I’ve contemplated barber school for 2 years. I just enrolled in school. Being a father and 32 years old and having to work full time. I didn’t think it would be possible. Just have to find the right time to make it work. Adjust your schedule and just do it. You’ll be happy you did!
Same here I've thought about it for about 2 years. 34. Have a CDL and a Pharmacy Tech license but I've always felt that pull to get into Barbering. Having a family I know this is what I need to do.
Sitting here at my job watching this on my break. Been contemplating getting into barber school. I’ve never cut the first hair but I’m so sick of working this dead end job. I’ll be checking out more of your videos.
Thats why i quit my job and went to barber school full time. But i had been cutting for years already. It starts at home. Start practicing on your friends. Unfortunately my school did not teach fades. But thats ok cuz i learned on my own. Dont expect the school to teach you all the fly shit. Just the basics.
Bruh I appreciate your knowledge and advice. You really gave me the confidence to pursue barbering. I'm 45 and ready to pursue my 2nd career, very nervous but through prayer anything is possible. Thanks again
I'm 45 too and decided during the plandemic that it was time for me to get another trade.I went to a school yesterdayto get information and I'm going to another today. I'll make my decision over the weekend and start one Tuesday!
I’ve been cutting hair , my goal was to go right away . But I spent a good amount on the tools . Been putting them to use and seen improvement even use the razor . Saving a lot of money starting in the next two months on my 19th birthday can’t wait your a big inspiration .
I turn 32 next month and I’m seriously considering going to barber school and focus on perfecting the craft of barbering. Dead end jobs, working in a warehouse is not it for me. Always had interest in cutting hair but never took advantage of it. I think I’m finally ready.
I’m starting school soon. And been researching barber school lately and how sanitary stations are and even thinking of how clean I’ll be. That said, I now realize that half these barbers around my area are half @ssing and not being clean. I see local bars with one brush without cleaning, combs falling and no barbercide use after, neck dusters are the same one from last year. It’s actually disgusting. These barbers are moving at such a fast pace with clients that they just don’t think about sanitation and just on to the next client for the $$. Thank you for the knowledge
Everything you said is on point. It's my 3rd month in at my school and my life has literally changed from the first the time I first showed up for class. Only regret I have is I wish I could've started fresh out of high school lol I'm in my 30s now but will forever be a student of this beautiful field.
@@joythewriter5023 It was great man all I would say is if you choose this path pay attention and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Your mistakes are valuable because you learn from them and trust me I made a lot 💯 but other than that I love it. It's nothing like being your own boss 💯💯
Thank you so much. You should be an instructor! I’m 59 and retired from being a certified sterilization technician for a surgery center and then a hospital. On top of being retired, we just moved and I don’t know anyone here. I’m going out of my mind. I can’t imagine people that don’t want to work. I miss it. I think I’ll try to purchase the book first and do my best to learn as much as I can on my own then apply to barber school. It’s an occupation that will allow you to work wherever you move to.

I'm working full time. Been cutting hair for 5 years now and signed up for free classes at Cuny. Passed the TABE test and now waiting for them to give me an orientation date. Have 2 trimmers and clippers but no shaver and there wireless. Just trying to adjust my schedule, might have to leave my job but I'll find a part time job because I'm a 33yr old father. Still have to provide.
