You cut the white wire and you gonna be dealing with another problem because im pretty certain that white wire is there for a reason
Yes,cut the white wire and your radio/CD player works again like new.Its like the ecm had control on the radio with a time clock for failure.

Did you cut the correct wire ? There 2 white ones next to each other.
