  • Hi! My name is Emily and I'm an expat living in Madrid. Join me on a 3 day trip to Sevilla, where we'll hit all the major monuments including the Alcázar, the Cathedral and Giralda, and las Setas, as well as a few lesser known sites like the Antiquarium. You'll also get to see a real Flamenco show!

    Just one comment. Being in Seville cathedral you should have mentioned the Grave of Christopher Columbus inside, which is amazing.

    I think Seville is the most beautiful city in Spain - I loved Cordoba, Ronda, Barcelona, Granada and Madrid but Seville is stunning. Did most of the stuff in the video in 1 day

    Sevilla seems amazing. I'm wondering if there is a story with "Casa de los Pilatos"?
    Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your experience in Spain.

      It was truly a wonderful city. I'd love to learn more about the history of the house, and next time I visit I intend to get the audio guide. Thank you for watching!

      Not casa de los pilatos, it's Pilato's House
      There is a reason for its name, its owner in the 16th century, Fradrique de Rivera, went to Jerusalén to visit all the places related to the death of Christ. He brougth many interesting objets from Jerusalem, from then his palace has been known as Pilato's House. His descendents completed his work creating a via crucis from the palace to la Cruz del Campo. Well, as you can imagine the palace is well worth a visit not only for its beauty and mixture of styles, but for the lives of its owners, nowadays Dukes of Medinaceli.

    Seville is so rich & unique. Visiting Spain/Seville in May, so looking forward to it. Question - what monument was shown around 0: 48 ? Was it the Cathedral ? Great video !

    • @emilyabroad
      @emilyabroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's so exciting! At 0:48 it's not the cathedral, it was just an incredibly ornate little church called Iglesia de San Luis de Los Franceses that we stumbled upon while walking around. Thank you!

    Good video! Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!

    Hi Emily, is it easy for a non Spanish speaker to about the city?

    • @emilyabroad
      @emilyabroad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a spanish speaker myself, it's hard to say, but I don't believe it would be too difficult. Most of the popular destinations have tours in english and often times there are restaurants by those sites that have english on their menus. In general, I always recommend studying basic phrases and their responses (ie 'Where's the bathroom?' 'In the corner on the left.') and especially memorizing the words for anything you're allergic to or won't eat.

      We went to La Casa del Flamenco in Seville! I bought last minute youth (under 26 years old) tickets for €15/person, but that was in June of 2021 so some things may have changed.
