Love how even though the remake has so much blueprint to work with they still took the time to refine their art style and focus on how they can not only improve the story, but retell it in the same manner with modern animation and proper pacing. I'm very excited for this project.
I'll admit, the original anime is how i got into one piece, there were and still are awesome moments happening in the anime, but the last decade or so, I've been tired of it because the pacing is just soooo bad, that's why I think we need this remake so people can watch the anime, and not be completely bored with the pacing of each episode
@@staticmakesbeats ehhhhh, when you adapt at most 1 chapter per episode, it's pretty bad, I get it's ongoing, that it's a weekly series, but nowadays best thing anime studios do is make seasonal anime, so you can adapt an entire season of material, make a few filler episodes if you want, take breaks, and not have to worry about making up ideas to fill episode runtimes
I mean, a lot of people are like "nah, this anime has too many episodes", "nah, this anime looks weird" and I was one of them. When I decided to take the long journey and start One Piece (that was during the pandemics), I was hooked from Episode 1. And now it's my favorite anime of all time and I have been watching anime for over 30 years (I'm 46 btw). With the live action, a lot of people decided to give the anime a chance and got hooked, so I see their move to make even more people to watch One Piece, by doing a fresh and top tier animation. These people (from WIT Studio) are legends and hand picked a dream team, which happen to love One Piece themselves. And I can only imagine that one day the whole world will experience "THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!" and I'm sure Oda-sensei is preparing for this gigantic event that will go down in history! Netflix can't imagine the gold mine they digged...
One Piece fanbase is really livin the dream right now. Have you seen how Toei has upgraded their animation qualities recently? I believe this is solely because the spite they have with this new remake. But honestly if not for it, we'll probably still be getting a 1 frame/second anime like they did in WCI. So it's a win-win competition
I dont think the increase in animation quality has anything to do with The One Piece. The animation jumped in quality since Wano and it went further in Egghead. The quality was awesome before this was even planned

A dream come true really. I always wished that maybe when one piece was over and the anime had finished, that we could get a remake. But because of the popularity of the live action and how many people are now getting in to it. We're actually getting the remake before the story is even over. To be able to get this at this time is unbelievable and to finally have one piece with that seasonal animation (and by WIT Studios too) is just awesome. Plus the pacing issues being fixed. Can't ask for more. I always had the manga as #1 and the anime in the top 10. But now? Anime wise it's now gonna get that #1 spot in my books.
i was iffy on this because i LOVE the character designs for the early Toei One Piece episodes, but seeing how the guys who were involved in the WIT AOT are also working on this gives me immense hope for the action scenes!
I can't wait to see so much more people getting in to One Piece thanks to this remake! The Live Action series already brought a new age of pirates, but this will be the second Golden Age within another one! 🏴☠

Toei is def giving their animators leeway to do some creative stuff, Wano Act 3 onwards feels like Toei just let their animators & directors unleash their creativity & its pretty cool.
Netflix better invest in the success of this remake and give the animators a healthy schedule to work on the project. We don’t want episodes that are worked on literally hours before they release. Please let us not repeat the production disaster of jjk s2. I’m excited for this and trust the animators, composers, everyone in production to exceed expectations.🙏❤

I absolutely love this, and am excited to see how they execute this! I really don’t care for the pacing in the regular week to week releases because I’m just so excited watching the show. But I cant wait to rewatch again with this project!!

Now, current day, I saw a scene where Nami turns into a child again somewhere in a post-timeskip arc, and the voice was no different than adult Nami. Adult Nami's voice in the earlier episodes felt more like a child's than post-time skip child Nami. Mayumi Tanaka's voice which once could scream so well, also has become weaker when it comes to yelling. In the Live Action Japanese dub, "I will become King of the Pirates!!!!!" in the first scene was so weak. The Arlong fight as well, the screams felt so weak.
They have too, we can't force the og one to continue with this project.... So let them rest after the work is done at toei ! The one piece remake have to find the new VA, cause i believe this is going to be long term project !? 🎉🎉
From a fan's point of view who grew up with One Piece, I'm mostly looking forward to much better pacing plotwise and careful foreshadowing of stuff that couldn't be included in the original work since it wasn't planned out yet. However, these are things that come after all the details that are mentioned in this video. It was eye-opener for me. I didn't know how much work went into creating animes and these people are putting a lot of care into their craft, especially because it's One Piece. It gives me hope that they will show us a new side of One Piece while still staying true to the original work.

We need this remake. Look at the first 200 episodes. It's simply no longer accurate for today's standards. And then this unnecessary stretching and bad animation. You can only be a hater if you don't support this project. Of course I'm grateful to Toei that I grew up with the anime and still watch the new episodes, but that's exactly why I realize why One Piece needs a remake - you just see all the problems that Toei's anime has.
Amazing quality aside, just the fact that we're getting a more condensed animated version of One Piece is great. Because it's hard as heck to recommend a 1,000+ episode Anime, especially when two thirds of that is filler, cheap animation and slooooow pacing.

As a huge One Piece fan, I’m really hoping you keep the gritty, grundgy and “real life” style and art direction of the original anime and not go for this flashy, pompous, DBS style ot animation we see in the latest episodes that Toei is doing. I think in this case less is definitely better, and I think that’s how you convey the emotional impact the best. A good comparison I think is the OG Zoro ve Mihawk fight vs the new East Blue Saga remaster we got relatively recently. It kept the flow and the OG aesthetic, but just refined it and made it smoother. Thank you for working on this! I’m counting on you WIT

On one hand i'm glad One Piece is getting more love and more content, on the other hand i feel like its an insult to Toei as if they're implying they're doing a terrible job. Ever since wano started i couldn't have asked for a better thing to watch every sunday.
