a little at ease and confident : ) Thanks again!
So taking the advanced pharm class, and it is so much material on each test and it pretty much runs together. I always look at objectives and do practice questions. I love picmonic and quizlet. Im passing but i really want to do better.
Sketchy Pharm is great for medical students and for nursing (as a current nurse). I also liked Memorang (like Quizlet) for nursing pharm because it has a lot of practical things that I feel like is missing in medical school but that I learned in nursing school.
Thank you! I start Advanced Pharmacology on Monday, and trying to not have an anxiety attack lol. Kidding aside, I am nervous but know that if I can get through Advanced Patho- anything is possible!
For anyone wanting to go into healthcare as a nurse/provider I HIGHLY recommend working at a pharmacy to obtain a feel for medicine. It will help SO much with retaining all of the crazy info in pharm and will give you a good idea on if nursing/provider care is for you. I've been a CPhT (certified pharmacy tech) for two years and I feel very comfortable with pharmacy going into nursing school. You'll also be able to obtain much more in-depth knowledge from the RPh (pharmacist) that you wouldn't get as a nurse/provider that's INCREDIBLY important on the following topics (med interactions, effectiveness of meds, swapping meds, dose changes, medication math ect). It will give you a one up. Very happy I started in pharmacy, I have a strong foundation.
Believe me ,what ever you do never give up finally I've become an NP on my 3rd attempt , I can’t believe I almost gave up after not making it for the 2nd time ,fortunately for me I was recommended to a tutor by my friends
Your videos always calm me down when I start getting too overwhelmed by Nursing school and I’m not sure if I can do it anymore.... Thank-you so much for making these videos. I really appreciate them.
i'm so glad they're helpful! Also totally normal to feel overwhelmed. Nursing school is incredibly overwhelming. Doesn't make it any more fun, but know you aren't alone!
Thanks for all the great tips! I start NP pharm on Monday! My fave classes were the anatomy and physiology that I took in high school.... which makes sense considering where I am today!
My psychiatrist has a degrees specializing in psychopharmacology. Does this make her a better doctor and diagnosed? Does this help her medicate patients better? I was just wondering, because that's partly the reason I went for her to begin with.... I loooove your videos! You have a way of making the most boring topic interesting, informative and you are so articulate!! I can see you reaching a BIG audience eventually!!!
If they are a psychiatrist their medical training would include extensive teaching on pharm, but I’m sure a little extra wouldn’t help! Thanks for the kind words! ❤️
I have to have an A if not I can’t pass pharmacology! Wish my school would understand that our human brain cannot! 😭 update: I am in love with you and your personality and whole channel! Thank you so much for this information is highly appreciated! ❤️
Great advice about not needing to know everything in Pharmacology! My favorite class.... (advanced) physical assessment, so far, from nursing and NP school. Starting the appetizer courses today for Fall semester and then the meat and potatoes courses in spring with clinicals. We'll see if my favorite changes. Can't wait to get to those nitty gritty courses though 😉
Thanks for the tips! My favorite class I have ever taken is Global Haiku. It was an add-on because I had to take something in that genre of classes for my BSN. I ended up loving it. I wish I could major in Haiku!
As a brand new nurse fresh out of college, code situations cause me a lot of stress and anxiety. While you are no longer working in an acute care setting/on the floor/bedside nursing a video on how to approach code situations would be great. Any advice or stories you can share would be awesome! Great videos!
And maybe how you would react to codes differently as a practitioner? if you’re trained differently to act during codes in NP school? (Code blue is what I’m referring to!)
For sure! In the mean time this may be helpful! It goes over how to give report in codes/rapid responses. th-cam.com/video/vXXbBfj03FE/w-d-xo.html . Congrats on the new job! My biggest advice for now would be to watch and play "small" roles such as chest compressions or vitals documentation (if your floor needs that). They get you into the flow of things without being a high stress position. You'll get the hang of it! In the beginning they are incredibly overwhelming, but you have a whole team of people who know what to do, so observing and taking it all in is good!
Thank you, Mrs. Liz. I LOVE the suggestions and recommendations of how to survive Advance Pharmacology, which is my BIGGEST FEAR!!! You have provided a way for me to tackle this course without HIGH ANXIETY!! Thank You
Picmonic has a black friday sale right now and you can use the discount code with it. I got a pretty awesome deal, just in time for my pharmacology class :)
LIz, you have the cutest glasses! Any chance you can share where you got it from? I loved the video. I am a grad student for NP program and this info will help a lot come spring. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for the tips Liz!!! So far I’m still finishing up my prenursing classes but I am able to take pharm before even getting into the program today was my first day and it felt overwhelming but after reviewing and like you said taking it day by day! My favorite class so far has been Physiology it was a tough class by I loved how it challenged me to think critically!!! Love your videos !!!!!
I just found you, and you make me feel so much better in my own abilities. I've felt like all of this is so hard to learn, but I've been trying to understand that this isn't meant to be easy. I hope to be a nurse one day!
Hi Liz! I just took my final for Advanced Pharmacology 2 weeks ago and passed the class but feel like I forgot 50% of it already... My class never tested us on dosing (it was integrated into our lectures and exam questions but we were not expected to COME UP with dosing first-hand on exams) and the fact that I’m supposed to be PRESCRIBING this stuff in a year or so terrifies me. Did you feel the same way when you walked out of Advanced Pharm & started working as an NP? Do you have any tips as to how you can feel more competent and confident prescribing? Thank you always

