All good stuff that I was taught or figured out through 45 years of hiking. I learned about leg dominance in a big way on an attempted AT thruhike, when my left leg tightened up more and more as the miles piled on. Plantar fasciitis came on as a result of increasing tightness in the overused calf and hamstring muscles. Stretching and rolling out the Plantar fascia helped, but a slip in the mud caused my left knee to over-compress, tearing the meniscus, and my 2200 mile hike was cut short at 1,075.1 miles, exactly. I'm 70 years old. I hope that I get the opportunity to try again. Thanks!
