My religious belief is that the legal I.D.entiy is the mark of the beast and I got offered an apprenticeship but i can't use an I.D. at all and my state requires a S.S.# which i believe is the # of man from scripture. So I could use you knowledge about what the fine is and if the shop can get in trouble for allowing me to cut hair without a license.

Anyways, in PA, when cutting as an apprentice, you need to do 1,250 hours under a licensed master barber, then the test can be taken. Those 1250 cannot be acquired in less than 36 weeks. I don't know about where you are but its difficult to find a master barber that has the time to teach or let someone cut without paying chair rent. all that said, i digress, it is easy but it may not be as simple for some folks, especially after cutting for so long and not being able to afford losing clients to go to school. some folks may have problems taking the theory (written) part of the exam. I like this Barber because he is truthful I am a licensed barber in the state of Texas if I open a shop and they smell like marijuana or look like Hooters they're not coming in my shop rules must be applied you come on time you leave on time.
I went to Rob Roy Barber School in Massachusetts for 9 months, never missed a day. Cut in a real shop (illegally) while I was in school. Also school was just like a huge barber shop-we all took turns cutting the public's hair for $2 a head (to the school), plus the book knowledge. After graduating i immediatelly booked my test with the state, had to drive like 150 miles from home to take both a written test and a practical test on a person/subject i had to bring up there with me for the test. I passed both tests and have been licensed since 2009. I hear ya DLPeace.

I was listening to your video and I still don't know how you got your barber license I've been cutting for 20 years got my barber diploma in Puerto Rico in 1994 and now I'm trying to get the license and I can't I have to be trained by a school so I can do it exactly how those State of Florida want you to do it because it's not how I do it is how the state wants you to do it. no school honor my diploma because it's too old I was only 17 years old when I got my diploma I was young and immature now I'm 41 and all I keep hearing is that I have to go back to school again and do it all over again to be able to be Lic.

That only applies for some states. In Texas they don't have a barber apprentice program.

What state are u in? In nevada all u need to do is 400 hours in barber school then take test required but only if u are a license cosmetology already