Thanks so much for the helpful video! I saw that you’ve recommended the patho book, Clinical Pathophysiology Made Ridiculously Simple. Do you like the pharm book of that series also?
As far as reading the textbook goes, I know you stressed just mainly going over the objectives but for my patho class, she doesn’t list the objectives, so how would you approach the reading so as I’m not reading over 100 pages? Lol
I registered for Advance Pathophysiology and Pharmacology (yes it’s one class). Do you think it’s possible to work a full time job with overtime, be single mom and still pass this class?
Do you have any help or support? I'm never one today say you can't do anything, but that is ALOT on your plate momma. Then again, its only for a few months.
Thanks Nurse Liz, I a some support, not much. The course is online this Block-semester due to Covid-19. Tomorrow is my first day, I guess I’ll see after tomorrow if it’s doable. It’s block courses so it’s a 7 week class. Thanks for this video it truly helps to put things into perspective! 🤗
I’m actually doing really well. I have an A so far, but I’ve been contributing my entire Sunday’s each weekend to study and complete assignments as Sunday’s are the only days I have available to do anything school related. So it’s been rough and a lot of sacrifice but I’m chucking through it with God’s Grace and lots of prayer!🙏
this class is ridiculous!!! my class is 8 weeks and in the first test we were given ONE WEEK to learn all antibiotics and other things as well 😢 im an excellent student but i cannot with this class. luckily the busiwork is propoing up my grade bc the teacher had to give a ten point boost to the grade bc everyone presumably failed it as i did. I just wonder whats the point?! and i wonder what kind of providers this class is creating….
Amazing video from a fellow health care youtuber!!!🙋♂️ I like how you’re so done to earth - you’ll love my friend Claire Carmichael- she’s a nurse on TH-cam - go check her out love x
Nice video 🥰🥰🥳your video is so cool, honestly AANP is such a difficult test man , really don’t know what to do but I’m never losing hope.
At times it doesn’t matter how hard you study you also need to pray to God for success..
very correct ..
I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing the AANP test last month she passed and I failed 😣, I asked her how she did it , just found out she got her help from Mrs Brenda..
Please does anyone know who this Mrs Brenda is ? I really need to speak with her I’m frustrated..
Thieves now pretend to help you pass and they end up taking your hard earned money, Brenda is a sure help but very difficult to get her info..
It’s 2024 and Liz this video helped so much to ease my anxiety in Pharm this semester.
You have such a refreshing sense of humor and down to earth approach... This is not a common combination!! 🤗🤗👌👌❤❤
You are too kind! ❤️❤️
Totally agree, Iana!
:)
I'm taking this course now and I'm not the most hopeful, but your video has given me some much valuable advice and inspiration. Thank you. I hope I make it through.

It seriously saved my life in pharm!! Fingers crossed for your course!
Hello Madison, I'm thinking to register for 24 month subscription, does it help with patho, pharm, and other classes in FNP program?
professornizami have you ever used it? I would sign up for a semesters time worth to see if it helps you. I found it very helpful.
Madison, did it help you pass? I'll be taking pharm next may!
Soooo glad I found you!!!! Starting my PMHNP program in a couple weeks and I’m freakin out. Needed to hear this . Thank you

I watched this before nursing school and now I am watching it again. Makes SO much sense now that I am in it. Thanks so much for making this video!
Glad it was helpful!
Your videos are simply a reference for each nursing student. Thank you for each advice you provide .
I'm so glad they've been helpful!
Thanks!
Of course! Hope it helps!

