I haven’t really listened to you fully. I know who you are. I never ever met you and today I got a really good understanding and the 10 is a real thing and if you follow the 10 consistently and I mean consistently overcoming challenges remaining teachable if you’re the smartest person in your circle, it’s time for a new circle each one teach one follow the 10 even if you have to go through the trenches self-confidence’s is the key every day growth is the goal. Blessings like I said I never really listen to you before I was gonna watch the movie Marv and you having a discussion. I think it was podcast. That’s what it was. It was on TH-cam, but it had to industry. I believe the video is still out there so I’m gonna go watch that because this video shows me I miss something there. Blessings and have a great day, brother.
1-10 are totally correct! Look the part, be the part! Set hours keep hours! Too many Barbers think they can do this business as a hobby. You must be available when you are needed or they will look elsewhere! Thanks for the encouraging words!
Ayyy I have been cutting for 10 years I just opened up my own shop two years ago and I still like watching this video every week you did a great job man. Not too long but Direct
This is so true Will!!!!! I’m a mother and i hate taking my son to the barbershop. I always here bashing about women, so many sexually explicit conversations, people talking about weed and other drugs. I remember scheduling an appointment with my son and the barber was 30 minutes late so I went to the other barber in the shop!! You’re speaking all facts!! Glad to see you’re doing so well.
I left the shop after 4 years because of the environment, I'm actually cutting from my garage now until I can get a building, it's going great so far and my customers actually like it better..says a lot about the principles of this video, it's been 6 weeks now and I'm gaining more than I did at the shop..
Professional, Business, Man. You’re my type of barber. The young boys that treat the craft like the corner need to listen and benefit. Keep spreading the knowledge, man.
I came across your video while doing research on Guard Guides. This video you have made is MONEY!! The principles here apply to any industry, especially sales. I never appreciated barbers as much as I now do after watching this clip. I hope there are aspiring barbers who take your simple but powerful tips and use them to make a great living. Keep it up Will. You rock!!
Today they call this 100 today.n my beginning it was THATS MY GOOD WORD.LOL.been doing this n its dead on.and the real ones wouldn't of said what I just said n the barbershop..after 20 years..THANKYOU 4 THE REFRESHER SIR.
Thanks for sharing. Im a master barber with 35 years experience, and your information is SPOT ON!! Real master barbers are a rare & dying breed!!! Salute #TizTheLocsmith #TizTheMasterBarber
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and experience! I am taking these advises to the heart. I am excited to start this journey as a professional barber and opening my own barbershop in the near future. I am about to start barber school next month. Anyways great video I appreciate your support!!!
I'm currently in the process of starting up my own barbershop and have been doing some research on high level barbershops online before I started to watch TH-cam videos on "How-To's" and "TIps". I added profreshionalcuts.com to my personal list of "Top 10 Barbershops" to model after. And this week I started working on my TH-cam searches to see what people had to say...and came across this video. After I watched the entire video (spot on information), I had to rewind it to find out where you cut at. Coming to the light....you own the shop that's on my list. Hey man...keep up the great work for real. I'm from ATL originally but have been in Florida for a while...but when I come back, I'll be sure to drop by. Much love and respect to you and your legacy.
You are so right.... Thank you for the advise!!! I was thinking about going to the barbershop to see if they can do a one on one training , but I was too shy to ask... but I think I will take your advise and ask regardless! Thanks again for a great video!!!
You have no idea how much this just helped me. Today is my first day at a new shop and I am so nervous thinking if ima be good enough. But after listening to what you said I’m feeling better about this new adventure. Thank you
I’m 23 currently in barber school and after watching this I’m definitely going to use these 10 tips to my advantage. I already have the professionalism down packed. Thank you for these tips Mr. Stamm 🙏🏽
You started off slow but man you came through with some great principles! Some I have heard before and are common sense but others were great as well!!
I can relate to all everything you’ve said all but one thing? I only do walk-ins and I make a really good living and most of them say they don’t like appointments. But much respect to you you are the man. I watch all your videos
No 5, i walked in a barber shop and nobody said hello to me, i walked straight out the door, i agree with you, so many retailers who stand thier shops without saying hi to customers coming in thier shops..sometimes i buy a product because i like the person serving me..
