Everyone involved deserves to take some responsibility. The one who donated, the other streamer who was there and just let it happen, they aided in murder.
Even that friend of hers marina also should be sentenced, how can she leave a friend outside in the cold and watch her get beaten up and not caling the cops.
Just an update - ReeFlay (the guy who locked his girlfriend in the cold and killed her) got 6 years in a penal colony in April this year for manslaughter. Slightly better than 2 years, but not much!
That’s a joke of a sentence. Some sentences really don’t reflect the crime. Even here in England I knew someone who only got charged 8 years for murdering a kid
The Russian streamer one makes me so unbelievably angry. The audacity he had to call her so affectionately after beating, stripping and shoving her outside. The audacity he had to continue streaming. He did no wrong? What's going on in his brain to make him think THAT?! And the fact that he only got sentenced to 6 years is an actual joke.

There is law that states when someone is eligible for parole but no law forcing the parole board to grant it; there is a law against crimes against humanity why wasn't that invoked. Murphy's law that states "there's never a cop around...." Could also cover there's no hard ass DA around...."
A lot of the time when this happens it's because the prosecution does not have an air tight case, and fears losing in trial. They will then offer a plea deal to get the person at least behind bars as long as they can.

Yeah. She could have excused herself as he clearly didn’t care about her leaving, and once leaving helped the poor girl to the hospital and then notified the police. She probably left the place and saw the girl frozen outside and just walked right past her.
She didn’t die from hypothermia . She d.ied from a blow to the head . My cousin’s boyfriend picked her up and threw her out of his house at 3am in the snow in her night T-shirt , no shoes. She didn’t want to have 6-ex with him at that time and wanted to sleep . She rang a few neighbours door bell no-one answered the door and one even shouted at her from an upstairs window to stop ringing doorbells and making a noise . Finally a very kind older woman from across the road let her into her house .
I just wanted to say this: your narration is perfect. Perfect pacing, perfect inflection, not one word mispronounced. You've set the bar very high and there are many, many channels that should be taking note of how it's done.
There is something about the Perfection of his narration that adds to the absolute creepiness of these stories. He States the facts and doesn't embellish anything and allows each individual to absorb the impact on their own and in their own way. It's interesting how everyone is affected differently by each story. What I find absolutely shocking may not be as disturbing to others. So many of these other channels try to become storytellers in order for the listeners to feel affected the same way that they are. None of that here just honest true facts with the simple logical thought at the end. What shocked me more than anything was when I saw how he looked. That was one of the most surprising things that has ever happened on this channel. I was pleased because when the stories get too creepy I just picture his Pleasant face and lovely smile.
Not only should the donator be prosecuted but so should the female friend that sat there for two hours with him while Valentina was outside. She watched him push her outside and did nothing. She could have said hey this is fucked, left and took Valentina with her. But no, she just left and probably didn't even check on her friend.

Hi Lazy. I had the unfortunate or fortunate, depending how you see it, to see the footage before it was censored. He's much worse then you describe him as. The fact that he chose to undress her, pore water over her and then not let her have a jacket is something that was, and correcte if I'm wrong, something HE himself choose to do and not something that was requested of him. He didn't care. When he finally carried her inside he didn't do anything really to warm her up or even carry her in a safe way. She hangs like a doll. He's a monster.

Imagine being one of friends or family members of the El Fausto crew members being so overjoyed that their loved ones had been found, and waiting on the beach for them to come home that night, only to realize that they were never coming back after all. Probably like losing them twice over, how sad for their families.

In the Brian Shaffer one where the guy goes missing at The Ugly Tuna, around the 3:15:00 area, there were other exits to The Ugly Tuna. The other exits didn't have CCTV. He could have easily left through a service entrance. This is frequently mistaken when talking about this case and I've seen some videos that claim that "it was the only exit". It becomes a lot less mysterious when you realize there are other staff and delivery entrances. It's still a fascinating mystery, but that one portion of that case is almost always distorted.