Awesome!! I’ve heard a med student recommend sketchy pharm before but I’ve never tried it. Thanks for these tips!
Sketchy is life in med school. I've been preaching about Sketchy with all my fellow FNP coworker friends. :)
Awesome!! I’m sure they appreciate it!
Where do I find the app I tried to search for it on Google play & couldn't find it.

Oh my lord thank you for this video! Just got finished with a pharm exam that didn't go as well as I would of liked, and this has set me at ease.
That first exam is always so rough because you don’t know what they will be like. I hope it gets better for ya! Pharm and I struggled
Believe me ,what ever you do never give up finally I've become an NP on my 3rd attempt , I can’t believe I almost gave up after not making it for the 2nd time ,fortunately for me I was recommended to a tutor by my friends

Hope your semester goes well!
Pharmacology is super
You are very fun and fun. Thank you for your energy and guidance!
You’re an angel thank you, I was nervous starting pharmacology but you helped so much ❤️
Pharmacology was interesting but I don't remember a lot of it. So glad I am not the only one who felt this way. Great tips Liz.
Thanks! And you are so not alone!! 😂
So far in nursing school. I loved my Helth Assessment class. Pharm was stressing me out, but now I feel better.
THANK YOU! I am an NP I totally agree
Yay!
What’s your favorite class you EVER took??
Research and EBP. So interesting!
April Claxton we need people like you in the world!
Medical terminology and any history class I took
Nurse Liz Topics Of Professional Nursing.
Starting nursing school this Fall but my favorite class so far has been Microbiology!
Bless you and your channel. You have helped me so much in my first few weeks on nursing school. Thank you so much
I’m so glad it’s been helpful!
Nurse Liz... You are a lifesaver!!
Glad it was helpful!
you are a godsend thank you so much, just purchased picmonic for 12-48 months x
Hope its as helpful for you as I found it!
Thank you so much for suggesting Picmonic! I have a huge imagination and using it as a story teller to describe these drugs is really helpful.
Giiiirl I just requested this last night too! haha love it! thank you so much!
I know I laughed when I saw that because I knew this was going up!!
Thanks for all the great tips! I start NP pharm on Monday! My fave classes were the anatomy and physiology that I took in high school.... which makes sense considering where I am today!
Definitely makes sense for you now! That’s awesome they had that at your high school! Jealous! You’ll do great in pharm!!
What's is np pharma

Oof that’s rough. Fingers crossed for your semester!!
Your videos seriously help me so much! I’m an aspiring NP. you encouraged me by how much info you have and help out!!
I’m so glad!! Hang in there!
Thank you for this information I wish I listened to you sooner struggling in this Pharmacology class...
Omg I feel the same way about Pharmacology. I thought I was the only one! Absolutely loved this video!!
Angela Lee definitely not the only one!! Thanks!
It’s so much less draining when it’s stuff you actually want to know! Excited for you!
thanks girl 😁
I’m going to try picmonic. Thank you for the discount!
Thanks for the tips! My favorite class I have ever taken is Global Haiku. It was an add-on because I had to take something in that genre of classes for my BSN. I ended up loving it. I wish I could major in Haiku!

