This applies to many current remote controls. How many have we got at home now? Great to have this innovative idea on hand that will someday save lots of time and fuss. Wonderfully simple illustration. Nice sharing. Hello from Sydney Australia.
Greetings from the UK, I think the use of the keyboard pads is likely to be the best long term fix but with much less glue, because super glue does fume and mark plastics It's a good tip and an old keyboard will give lots of contacts for future use.
Take square inch of aluminium foil, stick to some thin double sided sticky tape. Cut in to 3mm squares with scissors, stick to the rubber pad. Works well and no messy glue!
Hello from the UK, thank you for uploading this, I didn't know contacts like these would stop working. I recently fixed a problem with our Mazda remote not working properly - the battery contacts needed pulling upwards more to make good contact again. Keep up the good work
Here is The Savior YaH The Father (Genesis 1), Who, with His HAND, formed “man (Adam)”, from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7). YaH’s HAND they NAILED to the Almond Tree, to symbolize forgiveness of the “Tree of Life” sin OF “man” and thus “The Fall OF man” (Genesis 3) YaH The Father arrived to be Crucified via the Tent of Meeting (Exodus 33, Isa Scroll), how YaH has ALWAYS arrived
instead of destroying a keyboard why not use "Electrically Conductive Wire Glue" Basically liquid rubber that conducts low voltage AC and DC circuits in a permanent bond and is easy to use. When I got it, it was like $4 bucks.
Assisti do Brasil.

Thanks for the video clip. I‘ve done this already several times with my electronic egg timer and tv/radio remote control. In most cases cleaning the contacts with alcohol does the job. Greetings from Germany😺
This really does work people I've done it multiple times myself. Just make sure that aluminum foil is really glued down cuz if it comes in contact and your remote close enough to your car it'll be arming and disarming until your battery drains dead

Great guy!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge to manage with another way of seeing its little problems that can happen to us daily

I’ve done this over many years with various remotes using foil and been successful. So it works!

There are flexable super glues available at hobby shops but most cure hard and can be brittle. A flexable rubber glue may last longer.
Try UHU glue.

Just use a pencil to transfer graphite onto the pad missing conductivity. No need to destroy a keyboard or use superglue.
