For context, Thant gave us permission to show him with just a mask on, but we took the extra precaution of blurring his face in shots where we felt like his identity could be exposed. He also gave us permission to use his common Burmese last name, but we chose to leave his full name out. We also worked very closely with our local freelancers on the ground to advise us on what we could and could not show and mention so that we wouldn't be endangering him.
I applaud that you took steps in your documentary in hiding identity however I think the steps you've taken are still insufficient. As stated by @nandinhocunha440 (one of the comments down below) and many others, you merely covered his eyes, you didn't cover his build, his clothes, his hut, or the area in which presides. Logistical constraints may have played in the part of you being unable to fully edit the video captured but you should have nonetheless given importance to his safety. Please look after him even after you extracted what you wanted from him, for his safety.

I've read some about the jade mining and industry in China and especially Myanmar so this wasn't exactly new information, but it is different seeing it and seeing real people there who are affected. I doubt there are many resources available for Thant and others like him to safely quit the drugs they are on, so little chance of them ever being able to leave the mines. Of the two varieties, I have always preferred nephrite over jadeite. I just hope any pieces I have were obtained under better, more humane conditions than this.
Are the miners sifting through the dirt the truck dumped after taking the big stones looking for jade to sell themselves or is that for a company? What is the worker/employer or independent worker structure? How much do they make? There is a ton of info left out here.
Don't involve China in anything, as for the civil war in Burma, China would probably prefer that they solve the problem peacefully so that the security of our border will not be affected.

Ancient Chinese "Jade" is nephrite. Jadeite from Burma was introduced to China in the late 18th century.
