I did put a grey gums trigger in my p30L. It did not affect reliability at all.

By me adding an srt kit to my 226 nitron made a world of difference, is around a 9# pull and a 4 and change in single action. My p30s I installed gray guns kit and a 11# hammer spring- it is around the same weight as the 226. While both pistols are indeed my most favorited in my collection id give the nod to the p30 for ease of carry and the stellar ergos!

I have a Sig P220 45ACP, Sig P229 40/357, HK P2000SK 40 LEM, hated the reset in all of them. Installed the SRT in both Sigs, and the Gray Guns Short Reset in the HK LEM. Now I’m happy!

First of all, I am far from an expert, but those were two excellent choices for some of your first handguns. That said, the trigger has been noted by some as the weak point of the p30 line. I own variations of both of these handguns, plus a 92 Elite from Langdon for comparison. You nailed the upgrade to the Sig - the short reset trigger. I have a 229 Legion which includes the SRT. Still has a fairly long and heavy double action pull, but the reset is amazingly short and you are right back to the wall. For comparison, my Beretta from Langdon has a slightly smoother and much lighter DA pull, and the reset is I think even a bit shorter than the Legion and then again right back to the wall. But I will say the Sig has a more audible and tactile reset - you almost can’t feel the 92’s reset. As for the P30, I have the SK in double action also from Langdon and use it in my carry rotation while the Sig and Beretta are home defense. It has the greyguns flat trigger, which you can get independently of the Langdon trigger job that come with the firearm. As you would expect, smooth and light DA pull, but the reset on it is not nearly as short as the 92 or P229. Also, while I would highly recommend the P30SK from LTT, I am not sure I would order it again with the greyguns trigger. I love flat triggers on my striker-fired Sigs, but the long DA pull with a flat trigger feels a bit strange. Some have asked Langdon about the flat trigger with the DA and the reply is “some people really like them”, so YMMV. And, it may go without saying but no reliability issues with any of these guns, though I probably have fewer than 1,000 rounds on each.

AMAZING feedback!! Thank you so much for sharing (and watching). I thought it was just me on the flat trigger (liked) for striker - but seemed weird on DA/SA!! You answered SO many of my questions. Will probably keep stock trigger in my P30 - but will also get a LTT 92 on my short list!! Thank you so much again!!!

I know I’m late to the party but I have experience with both of these firearms and the short reset kits on both.
With the P30 I highly recommend the short reset kit. I installed mine and left out the light firing pin block spring and it functioned flawlessly. I purchased the gray guns flat trigger and in my personal opinion a flat trigger is not desirable on a da gun. It is much better on the LEM models.
The Sig short reset kit came stock on my 226 elite so I added it in my 229 I have and again it’s a great addition, but in my opinion the gray guns short reset for the P30 is the most noticeable improvement on either firearm. I also have a gray guns leverage trigger system in my 226 with an improved strut and it’s the smoothest DA pull I’ve ever shot. I highly recommend the upgrade.

fantastic feedback - thanks so much for sharing (and for watching) - i was super curious about that flat trigger option for the P30. I have the SRT in my 229 (actually M11 A1) and I absolutely love it!!. thanks again for watching!!!

I have both, but the P30 is the most accurate gun I have maybe because I have over 8k rounds though it plus I did install SRT.

I am hoping a 226 or p30l will be my next purchase. Absolutely love the ergos of the p30 like most everybody else that has ever held one but I’ll be damned if the stainless 226 elite with the rosewood grips isn’t the flat out sexiest gun there is. I say that I want to “upgrade” but my best groups are still with my stock G17

I have a 226 that’s 20+ years old. I added the short reset to it a few years back and love it. I can’t remember it having a stoppage and the trigger is better than the 226 legion due to all the rounds that have polished it up. I’m sure it’s choked at some point, but it’s as reliable as a hammer.
I also have a P30L (lem) from LTT. It has a Grey Guns trigger and short reset. Frankly I was disappointed with the 2+ mm of creep that thing had. It took ~1500 rounds and many thousands of dry fires to almost get rid of the creep. My USP expert had a better, more crisp trigger (just slightly heavier single action) out of the box. The p30L has NEVER malfunctioned though. I would absolutely trust my life to it.

That is some awesome knowledge/feedback - THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing (and for watching!). I've thought about sending my P30L (DA/SA) to Langdon Tactical but I'm not sure they can improve it enough to make it worth the $. But you are correct - absolutely trust my life to them! Thanks again for watching

Yes sir. I really love the P30 and am kicking around trying a usp with the LEM. I really love HK, but when I think about needing something to step out the door with, knowing I might not come back in, it’s a toss up with Glock.

P30 stock trigger is horrible. P30 with the flat trigger and short reset system is a completely different gun. Beretta 92 with LTT trigger job is usually my most accurate, but after adding the trigger upgrades to my p30’s the p30 is now my most accurate