I’ve been a barber for nearly 3 years what this guy says is spot on I don’t look at customers as customers I make them feel like there my friend & im there friend 👍
WHO THE HELL THUMBS DOWN THIS VIDEO! He is speaking facts! I wish I had social media way back when. Barbers are now able to show their work more readily online more then ever. Marketing is easy nowadays. Great advice my guy.
Waylon Jennings' type of barber... "Baby, it's time we get back to the basics..." Listen to him: His desired success is based upon given tried & tested principles which, given patient time to coalesce, has yielded an abundant crop. Will Stamm is authentic! Customers are drawn to him because he cares and delivers the pattern of essential constants CONSISTENTLY. It's not about hip-cultural lingo and contrived jocularity. It's about authentic, professional service & cutting edge professional performance & experimentation (ie., life-long learning and exceeding all audience expectations...much like a sought after LA concierge doctor). Stamm is a distinguished professional consistently & cognitively delivering what others fake & don't deliver. Nonetheless, it all takes time, maturity & patience while tending truth & wisdom when cultivating the land. Let this man's experience resonate with you, Pilgrim.
💯💯💯 I try to do all those...the one I'm lacking is the social media. Scheduled to do $100k this year...but that's not pocket because I just opened my own shop!😊
Excellent advice! All such basic common sense things, but all so valuable regardless of the industry. These are ways to be a successful entrepreneur, period.
This is a great video. I love your business strategy this is awesome. Been in the barber business 8 years. I still dont have the clientele I would like. This is due to me being lazy. I will use your strategies. Thanks for this you got a new subscriber
mate i was holding back on opening a barber shop but u have gave me a major info and how im going to operate u truly are a professional thanks alot for this video hope to see more thank u again
Excellent video with information worth abiding by in the barbering profession. I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. Thanks again and please keep making your videos.
I agree but dress what makes you comfortable don't be someone you are not. Good work ethic being clean and skill set spot on thanks brother CONSISTENCY 👍
The best video I’ve seen , I was just saying some of these things last night. I appreciate the knowledge , I’m going to grab me a mentor that’s better than me ASAP. I have a few questions though , first what booking app are you using or you’d recommend using . 2nd I dress well always have , I’m always on point , classy , modern and professional .
I’m handing out 5 cards a day and I’ll be back with updates monthly for results. I’m on TH-cam often so if anyone wants updates, just like and reply to this comment. Might even make daily blogs of me handing out cards to hold myself accountable
13 days in and I’ve seen 3 people come in from just those cards I handed out already. I’m be also had random people who saw me handing them out just ask for my instagram. Apparently people like seeing people do the ground work. Also built relations with other local businesses in the area who allow me to place cards in their establishment. I’ve restocked my stack of 15 twice in 2 months.
Stamm the Man. Great advice. Im grown and need grownup conversation when I get my cut. The cut and the overall experience is why I Im willing to pay more. I've walked out of a shop where the barber looks like he just rolled out of bed.
Great vid. Great advice. Would you be able to make a video on how to find models to practice on? I feel like the biggest issue new barbers would have is practicing and finding the right master barber sponsor to teach them.
Preach! I left the most successful barber in my town for a less known guy because he always was in a bad mood, would cancel my cuts, or would act like he was doing me a favor. I'd rather have a less than perfect cut than deal with some bs.
Great video and I am new this. I am retired from fire and EMS work and looking to start something new. The barber school near me has a dual program to get a license and be a master barber in about 43 weeks. There are just so many unknowns and unsure if it is something someone my age can do/start. We only have two barber shops in my immediate area and one of them is a new shop, but she has been cutting hair for a while. Should I consider opening a shop when I am finished school or rent a booth? Thanks! Much appreciated.
Hello Will, I appreciate your video you reminded me of the fundamentals I try to hold every day. I'm personally at an impasse and wondering if you have experienced the issue. I have achieved the 100k/year barber income but am now experiencing burnout. I have worked so hard to get there, that now I'm looking at ways to get away from there. I always wanted to be successful, but now that I am here, I really do dislike it. Constant work, 2-4 people waiting all the time, tips are great, customers are friendly, I shouldn't complain. The stress though... the constant stress. I've burned my fade time down to 7.5 minutes for a perfection clean (9 min for pickers) and I can't remember anyone's name anymore, It's become too much. I'm actually thinking of leaving the trade / closing my shop even at a monetary loss because I've got no where else to grow. Thoughts and comments are read and appreciated, ty. [throwaway account / not a competitor] located in FL.
