- Ethiopia has announced it will not attend this week's latest round of US-brokered talks with Egypt and Sudan on a disputed Nile dam project.
Engineers at the site of the dam say construction is moving at its fastest pace ever.
Al Jazeera's Mohamed Vall reports from Western Ethiopia.

Ethiopians don't worry, keep on building your dam despite the US siding with Egypt. Much of the world is standing in solidarity with Ethiopia including my country Brazil. I'm sorry but I find Egypt very arrogant and selfish to argue that the Nile Water belongs to her when in fact there are 10 other countries who have equal say in the Nile waters. The only option for Egypt is to share the Nile Water and work together with Ethiopia and the rest of the Nile Basin countries instead of making threats. Imagine if US letting flow of water from Colorado river to Mexico from Hoover dam. I bet US even don't let the same oxygen to share with Mexico as they want to build strong wall at Mexico border. So for US, it is better not to say to others what you can't do for yourself. We want to use our resources as well to change our lives.

@Te G For thousands of years people have been able to live in the desert due to the Nile. It's only in very recent history that people have had the ability to build dams of the size that would affect people downstream.
I am aware of the issue from both sides. Maybe the world should come together to help all those affected by this. I do know that as the rivers output declines, those in Egypt will either have to move, starve or come up with an alternative plan to survive.
As for me, I am actually in favour of the project, but I can sympathize with the Egyptians who feel very vulnerable knowing that they have no say in the matter, whether they get water or not is up to other people up river who could over time use the resourse to the point of depletion. They also will need to get used to having 20% less water than they have currently yet they actually could do with having more.