42:00 The original crew came across something extremely valuable, that would explain why they refused assistance from the British vessel. But then something else happened, perhaps in-fighting due to greed, maybe one of them wanted to keep everything to himself, somebody got hurt or killed and was thrown or fell overboard. The valuables fell overboard during the struggle, leaving the last survivor stranded out at sea. Or perhaps the report of a mummified remain was nothing but a coverup by the crew of the discovering vessel, to cover the fact that they had killed the four men on the small vessel for the valuables then sunk their ship to dispose of the bodies and any potential evidence. All speculative of course. Definitely would make an interesting novel or movie though.
As to the "Shen brothers" case, I have a theory as to why the female accomplices never left, despite having plenty of opportunities: the women were all prostitutes and had probably "worked" for pimps, or their "caretakers." This is common among prostitutes. These men get inside these (usually already mentally ill or addicted, sexually abused in the past, or trauma) women's heads and convince them they need them to survive. It becomes a vicious cycle of mental and physical abuse, drug/alcohol addiction, no where to go, no family, friends, self esteem, money, etc. I feel like the brothers knew this and exploited it.

The Brian Shaffer case sounds like it could be dissociative fugue/dissociative amnesia. It's extremely rare, usually precipitated by one or more major life stressors. The people who are affected often turn up weeks, months, years, even decades later, far from home, having created a new identity from scratch starting wherever they "wake up"/come out of the fugue. The death of his mother, being in medical school, and preparing for a marriage are all stressful, life-changing events. Brian had repeatedly intimated that he wanted a break. The case of Benjamin Kyle is particularly interesting if anyone is interested in learning more.

The thing that gets me about the Shaffer case is the message on his father's obituary page. Every source says it was determined to be a hoax but I think it'd be interesting to find out how that conclusion was reached. I mean it's probably likely he's not alive considering there's no footage of him leaving, but it's just such a weird case. I think his friend who has been less than forthcoming should be kept an eye on too, just seems kinda suspicious that he's unwilling to cooperate in the case.

I fell asleep and ended up having a weird dream that I was on some sort of trip and I started to notice that some native volunteers started to go missing and I followed this one guy. He led me to a van and the missing volunteers where there. It was so vivid and realistic I swear I could clearly identify one of the volunteers- she was a heavy set woman that wore a dark green jacket, beige shirt and jeans with sneakers and had a backpack and cap. She said in Spanish “I know that person! that American girl (I’m a guy) will get us help!” And the guy who was driving the van started to drive away. He saw me and I felt my stomach drop, my heart pound and my body react slowly due to the sudden burst of adrenaline as I realized what was going on. I quickly pulled out my camera and tried my best to take pictures and/or get a view of the license plate. Can’t remember if I could see it but the pictures I took weren’t the best so I tried to remember the make and model of the van. I did some digging and I found the guys house but he spotted me and tried to take me out. He was an older guy - make 40s with no hair and a pot belly. He wore shades. Wore tropical print shirts with the first two buttons open and shorts and scandals. Real grouch. It was one heck of a dream lol weird

Regarding the Sai Kung Barrier story, I'm wondering if there's some kind of natural gas leak or a plant that's a natural hallucinogen present in that area. The stuff the guy describes sounds like some pretty vivid hallucinations which could have been brought on by breathing in something toxic. I've heard stories of people seeing and hearing strange phenomena, only for it to be the work of CO poisoning. Is that possible out in the woods? Could explain why people wander off and get lost.
After some limited research into this topic I have discovered several plants do release a natural toxin upon being touched, broken or injured. The oils within these plants upon exposure to the oxygen in the air (usually they're ingesting CO2), causes a chemical reaction to take place which very well could be hallucinogenic. Proof of this can be found in hallucinations that occur due to inhalation of essential oils produced from plants.

I've always wondered if there are people who experienced these events that listen to these stories. For example, do any of the victims or people related to the victims tune in? Do any of the people who perpetrated some of these crimes check in to see what people say about them? Does anyone else ever wonder that or am I alone?
Yes!!! I am a true crime buff and I've read dozens of comments clarifying a video bc they were there on scene or it was a neighbor that saw the "full story".. you have to read deep enough into the comments you'll find SOMEONE that is "related to the case"! It's a small world don't forget!!

