3:04 i feel like Gabe earned some real respect from the fans in this moment. Sucks that things ended the way they did, but I don't think Philly will ever hate Gabe.
Gabe was the younger and more relatable to the players coach, but he should have just dropped the hard line into analytics act and just managed. He’s not a good manager though SF found out
Kind of ironic, isn't it? 13:33 Years after Charlie Manuel got ejected after saying that Bryce Harper (then a hero to Nats fans, but a villain to Phillies fans) swung on a check-swing, Bryce Harper is now a hero to Phillies fans. It's a flip-flop... Fan of Bryce Harper for life... that's me!
I have no clue about the rules of baseball but think I might start watching it this is some entertaining stuff right here, is this a regular occurrence in the game?
This happens about 5 times a season for an individual team, so if you include the other team about 10 times out of 162. But I would say definitely check out the next game you can after the season starts. Since it isn’t timed the game has more suspense and in game drama than any other sport.
At one point MLB umps wore suit and ties most likely to give the appearance of authority. As they started to wear more bulky protection and with darker colors absorbing more heat the umpire crews found themselves exposed for 9+ innings in a game that was up until the 30's played exclusively during the day in the middle of summer. Not to mention the fabric would have been wool or cotton. They ditched the blazers and went with light Blue shirts. Today's umpire crews can choose between black or the iconic sky blue shirt with the home plate umpire having the ability to wear a "plate jacket". The moniker blue will still hang around until the memory of screaming at Joe West dressed in a blue polo screwing up every ball/strike dissipates from our collective memories.
“Charlie is probably saying ...” Wish there were a parabolic mic 🎤 focused on him to really find out the juicy details. I bet the language would be along the line of George Carlin’s _the 7 dirty words_ .
11:21 That was clearly outside the baseline. Either that umpire is blind or he had money riding on Houston. The fact he refused to confer with the home plate umpire is telling.
1:15 I wonder if Davidson was smiling like that when the League served him with a suspension for this incident. Balkin' Bob never had any control over his emotions.
Mad respect for "Uncle Charlie". Will always love him and respect him. He did so good as the Phillies manager, and always had their backs.
Charlie was a gangsta boy I miss this man
12:43 Heckler: "Hey blue get off your knees, you blew the game" 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Charlie is a phillies legend
Charlie Manuel---the husband/boyfriend of Jim Thome. Oh yeah, also the Goober Pyle of MLB.
I love Charlie man...we should elect him mayor
Absolute perfect choice for the thumbnail. We need a painting of that at CBP
Yea the face look all rosey red.
3:04 i feel like Gabe earned some real respect from the fans in this moment. Sucks that things ended the way they did, but I don't think Philly will ever hate Gabe.
I feel like he was fired way too early
Seems like a nice guy, I prefer Girardi, but Kap’s got style.
gabe was a fall guy for inepy klentak for sure
we needed more of this in early gabe
Gabe was the younger and more relatable to the players coach, but he should have just dropped the hard line into analytics act and just managed. He’s not a good manager though SF found out
Rough day today, needed this. Thank you.
I'm having one of those days now. That's why I'm here 😭
@@yourfavoriteyoutuber6139 get Over it liberals
god gabe was a terrible manager but i’m gonna miss him sticking up for his guys like that
Idk considering this was the only time he’s ever been thrown out of a ball game for his guys just a terrible leader
dale jacobs Kapler def got ejected more than once for sticking up for his guys
Look what happened? He manages the Giants and he's doing much better. Now I think it's not Gabe that's bad, it's upper management
*some guy in the back round* "HEY BOB FIX YOUR PANTS!"
charlie is an icon
You could have replaced every Kapler ejection with at least two GREAT Bowa ejections from 2000-2004 lol
6:16 haha that kid is great
The one ejection with Manuel, Umpire Bob Davidson got in trouble with MLB!
Charlie was a savage god i miss him!
Too bad a manager can't throw an umpire out for a bad call.
"YOU THINK I WANTED TO BLOCK HIS ASS?!" 🤣
Bob responds what the hell you looking at!!??
1:48 say what you want about Gabe but you cant deny he looked like the coolest man on earth right there just strutting over to the ump
and thank you for adding larry’s ejection!
Bob Davidson could not tie Charlie's shoes..Ever.
Not a Phillies fan but these ejections had me dying laughing 🤣
They’re weak ejections. They never saw jim fregosi or nick leyva in action and there weren’t cell phones to record it all
@@tritontransport I've seen the Fregosi ejection when Benito Santiago got tossed for a check swing against the Expos in '96.
There’re a lot of bad calls here. A umpire really has to screw up for Charlie Manuel to complain to.

You youngsters haven’t seen anything. You should’ve seen Nick Leyva and Jim fregosi going after umps 🥴
Too many umps think it's about them.
Bowa is the man
Jeez, it's just a game guys!
Wow revisiting some of these dark years and remembering names like Kingery…getting PTSD
Love that it’s basically all Charlie. 🐐
If Joe West had one good eye he'd still be a Cyclops. His ejections shouldn't count.
Manuel was a better overall manager but Bowa was so much more entertaining vs umpires 😂
I miss the old days
Shut up, Wheels
LOL, that bit at the end was perfect.
In troubling times, this’ll be a nice pick me up
I miss uncle Charlie
"You think I wanted him to block his a$$?? What the hell do you think I'm doing??" 😂😂
I heard that clearly
How many times has Joe West the Ump that through out a phillies mgr.
A hell of a lot when Jim fregosi and nick leyva were around 😂🥺
West was a Phillies hater and he was an awful umpire
I have no clue about the rules of baseball but think I might start watching it this is some entertaining stuff right here, is this a regular occurrence in the game?

Joe West has a sidearm delivery when he runs someone
Joe West should have retired 10 years sooner than he did
Why do people insist on calling the umpires "blue"? They wear black & grey. 🤷 It's always the little league heros & parents that do it.

Baseball is weird they do weird things just because it’s been done that way for ever
Charlie is the goat
Joe West is the second worst umpire of all time. Always wanted to make a show. On top of bad decisions. Angel Hernandez is first.
Bad video for the Van over family

KILL THE UMP!

Jim quick had more of an absolute detonator. IMHO.
Love the vids keep it up
Meh. They’ve had a lot more than 3 managers
nice compilation, but not enough Larry Bowa and no Jim Fregosi?
Dallas Green was there too.
probably get ejected for bad breath!!
girardi is cool but i miss charlie!
No Frank Lucchesi?
0:57
Charlie said BULLSHIT ala Earl Weaver!
I thought it was the fans 🤣
I liked kapler
Kapler vs Joe west is so good lol
6:16
Mackanin was so useless
@Landann Williams Kapler was better
Player's loved playing for Charlie.
