If you have a car key with a wireless remote, then you should know this trick. Yet many people don't know this trick! Because you can use your car key to raise or lower your windows. How exactly this works, I show you in this video.
For this you only have to hold the button to open or close for several seconds. If you want to lower the windows, it should be the open button and if you want to close them, the button to lock the doors.
After 2-3 seconds the windows will start to open or close. This is especially useful if you forget to close a window. You only have to press the button and the window will close without you having to get into the car again to close the windows.
Be sure to try it out next time.

It doesn’t work on all cars. It has to be a feature of your particular vehicle so don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t work.
Learned about this option years ago.. this feature was shown to me by the Salesman who was selling me the car… unlike any car salesman I’ve dealt with over the past few years… Car salesman actually use to show and explain to you ALL the Options Big and Small that the car had.
I agree. Sales people just sell boxes these days. I was getting my company car serviced and was nosing around the showroom at Ford. After a while a salesmen approached me, so I started asking about electric cars. He didn’t know a thing about the Puma’s range (miles from full charge), charging speed or battery size. He said to look on the website….. he tried to tell me they haven’t been trained on them yet as it wasn’t released yet, but there was a petrol version I the showroom with notices saying electric version coming soon. Totally useless…..
Yep, most salesman don’t take the time to show you anything about the car anymore. Usually I know more about the car than they do because I did my research.

I found this out be accident to open the windows, but I didn't realize you could close them again by holding the close button for the same amount of time. So, I say, thank you very much for highlighting this.
My 06 Honda has this feature, but to put the windows up I have to put the key in the door lock and hold it in the lock position
My little Dashound lying on my knees hit the button and opened all the windows of the car during a heavy rain 🌧 storm first time i realised you could do this 😆

I tried it and got so excited! Mine went down! Sadly, they didn't go back up! Mine is a 2013..so maybe that's why.

Since the last 15 years especially in the higher end vehicles holding down the unlock button on the FOB would open the windows. As time went buy more of the medium to lower end vehicles started to have this feature as described.

Yes I also knew about this feature on my current and previous Ford Focus. But you have to hold the button for 10 seconds. However withe keyless entry, you don’t tend to touch the key these days, and the key’s range is significantly reduced on my new focus, to try to prevent people scanning your key. So you end up stood next to the car before the windows open. If you open a door before the windows start to open, the feature does not work.
I'm haply that Ford put that feature in my 2011 mk3 Focus, its very great
I knew about closing the windows but had no idea about opening them!
Yip great feature on my Peugot van and when the passenger window failed in the open position i have to stop then activate the lock function on the key fob hold down until the window closes.

Had this also on my Opel Astra GTC from 2011..but now have Opel Corsa with all the options from 2019 and this don't work..WHY??
Doesn't work with my 2012 Toyota Sienna, nor 2012 Nissan Versa. It used to work on my 1999 VW Jetta though. I doubt it will work on my 1985 Mercedes-Benz.

I found this out about a month ago, but can you do a video about how to start your car after the theft alarm is triggered? My daughter took my car to Walmart and someone ran into it. It won't start now.
Suggest you disconnect the car battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnect. Should reset the computer module.

About 20 years ago I was assembling the alarm, then we installed a special module that supported this function. I believe that this can still be done today on vehicles that do not support it at the factory.
I had this option in my 2002 bmw E46, old trick. Also you could re-code the key to do all sorts of other stuff instead of that.
Would’ve been nice but not with our year of car does it open up 2016 2019 Chevy’s do not do it gosh that would’ve been so great
Tried it several times with my 2005 Mazda 6s, nope
yes this is a great trick to quickly deplete your battery rolling down the windows and draining your battery without the car running and the alternator supplying the power. 4 windows going down is a lot of juice to be taking from the battery with the engine off. starting the car is the biggest drain on the battery so you need to conserve the power.
You can find description of this feature in the owner's manual :)
I use it 12 years on my Ford Focus II and Mondeo Mk.IV. C-Max and S-Max have this feature too.

Depending on the make/country of manufacture not all cars will have this function.

I tried it on my 2019 VW GTI s. It didn’t work. I found out that it needs to be programmed by the dealer. UGH ! Any other ideas out there ?

I was on the front porch a few years ago and my keys were in my pocket,I guess the pressure of my pocket lowered the windows,I was shocked wondering how the windows went down,I looked it up and found out,I could not get them back up until I did it manually.

Warning: If you live/work/shop in a high rate of carjacking areas.....you might not want to try this feature. And make sure all doors are locked at all times.
I got a stupid 2018 car that when you put the car in park it unlocks all your doors. What genius thought of that? Didnt realize it when I bought it.
You should be able to change that. Check your owners manual. I changed mine .
When you park the car you expect people to be able to get out.
