A ton of guys focus on bolstering their pockets with affiliate sales, and forget why they started making guitar content in the first place. Tyler’s a blessing to the TH-cam guitar community.
Tbh though that’s not a bad thing I mean that’s one way for them to make a living while creating legit content. As long as it’s entertaining and valuable then why not make a few bucks while doing so?

That dream guitar obtaining is an unparalleled feeling. Definitely just amplifies the desire to play by lightyears. Very noble of you man, keep shredding !
Tell me about it. I'm 41 years old and just scored 1983 Peavey t-40 factory fretless bass. An amazing feeling owning something i never even thought i'd get to play let alone have in my house!
There’s a unique bond between musicians that people that don’t play will never understand. It’s like a secret society of passionate, like minded individuals all supporting each other. What you did was not only incredibly kind, it’s proof that musicians have each other’s backs and want others to succeed as we all follow our own path. Good on you!🤘🤘

You just made that kid's whole year man. Love seeing people spread good vibes and encourage new player to keep playing. Next time you wander down to Mississippi I'll have to drop in and hang out.
I met Tyler at the Gibson Garage on my 40th Bday last July as he was waiting to meet Tomo Fujita, who i also ran into. It was awesome and his is much more of a down to earth, nice guy than i expected. I got a pic with him and he was very cool and humble. I love seeing stuff like this. Awesome!
Well done Tyler, I love this type of videos where you show you true personality and kindness. That guitar would be special for the kids rest of his life and will inspire him to continue his journey
That is so fricking cool!!! I have a tear welling up...Talk about paying it forward! We may not ever see that kid on the big stage but your kind gesture to that young man will keep guitar rock alive long after we're gone. We'll done!😎👍
This is the reason I love the guitar community. And with a guy like you, making videos about the stuff we all like, only makes it better. You are an absolute ledgend Tyler! Thanks very much!
That was cool of you Tyler.......Boss move, and super generous. He'll never forget that, or you.......hopefully he makes it big and pays it forward....
Tyler has got to be the nicest, selfless and down to earth guy, i've ever seen on here, and gives so much to the music community, kinda restores your faith in humanity :)
Wholesome af ❤ My friend lemme borrow his guitar when I first started my guitar journey and someone stole it off me. I'm now saving so I can suprise him with a new one for Christmas 🖤🤙
Tyler, you are an awesome human being, you give so much to so many. Not just actual guitars, but time, knowledge, advice, and entertainment! You make people happy, OFTEN! 👍❤️
Dude, to have worked your ass off and now be able to do something life changing like this. This guy could be handing down his love of music to generations. And the story....