I'm not finished watching yet, but the case with Dale is so heartbreaking. He truly kept his word to protect his son and girlfriend and died doing so. Honestly, I could call that man a hero and I hope he gets justice. It always pains me seeing the most friendly people die doing good deeds.
I could call that man a fool for chasing after them because they came back and were probably armed trying to lure the guy to follow them because they came back twice. They pulled over jumped out shot him jumped in the truck and spend away. They were probably sex traffickers who leave an area once they abduct a victim.
He did a face reveal years ago when he did the water challenge . He’s a sweet guy and looks so young . He’s married and living in Japan , which is great ! He must be in his 30s now but looks about 20! Brilliant narrator !

Holy shit. I knew the Dermonds. They were close with my grandmother. I was just listening along passively and I stopped when you described the crime because it sounded familiar. I was there for that. We were visiting my grandmother at Reynolds when they found their bodies. A lot of people thought it was some drug hit involving Mark, their son, but it felt more like people were trying to create an ending rather than know what happened. Other people thought it was some sorta organized crime. I didn’t realize this was a well-known case? Thanks for covering it. I hope we find out what happened.

Allegorical slang evolves so much over time that's hard to know what some of it means in that context. Like how for us, paper means money, and rolling joints for hippies, but Jackie paper could be a lot of things historically... if I had to guess, they didn't have plastic to wrap stuff up in, so maybe a dealer or trader? Or maybe something to do with the way yr skin gets thinner when you do too much? Who knows... I think the song was originally a very old (pre 20th century) poem or a folk song that was later published by several different people, each getting some credit for "writing" it. So it's possible it became an opium thing after the fact, the same way it was co-opted again by the hippies, who decided it meant smoking pot, (despite the dragon chasing, autumn wind, pirate, and tripoli stuff, which is pretty clearly a reference to East west trade, imho.) And I think I read somewhere that the "chasing the dragon" thing is a actually a Chinese opium reference that was adopted adopted by sailors. And sailors are notorious for changing the lyrics of traditional songs to make them more relevant to sea life. That's about the depth of my knowledge, but I'll ask my surviving junkie friends if they know any good lore about it. :)

Just an update - ReeFlay (the guy who locked his girlfriend in the cold and killed her) got 6 years in a penal colony in April this year for manslaughter. Slightly better than 2 years, but not much!
He needs to get a life time and in a very cold prison in siberia, not too cold for him to die but too cold for him to feel it everyday

The first case is similar to the Dalia Dippolito case of 2009. The cops showed her a picture of her 'dead' husband, then had him walk into the interview room while they were questioning her. It was perfect. The look on her face...

There is law that states when someone is eligible for parole but no law forcing the parole board to grant it; there is a law against crimes against humanity why wasn't that invoked. Murphy's law that states "there's never a cop around...." Could also cover there's no hard ass DA around...."
The judge should have stepped up at sentencing making it no possibility of release.
A lot of the time when this happens it's because the prosecution does not have an air tight case, and fears losing in trial. They will then offer a plea deal to get the person at least behind bars as long as they can.
That Russian TH-camr story really disturbed me. There was a third person there and they just left without trying to help her. They should be charged as accessory to murder for doing nothing while the poor girl froze to death.

There is something about the Perfection of his narration that adds to the absolute creepiness of these stories. He States the facts and doesn't embellish anything and allows each individual to absorb the impact on their own and in their own way. It's interesting how everyone is affected differently by each story. What I find absolutely shocking may not be as disturbing to others. So many of these other channels try to become storytellers in order for the listeners to feel affected the same way that they are. None of that here just honest true facts with the simple logical thought at the end. What shocked me more than anything was when I saw how he looked. That was one of the most surprising things that has ever happened on this channel. I was pleased because when the stories get too creepy I just picture his Pleasant face and lovely smile.

Though I understand how frustrating and confusing an abused person's behavior can be from the outside, we must stop the habit of looking at and questioning the behavior of the terrorized women who are victims of unimaginable trauma and violence and start looking at and questioning the behavior of the violent misogynistic abusive and too often homicidal "men" in these situations. No progress can ever be made without that shift in focus.

And I wonder how many of those female victims goaded their bfs/husbands on in order to get revenge on him. I had the unfortunate or fortunate, depending how you see it, to see the footage before it was censored. He's much worse then you describe him as. The fact that he chose to undress her, pore water over her and then not let her have a jacket is something that was, and correcte if I'm wrong, something HE himself choose to do and not something that was requested of him. He didn't care. When he finally carried her inside he didn't do anything really to warm her up or even carry her in a safe way. She hangs like a doll. He's a monster.

