As a genji main who hates you for all the times i died because you flew out of my blade range by some bs miracle this game's physics allow god knows why, you guys are cool xD I wouldn't be able to play with a target on my back 24/7 without even a way to vent by killing anything in return.

the first 2 minutes sums up playing mercy lol, everyone goes past the rest of ur team to kill you, tire is drawn to you, rein LOVES pinning you, and getting solo ulted happens every game without fail
thank you for actually trying her out. im sick of people saying she takes no skill just because you don't need to click and shoot with her. her movement is the most important part of her kit and her only way of defending herself. she can be very fun but she needs the right comp. playing her with brig/zen/lucio/lifeweaver/illari is just a bad idea because her healing output is too low, she needs a main healer as the second support to really shine and so she could focus on damage boost. sad to see playing her caused her to deranked, and people say mercy players are boosted 🙄

as a person who played mercy ever since ow1 i would say you did really good i find it funny to see others funky movements edit : ill say your GA usage was not the best lets say the least but you probably lost because you more likely didnt use DB / heal while being in valk its really useful, but the most important part is you all had fun
One tip is if you hear a tire turn off your beam and make as little noise as you can. It works perfectly coming from a mercy main also dont super jump as much since it’s an easy target for everyone your better of on high ground or just behind cover
The rip tire magnet thing is 100% a thing. It wasn't your bad luck. 99% of junkrat mains use tire to solo ult or duo ult the enemy team supports. If you're playing mercy, you will get head hunted so it's best to hide and hide well.
I love being a little shit as mercy. She really is the tracer of healers if your team is set up right. The way you can wip around and distract the snipers or flyers so that your dps can actually push is so fun. Risky rezes and all. Been a Mercy main since the start pretty much so it's just nice to see someone actually describe what it's like playing mercy without just saying "She's so boring and ez man"

Mercy is just more complex than most people think. Support isn’t that hard to play and succeed, it’s just that learning a new character and role is harder than playing the same things.

"I really beleive Mercy's just unlucky" Sort of! it's because of her movement. Basically, because Mercy is zipping back and forth all over, she actually ends up collecting a lot of stray nonsense; the random hanzo arrows and junkrat nades, the weird accidents like that ball tapping the ledge, hog hooks from Narnia, all of it. Basically no matter how good your positioning or GA usage, you just have a higher chance of putting yourself in the way of something that was never meant for you at all. Lucio has the same problem, since he's skating and hopping all around. I can't tell you how many times on Lucio I've been sucked off a wall into a Rein charge, or blasted off the map by a Dva bomb because the rooftop I'm skating on has a one-pixel cap that lets the wave through.
if anyone wants to get better at mercy movement mercy parkours are a great option, what you couldve maybe done was a rez parkour because just standing on the ground and rezzing is 90% of the time going to get you killed

Welcome to Mercy! our characters shit, she gets changes that make her players have to learn her for the majority of the ow2 seasons and we get targetted by practically every enemy under the sun, yet we still play her because we're all addicts and love our angel!
I love the videos and I definitely feel like mercy is a lot better than people give her credit for I have a 40k healing game with Mercy in competitive and she's actually a hard carry hero in my opinion
It is you just have to be competent and have competent teammates. I mean this in the nicest way, if you can’t succeed solo on Mercy you just suck at the hero flat out.

Other supports you’re able to heal around you (Lucio, Brigitte, Moira, even Zen) and others have long ranged heals. But Mercy, you have to focus on one person, and switch around if you actually want to help your team. But if teammates aren’t in your line of sight, or close enough, you won’t be able to do anything. You might have some matches where you do well, but that’s only when your team is smart enough. Even the best Mercy will have trouble carrying 4 other idiots.

Another problem that I have come across and really just care anymore is when people say “we lost cause of the healer.” Or “healer sucks!” And most of the time I get this in all roles unranked so not as hate but I usually say “ I could have been a dps!” But mercy for me is just super fun!
mercy CAN be really impactful, but in specific circumstances. in comp, shes only really impactful if you have another healer who synergizes with her well or if she has a really good dmg player she can pocket. alot of ur games i saw a brig or lifeweaver on your team, which mercy doesnt really tend to go well with due to the limited healing they both pump out. ana, moira and bap tend to go best with her, mostly because theyre able to do the bulk of the healing while mercy tops off any they miss/dmg boosts those who are already doing well. she's alot like illari in this sense where she needs a good healer pairing otherwise she struggles alot with healing by herself :)
yeah junkrat most always uses his ultimate just to get the mercy also i have a trick i just found out for her blaster hold down on the button for shooting instead of clicking each time because for some reason it is more accurate and way faster to hit them
I know you most likely won’t play Mercy again, but I would like to give some tips (for anyone). Try not to superjump all the time. Of course it’s a great tech, but if doing it unnecessarily it can make your movement predictable and expose yourself if you’re in an open area. 13:59 Here, using Hanzo to fly behind him and damage boosting him would’ve been better for survivability - since Torbjorn is already on point contesting, you can occasionally heal him too while the team comes back. Mercy’s are all about surviving most cases if possible. Also, you want to have a 60% offensive beam uptime, and 40% healing beam uptime, give or take since it’s not always going to be perfect every game you play.
You should do it again but learning how to rez properly, mercy is all about movement, since she's a "easy kill" you should use it to your advantage to distract the other team dps without dying