If you are an acute care np you would be trained how to run a code. OUTpatient NPs aren’t because you don’t have the equipment to run them in clinics
Thank you, Mrs. Liz. I LOVE the suggestions and recommendations of how to survive Advance Pharmacology, which is my BIGGEST FEAR!!! You have provided a way for me to tackle this course without HIGH ANXIETY!! Thank You
you got this!
This is super helpful as a nursing student. TY! :)
Love this video! I’m taking Advance pharm. for FNP and it’s soooo overwhelming
Definitely so so overwhelming. One day at a time! You got this!
Thank you for doing this video.
One of your best videos!
Thank you!!
Thanks so much for this, it’s help a lot.
Picmonic has a black friday sale right now and you can use the discount code with it. I got a pretty awesome deal, just in time for my pharmacology class :)
thank you for the heads up!! thats such a sweet deal!
Do you have a video on tips on learning drug calculations?
I absolutely LOVE your videos!
Aww thank you!
LIz, you have the cutest glasses! Any chance you can share where you got it from? I loved the video. I am a grad student for NP program and this info will help a lot come spring. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you! They're from warby parker, there should be a link in the video description!
You can do it!! It’ll be over before you know it!
I just found you, and you make me feel so much better in my own abilities. I've felt like all of this is so hard to learn, but I've been trying to understand that this isn't meant to be easy. I hope to be a nurse one day!
aww I'm so glad! You got this!!
Can someone help me out with the code? I’ve looked through the comments and can’t find it. I start Pharm tomorrow and I’m excited to find this video!
Pine is actually a soft wood 🤪 but love the analogy! I won’t forget that one 😁
Was feeling really discouraged about my pharm class and now I feel so much better, thank you for posting!
You can do it!
Hey! So my pharm class didn't go into crazy detail about the dosing either, I think my other classes touched more on that and pharm focused on the action of the meds and what they interracted with. I found clinical was really useful for getting some common dosing down, but my main resource for dosing is epocrates! I just have the free version but I look up dosing recommendations on there ALL The time. Hope that helps!
Is there a book you used like your Patho book
What is the pic monic code
Thank you, I needed this.
Hope it helped!
Thanks so much for the helpful video! I saw that you’ve recommended the patho book, Clinical Pathophysiology Made Ridiculously Simple. Do you like the pharm book of that series also?
I did not know that existed! But I'd have to think its decent based on how good the patho one is
Hey Liz what was the name or website for the pharmacy study guide for NP's?
Hmmm pharmacists letter? Which one are you referring to?
Renato Flores picmonic was the study app I used!
What is the name of the FM app you use? I searched for “Family Medicine Notebook,” but nothing populated.... thanks!
Family practice notebook!
I’m gonna have to rewatch this next semester 😩. What camera do you use to film btw?
I just got a Canon G7X. I used my iphone until two weeks ago though!
Nurse Liz ahh! That’s the camera I’m hoping to get. Great quality and content. Thank you 🙏🏾
Its a super good choice! Love it so far. Thanks!!
Very reassuring, haha! Thank you for this
I don't I've ever had a favorite class that I took now that I think about it my favorite class in college was theater 🎭 and I think that's it .
Yes!!! I loved theater!
Wanting to buy picmonic and can’t find the coupon code in the description box! Am I missing it??
Here ya go bit.ly/nurse_liz
Love class. Leo Bascaglia.
My pharmacology professor (NP school) "lectures" on the 90% information and then tests on the 10% information. I am so frustrated with this class :(
Thats so incredibly frustrating
My favorite classes are ethics and psychology.
the world needs more people like you!
As far as reading the textbook goes, I know you stressed just mainly going over the objectives but for my patho class, she doesn’t list the objectives, so how would you approach the reading so as I’m not reading over 100 pages? Lol
Hmm that’s odd. Honestly I’d ask her since she doesn’t provide objectives. Maybe she could give you some guidance? Sorry it’s being super rough
Thank you for the 20% off link!
Of course!
You're a blessing
Thank you for the kind words!
Will that Picmonic coupon code ever expire?
nope! If it does send me a message on instagram and I can get you a new one!
Has anyone used PicMonic for RN School? Did they help?
T.boogs how are you doing in the class?
I’m actually doing really well. So it’s been rough and a lot of sacrifice but I’m chucking through it with God’s Grace and lots of prayer!🙏
I love your videos🥰
Thanks for following along!
Fantastic
I love your hair!
thank you!
Can your energy please rub off on me? I'm 53, been a nurse for 17 years, now doing my NP in mental health. So difficult at my age. Great video!
I start pharm next week:(
You can do it!
Good
Thanks!!
Does clinical hands on count as my favorite class out of the classroom?
Definitely! I loved clinical as well. So much more of a hands on person than a book learning person
Hey Liz your picmonic link got spellchecked to picnic!
I appreciate you!! Thanks for the catch 🙂
@@NurseLiz teamwork makes the dream work lol also love ur videos and love picmonic I'm in pharm right now the timing of this video was spot on!
oh good! You got this! It'll be over before you know it :)
Pathophysiology
this class is ridiculous!!! my class is 8 weeks and in the first test we were given ONE WEEK to learn all antibiotics and other things as well 😢 im an excellent student but i cannot with this class. luckily the busiwork is propoing up my grade bc the teacher had to give a ten point boost to the grade bc everyone presumably failed it as i did. I just wonder whats the point?! and i wonder what kind of providers this class is creating….
New glasses....did you decide?