In the Brian Shaffer one where the guy goes missing at The Ugly Tuna, around the 3:15:00 area, there were other exits to The Ugly Tuna. The other exits didn't have CCTV. He could have easily left through a service entrance. This is frequently mistaken when talking about this case and I've seen some videos that claim that "it was the only exit". It becomes a lot less mysterious when you realize there are other staff and delivery entrances. It's still a fascinating mystery, but that one portion of that case is almost always distorted.
How is it less mysterious when they guy disappeared, regardless of how it happened?

My friends think I'm weird for listening to this, but Lazy's voice is so calming. I listen while I study and the background music is chilling yet comforting. Even though these stories are scary, I feel more prepared for life and it makes me more aware that scary shit happens. Thank you for this content... These long videos make my studying go by easily.

I'm just the same as you - as repugnant as the stories are, Lazy's voice is so nice and soothing he helps put me to sleep. I think it is a joke that the guy hit his girl in the head, threw cold water on her and then threw her outside naked at sub temps and the judge ruled that there was no proof he actually intended to kill her. How exactly does that equate to no intention to kill? That would be like me going up to a random, slicing them ear to ear and then saying I couldn't have known they would bleed to death.

People like that usually feel invincible and don’t consider the severity of their actions, he was used to normalizing abuse I’m sure. He probably viewed it as another shock value ploy for more donations, which is disgusting.

Update on the Narumi Kurosaki case, he was sentenced to 28 years in prison. He has an appeal in progress.
42:00 The original crew came across something extremely valuable, that would explain why they refused assistance from the British vessel. But then something else happened, perhaps in-fighting due to greed, maybe one of them wanted to keep everything to himself, somebody got hurt or killed and was thrown or fell overboard. The valuables fell overboard during the struggle, leaving the last survivor stranded out at sea.
Or perhaps the report of a mummified remain was nothing but a coverup by the crew of the discovering vessel, to cover the fact that they had killed the four men on the small vessel for the valuables then sunk their ship to dispose of the bodies and any potential evidence.
All speculative of course. Definitely would make an interesting novel or movie though.

As to the "Shen brothers" case, I have a theory as to why the female accomplices never left, despite having plenty of opportunities: the women were all prostitutes and had probably "worked" for pimps, or their "caretakers." This is common among prostitutes. These men get inside these (usually already mentally ill or addicted, sexually abused in the past, or trauma) women's heads and convince them they need them to survive. It becomes a vicious cycle of mental and physical abuse, drug/alcohol addiction, no where to go, no family, friends, self esteem, money, etc. I feel like the brothers knew this and exploited it.

Vibes I got from the Sai Kung barrier made me think hallucenigen, I've heard somewhere that a certain type of underground vent, which can occasionally breach the surface: puts out hallucinogenic gases. Would explain the dazed state the survivor seemed to be in.

The Brian Shaffer case sounds like it could be dissociative fugue/dissociative amnesia. It's extremely rare, usually precipitated by one or more major life stressors. The people who are affected often turn up weeks, months, years, even decades later, far from home, having created a new identity from scratch starting wherever they "wake up"/come out of the fugue. The death of his mother, being in medical school, and preparing for a marriage are all stressful, life-changing events. Brian had repeatedly intimated that he wanted a break.
The case of Benjamin Kyle is particularly interesting if anyone is interested in learning more.

The thing that gets me about the Shaffer case is the message on his father's obituary page. Every source says it was determined to be a hoax but I think it'd be interesting to find out how that conclusion was reached. I mean it's probably likely he's not alive considering there's no footage of him leaving, but it's just such a weird case. I think his friend who has been less than forthcoming should be kept an eye on too, just seems kinda suspicious that he's unwilling to cooperate in the case.

What a great story narrator this young man is, many others would need to surpass the bar he’s set. I’ve wondered what the narrator looked like and of what age, now I know. Needless to say I was shocked. I’d expected more maturer man, never would I have guessed how young he’d be. This young man obviously is set for his future ambitions, and will do well, I think. Oh my god! As soon as you said the “three orangutans one blender” video is fake I breathed such a deep sigh of relief. I have such a soft spot for animals and hearing that description my heart broke for those poor animals. So glad it’s fake, but unfortunately I’m sure there are real people who are so sick in the head to do things like that with animals.

