Anyone that is under threat from having their territory stolen by the Chinese should be interested in a Pacific NATO type military alliance. Foundations need to be laid and a firm structure set up so that it can be officially instituted within a few years - thankfully, it looks like we are on track for just such an event with AUKUS nations being joined by South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Canada, and the Philippines as founding members. I know the Philippines is not a regional military power, but its strategic position, ports, and airfields will be key to defending other members, keeping Chinese aggression contained, and they are themselves threatened continuously by the CCP military. I think India is a special case; it is a leading non-aligned nation and I think it will probably want to hold to that tradition. There I think patience and strengthening cooperation should be allowed to do the work of building ties, and also, the CCP with its penchant for making aggressive moves and threats will speak louder than any warning.
India will probably also join. Maybe Vietnam, even tho they are communist, they have been pretty close to the west thanks to clashes with Beijing.

Nopes…no one trusts the US… after destabilizing Europe and Middle East for decades… same is being done by China now in Asia and Africa… going along with one destabilizing force to ward off another can’t go good
Oh trust me India is very much there, we hear news that are publicly available, there are lots of planning going on which we don't know. Everyone's gearing up and so is India. There is a big war coming.
It's not a good idea for India for a few reasons:
1. India always maintained military autonomy. So, it's a risk to that. India will not join any type of military partnership/aliance because it limits the sovereignty of a country.
2. It will worsen the relationship with China As it will clearly declare its intention to deter China
3. It will affect the relationship with Russia. As Russia is an important partner to maintain balance.
4. India is already part of QUAD and India will not have a significant benefits as it already has a partnership with France to acquire Nuclear Submarines. If you're following the geopolitics you will remember Australia in 2021 cancelled a multi-billion dollar contract with a French firm to build the submarines. It instead signed a new defence pact with the US and the UK. AUKUS was the reason and France was let down by their own allies.

ASEAN is strictly an economic partnership and it also won't be practical because China has a pretty tight grip on other southeast asian countries' economies. And besides, some of them are not democratic or share common political values so it will be difficult for them to unite even though their people will probably get along just fine.
Even though many Asian nation have disputes with China, they manages it diplomatically without agitating the situation. Only one country in Asean is ready to go to war. Do you think Malaysia ready to die for your president? Fools.

Yes, that happened prior to world war 2 in Japan. It's better to form alliance before it is too late. Prior to World War 2, there were no alliance when Japanese attack. There is POWER in UNITY

Hopefully all Asia Pacific and Oceania countries that want to join a AUKUS Pillar 2 family would be welcomed, where one big community but India who would be accepted by all so fast would never want to join as they won't commit for or against China and threats but this is obviously the Indian Government preferred fence sitting stance and it works for them and that path must be respected by the regions.

Ths presentation is wrong, the original AUKUS deal was not just about nuke subs, indeed in the last month, Australia - all by itself - has put six autonomous non human mannded subs into the water. It has also devloped what is called the Ghost bat, provided a new uraninium enrichment process to the US, becaame the first in the world to make a scram jet engine work. SO NO its been about CO OPERATION in many fielld and is NOT USA loaded in any way.

History has taught us that there is a time to prioritize building infrastructures, taking care of the economy, and focusing on building up military capabilities.
When one nation turns into an aggressor, its neighbors need to prioritize building up their own military to defend its infrastructures and its economy (among many other things). Without defense, there would be no economy, infrastructure, even citizens, to talk about.
So the question of "why don't these people use the funds to build roads...?" should be addressed to the aggressor.