I have been in upper management for quite some time and what you are saying is absolutely correct. You set the tone in terms of what you potential earnings could be. The same principles you have outlined are the same principles used in larger business. Although being a barber, in terms of your description, is a individual service industry job. You should look at it like a business......period. Great your customers as they enter the establishment, provide a welcoming environment, look the part/professionalism, ultimately create a WOW customer service......something your client will never forget. If you have the opportunities. Follow up with your clients on their experiences. This will provide you with the opportunities to make adjustments if needed in order to maintain your customer base. Ultimately, if you want to be a shark....you need to swim with the sharks....period. Great video.....very informative.
Damn well put Will Stamm your a true motivation speaker I enjoyed this video very much keep doing you bro I will subscribe and follow you on social media
Yo will, this is my first time watching this video of you, me and my friend were about to open up a shop. I like your style and the way you think. Great tips bro. Thank you. Greetings from avondale arizona.
You're talkin true life transcending all professions not just Barbers but all professions people looking for that like a Mercedes everybody want a Mercedes but it's quality and it cost when you stand it is right people don't mind paying a little extra
Consistency is #1, every time i go to my barber he is there. He told me he is off on Tuesdays and Fridays, so i goes on days he suppose to be there and every time he is there.
Will Stamm I absolutely get it! I taught myself how to cut for 12 years and I recently just finished my apprenticeship and about to take my state boards. The barber who taught me how to hone in on my skills, runs his shop completely opposite of what I would do and customers have complained to me about it. Customers no longer wanna sit in his chair and give me kudos on my cuts and think I cut better than him (even though I know with some styles he is far more experience than me), so this video really hits home for me because those are the principles I live by. I'm all over social media and involved in different groups and even have a well known female barber mentoring me on my cuts. So I get everything you're saying and I appreciate you for it. I just wish some of the barbers I'm around would sit down and watch this video and really evaluate where they are and where they wanna be. Cuz I wanna be on top lol
+CynCity Cutz hey share it with as many as you can... I'm putting together a tour for 2018... the information I've gained thru my experience are tried and proven concepts .. that whomever may adopt and use are gaurenteed positive results
Will Stamm I actually responded to your video asking what cities should you go to for your tour. There aren't many barbers or master barbers for that matter, that come to Pittsburgh PA. I'd love to meet you because at this point I'm trying to absorb all knowledge I can about barbering. I feel like everyone is always in a position to learn something new. There are a million ways to cut hair, I just wanna learn the best and the most time efficient.
Yes Sir you know it. They need to be in sports and meet new people every week from it, If they go to church then they need to go to many churches and meet new people every week.
Hey Will! I'm trying to convince my parents I want to pursue a career in barbering. They are pushing me towards nursing because they feel it's a more financially stable career, but I don't want to wake up everyday going to a job I hate. My dad is starting to come around, but my mom is a different story. How did you tell your parents about your career choice? Lastly, you are my idol that I look up to in this barber industry. I feel like TH-cam is saturated with skilled barbers, but I've yet to see someone who has the work ethic, knowledge, and professionalism you have exhibited in this channel. My dream is to one day be as successful as you Will. Your tips make me really hopeful to begin a successful career out here in Los Angeles.
+xHibachi24x hey man, my parents weren't involved in my life, I come from a broken home... but I will say this... your parents only want the best for you.. so don't be upset with them (they don't know what they don't know) ... you have to live your life for you!!! If barbering is what's in your heart... go for it... because you could be a nurse... make a nice income and still be miserable and thinking what if...
Will Stamm This is exactly what I needed! I'm going to save this. Words can't describe how much I appreciate your advice. Thanks again for putting videos like these out. They are top notch, and the things you talk about involve invaluable lessons. Looking forward to more in the future Will! -JT

Great video and I am new this. I am retired from fire and EMS work and looking to start something new.
There are a million ways to cut hair, I just wanna learn the best and the most time efficient.
you are honest person and so right!!!