This is the kind of world I want to live in. When a human being is kind to someone else because they can be. Being able to have the guy there and playing the guitar is a more surprising and gratifying way to gift something like this. I know that for me, I look at images of guitars and think, "That looks like a sweet guitar." but until my hands touch it, I won't know if it fits ME or not.
I've said this before to you Tyler, but you're one of the most objective, and down-to-earth guys on TH-cam. This video really shows where your heart is, and I'm sure your Mom and Dad are extremely proud of you. Don't ever change.
Tyler. You sir have a heart of gold. The young man was in absolute shock. In a world full of Egos and maniacs you have restored a part of my faith in humans. Your videos are amazing and your humility shines through. I hope more people are touched by your random act of kindness. This kid will be changed forever...and in a very good way!! Bless you bro!
Videos like this make me feel blessed to be starting my YT dream. I hope I can have this sort of impact on another person one day. Creating something, putting your heart and soul into it, and having another person enjoy that content might be one of the most amazing things.
Made that young man's year! And - made my morning! Thank you for this. Wonderful to see two people being so genuine. Rare now days. Thank you again - I needed this today! :-)
I was able to buy my dream guitar, a Figured Top ES-335 in Antique Walnut with block inlays, by doing Uber after I sold all my gear to pay for my dad's medical and funeral costs. I then swapped the pickups and taped a little picture of him inside an f hole. I dreamed of having one since I was 10 years old and saw Clapton with a 335 in Cream.
@CountdownX He always was. My dad wasn't really into music but he came to so many shows growing up, paid for a great jazz teacher, got me a new CD every week if I learned a few songs off the last one, and even took me to see David Bowie for my first concert. Halfway through the show he nudges me and goes "I know all these songs!" Turns out the only songs he knew were Let's Dance and Space Oddity 🤣 The best part was that through supporting me, he actually got into music. He started watching concerts on VH1 Classic and Fuse. One day he called me in to ask "Did you know Queen were this good live?". He also had no idea the Beatles had great songs that weren't hits; he was born in 1944 and somehow ignored music until the early 2000s.
This is the best thing I've seen all day. That kid is going to treasure that guitar and the entire experience. I'm happy for him, but I'm also happy for you Tyler. Being able to do things like that must feel so awesome, I can't imagine.
I was gonna bash Guitar Center, but Tyler is like a friend, I followed him through the whole pandemic. This is giving back! I own 3 PRS Custom 24 se and it a great guitar. Tyler great video, Rock on Brother!
I remember the first Tyler video I watched. It was the forbidden riff at different shops. The employees were clearly in on it, bad acting!! I'm super happy I gave him another shot because, Tyler is an amazing dude, a villain player with a huge kind heart and, a great sense of humor! I've been subbed for a few years now and don't miss a video! He just changed that kids life ! What could be cooler than buying a kid an awesome guitar? Kid's new in town and hits guitar center and makes a new friend. Totally heartwarming. I love it!✌️❤️🎸🎶🙏
That!! Was AWESOME!!! You just made this kid’s world. So great that you give back to the community of followers that have made your TH-cam channel so successful. Well done, sir.
I love watching the reaction on people's faces when you do these things. You truly are a class act man, love your content and wish you all the blessings!
I had an Epiphone Les Paul. This Feb, I got a LP Classic. There is a guy at work that we talk Music a lot, and knows I play, and mentioned how he always wanted to. I suprised him a couple weeks ago, and told him "now you have 0 excuse". The look on his face was well worth it. When you truly love music, you share it. (I still have 5)
This is freakin' awesome, man! Look, I am 68 years old, and thank God, I can buy any guitar that I want. In fact, just bought a Duesenberg Starplayer TV (no F-hole) just this week. Didn't bat an eye. But you're changing lives .. and not just their lives, but one day they will pay it forward because of your generosity! God bless you, brother! May many blessings come your way! I have subscribed and liked!! Rock on!
What a dude! You did this incredibly nice gesture but also made it seem so natural. That kid internally was freaking out no doubt but you still made it seem like such a chill moment.
This was an awesome thing to do, I love it. It was funny when the employee said "This guitar? I didn't know you were a PRS guy". I literally bought my PRS because of your videos, keep up the good work man.
Love seeing good young dudes get blessed, cause they've got it hard enough these days & kids like this young man will literally give anyone the shirt off their back when & if needed! Well done bro👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
When you watch all the BS and crazy in the news, and then this comes up in your feed. It lifts your spirit. In our home we say it made our hearts smile. Thanks for sharing your passion with others in this way.
❤ How awesome! This is just one of the reasons I love watching and sharing Tyler’s videos and courses with anyone that ask me about learning. He’s an amazing teacher and human. Sharing love is what music is all about.
That's an amazing thing you did. I already owned my dream guitar, and sadly don't think I'll ever get it back. It was my first PRS and was gifted to me by my dad when I was 13 - it was a 1997 Custom 24 in Tortoise Shell - my dream guitar and one I never thought I would own. It was Christmas morning and I had already opened all of my gifts (sans the PRS) and was happily playing Street Fighter on the family computer when my dad yelled for me and told me that "Santa" had left a gift for me at my Grandmothers house. I come in the living room and there is a new guitar case in the floor - I needed a new case for my Telecaster and my dad told me to go grab it to make sure it fit the case - I had absolutely no suspicions that it was anything other than a new case for my Tele. When I opened the case up and saw that PRS... it is still my best childhood memory and my dad and I both got emotional. That guitar was stolen from me and pawned at a local pawn shop in the early 2000's - I was lucky enough to get it back that time. Several years later, Paul was at a local guitar shop and signed it for me - about a month later, someone broke into my home and stole it again. I haven't seen it since, although I did find pictures of it in the sold gallery on some random Russian online guitar store. I sold my Tele after my first son was born because we needed money for diapers, but that PRS is a guitar I never would have sold. I now have a S2 Custom 24, a Gibson Les Paul Standard, an American Standard Strat, a PRS SE 245, and I have one of the 10th anniversary S2 McCarty's on order. I would trade them all for that one guitar.
All I can say is what a great Thing you done for that young man, I sure he will cherish that guitar for the rest of his life. And this is just another great reason I watch your channel .
Nice!!!!! Where I live, if someone was to buy you a guitar out of nowhere (or any other music instrument) the least we would do is give him/her (the buyer) a strong hug. 🙂 Cheers from Argentina.
Tyler. That's what giving music is to me. Over COVID during lockdown, I bought a few instruments for other people. I was lucky and still had a good income while friends and family were losing their jobs and struggling. I figured being able to play music with the time off might offset the stress. This is my favourite videos you've done. That was awesome.
I tried to do this for a teenager once in GC last year. It was Christmas time and The kid told me he didn't have a guitar at home. It was just a Affinity Squier. I offered to buy it for him if his dad was cool with it. He asked his dad and I got the dirtiest look. I said I just wanted to gift a guitar that month as it was a goal of mine to do some good to inspire music for somone. They proceeded to berate me and get nasty with me and said "We aren't broke, we don't need your charity".... I was stunned. The kid looked super sad. So, I bought two guitars anyways and found a local public school music teacher to gift them to for his class. He also got two small orange amps from me plus cables, straps, picks and tuners. Trying to think of a better way to do it this year.
What's your dream guitar?
Guitar i can perfectly play without effort??
Strat
Gibson sg standard black
a Gibson custom, which i will able to order this year (:

Where I live, if someone was to buy you a guitar out of nowhere (or any other music instrument) the least we would do is give him/her (the buyer) a strong hug. 🙂
Cheers from Argentina.
Gestures like this just put mile wide smile on my face. Good on ya.
Tyler. That's what giving music is to me. Over COVID during lockdown, I bought a few instruments for other people. I was lucky and still had a good income while friends and family were losing their jobs and struggling. I figured being able to play music with the time off might offset the stress. This is my favourite videos you've done. That was awesome.
Absolutely amazing that you do this for people. I love your channel, anyway, but I love knowing that I'm supporting such a good dude.