I fell asleep and ended up having a weird dream that I was on some sort of trip and I started to notice that some native volunteers started to go missing and I followed this one guy. He led me to a van and the missing volunteers where there. It was so vivid and realistic I swear I could clearly identify one of the volunteers- she was a heavy set woman that wore a dark green jacket, beige shirt and jeans with sneakers and had a backpack and cap. She said in Spanish “I know that person! that American girl (I’m a guy) will get us help!” And the guy who was driving the van started to drive away. He saw me and I felt my stomach drop, my heart pound and my body react slowly due to the sudden burst of adrenaline as I realized what was going on. I quickly pulled out my camera and tried my best to take pictures and/or get a view of the license plate. Can’t remember if I could see it but the pictures I took weren’t the best so I tried to remember the make and model of the van. I did some digging and I found the guys house but he spotted me and tried to take me out. He was an older guy - make 40s with no hair and a pot belly. He wore shades. Wore tropical print shirts with the first two buttons open and shorts and scandals. Real grouch. It was one heck of a dream lol weird

Regarding the Sai Kung Barrier story, I'm wondering if there's some kind of natural gas leak or a plant that's a natural hallucinogen present in that area. The stuff the guy describes sounds like some pretty vivid hallucinations which could have been brought on by breathing in something toxic. I've heard stories of people seeing and hearing strange phenomena, only for it to be the work of CO poisoning. Is that possible out in the woods? Could explain why people wander off and get lost.

After some limited research into this topic I have discovered several plants do release a natural toxin upon being touched, broken or injured. The oils within these plants upon exposure to the oxygen in the air (usually they're ingesting CO2), causes a chemical reaction to take place which very well could be hallucinogenic. Proof of this can be found in hallucinations that occur due to inhalation of essential oils produced from plants.

I've always wondered if there are people who experienced these events that listen to these stories. For example, do any of the victims or people related to the victims tune in? Do any of the people who perpetrated some of these crimes check in to see what people say about them? Does anyone else ever wonder that or am I alone?

I'm not finished watching yet, but the case with Dale is so heartbreaking. He truly kept his word to protect his son and girlfriend and died doing so. Honestly, I could call that man a hero and I hope he gets justice. It always pains me seeing the most friendly people die doing good deeds.

Holy shit. I knew the Dermonds. They were close with my grandmother. I was just listening along passively and I stopped when you described the crime because it sounded familiar.
I was there for that. We were visiting my grandmother at Reynolds when they found their bodies. A lot of people thought it was some drug hit involving Mark, their son, but it felt more like people were trying to create an ending rather than know what happened. Other people thought it was some sorta organized crime. I didn’t realize this was a well-known case? Thanks for covering it. I hope we find out what happened.

So I fall asleep to Lazy a lot, and tonight was no exception- then I was waken up by the most genuine evil laughter I’ve ever heard, and thought “oh god, what anime did I fall asleep to?”, remembered it was Lazy, and then promptly became very afraid lol.
This happened to me last week, worst thing to wake up to 😩

Allegorical slang evolves so much over time that's hard to know what some of it means in that context. Like how for us, paper means money, and rolling joints for hippies, but Jackie paper could be a lot of things historically... if I had to guess, they didn't have plastic to wrap stuff up in, so maybe a dealer or trader? Or maybe something to do with the way yr skin gets thinner when you do too much? Who knows...
I think the song was originally a very old (pre 20th century) poem or a folk song that was later published by several different people, each getting some credit for "writing" it. So it's possible it became an opium thing after the fact, the same way it was co-opted again by the hippies, who decided it meant smoking pot, (despite the dragon chasing, autumn wind, pirate, and tripoli stuff, which is pretty clearly a reference to East west trade, imho.) And I think I read somewhere that the "chasing the dragon" thing is a actually a Chinese opium reference that was adopted adopted by sailors. And sailors are notorious for changing the lyrics of traditional songs to make them more relevant to sea life.
That's about the depth of my knowledge, but I'll ask my surviving junkie friends if they know any good lore about it. :)
